Macros not always saving correctly

I had this in the macro announcement thread, but I think it got lost in all the other comments. ( ;) ) This problem is still happening as of this morning, though, so I thought I'd repeat it here.

I'm having an issue with a particular macro setup. It includes different font colors and a spoiler within a spoiler, but when I try to use the macro in a post, it turns the spoilers into pictures instead.

Here's what it's supposed to look like (with the spoilers opened):

Here's what it looks like when I'm inputting it as a macro (note: this is exactly the code I use when posting without macros):

capture-macro-create-jpg.129063

Here's what it looks like after I hit "Save Macro":

capture-macro-save-jpg.129065

And here's what it looks like when I try to use the macro in a post:

capture-macro-use-jpg.129066

Is this still a problem?

Yes, all is still as it is in the pictures. If I go in to edit the macro, it shows the proper code; it just isn't inserting the proper code into posts. I tried deleting and recreating under a different name just now, but the effect is still the same.

Have you tried disabling Rich Text Editor, and only using the BBCode editor with the Macro?

I had not, but going into the BBCode editor, it doesn't look like it's adding or removing anything:

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_06/57a8c2d888568_Capture-Macrobbceditor.JPG.de3b2ca273bbd6d2f19489718c3e97fd.JPG" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="56872" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_06/57a8c2d888568_Capture-Macrobbceditor.JPG.de3b2ca273bbd6d2f19489718c3e97fd.JPG" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

And it still previews wrong, that way. Creating a new macro and putting it in from scratch gives the same results. Plus, it's the same Rich Text code I use in regular postings, and it works fine there.

If I take out the spoilers, it works fine - it just doesn't work with either one or both of the spoilers.

Can you go into your personal settings and click the Rich Text Editor off completely? And then try the Macro?

Just for better control of where the problem lies. Rich Text Editor does bad things to bbc, and it could be doing things with the Macros.

Ranailt Listens to Shadows

Form: Human

Essence Pool: 6 / 10

Willpower:
6 / 6

Damage:
[o][o][o][o][o][o][o][o]

/ Bashing

x Lethal

* Aggravated

Status: Healthy

Active Facet(s): Honed Senses (Gift of Hunting), Feet of Mist (Gift of Evasion).

Okay, that's odd. It doesn't look correct on the macros page, but it does here.

With Rich Text Editor off, I mean.

Yeah. Rich Text Editor messes with stuff a lot.

*Can you do a screenshot of the macros page so I know what you mean by weird?

Also, you may just have to work without the Rich Text Editor if you use the Macros. It's possible the *Macros addon doesn't like the Rich Text Editor addon and yeah.

Here's my macros page, showing 2 macros (Maggie and Ranailt). Maggie's is exactly as it should be. Ranailt's should look like it does in my last post -- and indeed it does, when posting with Rich Text completely disabled; it's only here at the Macros page that it doesn't look right.

Thanks for all your help narrowing this down, Auren :) If it is a Rich Text Editor problem, though, I think I'll just do without the macro for things involving spoilers; I'm too attached to pretty buttons and not good enough with BBcode to remember how to do it myself.

That could just be a problem with the Macro preview and how it reacts to the new bbcode that pineapple made for RPN.

I'm glad I could help. :)
