Realistic or Modern Mad House.

Nick quirked an eyebrow, barking a callous and mocking laugh. Wow, that was a good comeback... y'know, six years ago. The boy took in a breath to say as much, along with a dozen other insults, when he heard a sharp exhalation from Felicity beside him. He looked over, dropping his charade and looking over at her with an irked frown, watching her rise abruptly from her seat and exit the limousine. Why is she... ugh. Nick got to his feet and made his way over to the door, sliding it open and poking his head outside. He watched her retreating figure as she walked over to a cab farther down the road, hesitant to do anything, until it was too late and she was already inside the other vehicle.

He pulled his head back in, rubbing his knuckles against his forehead as his frustration built. What did I do wrong this time? Having those two sitting there sucking face would have ruined it all, it's not like I was in the wrong for trying to kick them out. Nick paused, brewing in his anger as he reflected on the most recent event, before his rage developed even further with the embarrassing realization that his emotions had gotten the better of him yet again. Now what was he supposed to do? Leave her to go to her party with them? That's one disaster of an evening just waiting to happen, but at this point, he doubted that she wanted him around after that.

Soon, he was running in proverbial circles in a rare moment of indecision. Nick was soon hyper aware that he was just standing there in front of those two. He made a short, hissing sound from between clenched teeth. "Damn it." The boy yanked the door open and stepped out into the afternoon heat, sliding the door shut roughly behind him. Nick's feet twisted beneath him, some part of him wanting to go to the taxi after her, but in the end, he decided to just head back up the path to the orphanage.

That was another problem, he came to realize. He simply want to retreat to his room, but aside from the door being open, he would have to face Isadore, who would probably be keen enough to notice that he hadn't even been gone for half an hour. Nick stopped in front of the door, pinching the bridge of his nose, exhaling deeply in an effort to calm himself a little before going inside. Everything would be fine. He would just wait it out in the living room and... not watch television, no... maybe find a tennis ball in the laundry room to toss around of something. Yeah, that sounds fun.

Nick rolled his eyes in exasperation, twisting the doorknob and entering the orphanage once more. The boy had just shut the door behind him when his eyes were drawn to his roommate sitting in the kitchen. He sighed noisily through his nostrils. So much for that plan. Time to improvise. Nick approached Isadore with an automatic, "Hey." Having come up to the other boy's side, he folded his arms over the counter to lean against it, cross his legs behind him as he did so. He tilted his head a little, observing the contents of his bowl. It's not even discolored... He glanced over at the cereal boxes that remained unopened. So he's drinking milk out of a bowl... with a spoon... He's so weird. Nick removed himself from the counter, going to the elusive drawer that had concealed the silverware for so long the day before and pulled it open. The boy collected a fork in his palm and held it out to Isadore, keeping on palm clasped on the open drawer. Barely managing to keep a straight face and a serious tone, he said, "Here, this might work better."

Upon receiving an answer explaining that they were going to one celebrate one of the other kid's birthday, Caelum thought that maybe he wouldn't go with them. Generally birthdays were a thing that people wanted to celebrate with friends and family (though he supposed that celebrating with family was impossible for anyone here), and as he would be a complete stranger to them and they would be complete strangers to him, suddenly showing up to a birthday would have been awkward for everyone around.

"Oh. Um. Actually, I think I'll just stay here instead then." He smiled uncertainly at the tall lady, and then entered his room.

Caelum looked around it, taking it all in before actually walking any further that the door. It had two beds, but the room looked void of any belongings and had that neat and empty look that hotel rooms usually had when you first arrived. It was smaller than any hotel room he'd ever been in, but at least he wouldn't have to share this one with anyone. Hopefully for awhile.

He walked over to the beds and set his bags down, planning on taking care of unpacking his belongings later in the day before he went to bed. The ride over had taken quite awhile and Caelum was hungry.

When he was done with the very short task he left, finding that the tall lady had left while he had been busy inspecting his new room.

Caelum went back down the stairs and found his way to the kitchen, seeing the boy from before offering a fork to a new person holding a bowl of something.

"Uh, hi."
