MA: Righteous Lethe Pursuing Style.

I have an idea for a new Martial arts style.


One practiced by either renegade Abyssals, or a handful of Dragon blooded, and maybe one or two solars at this point.


It represents the Renewel, and promise of Lethe.


Im having trouble coming up with concrete charms.


but heres the ideas I have.


A mid level charm that allows the exalts fists to Act as hammers of the Damned (see "bones and ebony")


A high level charm that allows the exalt to instantly dispatch a ghost and force it along the path of lethe. (with no chance for oblivion)


but I could use some help making up low level charms and a form.

So the primary focus of this Style would be to fight ghosts? Would it have any effects vs. the living?


Also, if DBs can learn it, are you planning on making it a Terrestrial Style?

I've debated wheither it should be a celestial or terrestial style.


Its hard to decide what the breaking point is per se.


I think I'll go with it being celestial (a HANDFUL of Dragon blooded other then immaculates learn celestial martial arts.)


hmmn good point it SHOULD have some effect on the living I think.


but I think one thing I need is a form... one with an emphasis on renewel... and balance.

Maybe one of the lower level Charms could do no damage, but force a ghost to make an immediate Lethe roll, at normal difficulty, when struck?

The possesion of individuals by ghosts, while it does have some legitimate uses, often times exists as a violation of the natural order, a way to get vengeance for petty slights.


And so the practicionars of Righteous Lethe Pursuing style Found a way to counter such creatures.


When struck A ghost possesing a Creature (including a dead corpse... ) must make a Willpower roll with a Difficulty of the exalts essence or the creature is freed  (and if it was a corpse it falls immediatly to dust.)

To A practicionar of Righteous lethe pursuing mediation Death is not something to be worshipped or abhored; It simply is. With this understanding the Martial artist may inflict this acceptance on others.


his unarmed strikes do letheal damage and an additional dice of lethal damge per dot of essence


Conversely lethe is Also peaceful.


The Peaceful Serenity of Lethe Allows him to preserve his own exitence Adding his Martial arts to all dodge rolls, creating a dodge pool where none existed before.


If anyone has any other ideas for the form please Im open to suggestions.

It seems to me that most Celestials have basic Charms to do this already, and most DBs learning a Celestial Style would already be able to do this.


I would think that any such effects in this Style would have to be either better at what they do, or more interesting in their application, or else it would just be redundant.

I can only think of the the Occalt Chrams that allow you to see and attack, but they are 2 spereate Charms.  A Charm that does both might require Essence 5 and MA 5, but it seems like it would be better then having to cast 2 Charms, or Combo them.

Im also doing my best to make sure that while it reflects its purpose of "against servants of the void" its not useless in other situations.

its primary focus is to fight servants of oblivion not ghotsts indeed im thinking it was probaly invented by solars working concord WITH ghosts in the first age.


I think it would probaly be effective against abyssals, spectres death lords, mortwights hungry ghosts, Disciples of the abyss, etc.


it also has at least a few charms that have general utility.


I am however doing my best to make it something other then redundent...
