Death is the Beauty of Life
"What is it like to be alive? To feel the warmth of blood of a living creature, skin rubbing against yours. Am I...even programmed to feel that sensation? I want to find out, but Dad told me to be a good gynoid and not to cause any trouble within the laboratory. Though he calls it home and thinks I should too...Hell fits it better. Good Night data diary, shutting down Infinitive Unit seventy two XX.I.."

Walls of rust dusted metal hum throughout the periodic "lights out" cycle. The flaky orange from the walls can be seen floating down to the floor by the vibrations of the walls due to the electrical vibes, the quiet floors become decorated in the fields of it's flaky companion for it may never be swept up. This monochromatic of a building is nothing more than an awaiting flood of body bags, not that it already was not. Every hall that is connected in this building is labeled into sections, like section E is a forbidden hall of failed experiments who lost every control they once had, their moans and growls could be heard echoing through the quiet halls, in pain, suffering and wishing to end it all. Their moans and growls were silenced when the piercing of metallic heels stabbed the fallen rust on the floor. Mutinous curiosity filled the infected eyes of the mutants of E Sector as the peered through the thick glass of their cells. It must be uncomfortable to be exposed to wondering eyes of your fellow inmates day and night; when ever those were.

Finally the piercing echo came to a halt and before the halls beginning was a woman wrapped in darkness. Eyes of emotionless red glowed dim facing down the hall. Hair outgrown to the back of it's ankles, it's arctic blue tone appeared to also be be wrapped in the darkness as it stood scanning the variations and current situation. The mutants remained quiet before the feminine component, sensing it's presence but some were unable to pick up on it's exact movements and location. A unique smooth, honey dipped toned shell was used as her face as it's realism could be mistaken as real skin if not for her android eyes that even then had their own certain uniqueness. "
E Sector Unstable, Reducing Blood Levels...Reducing Oxygen....Begin" The woman figure walked down the halls elegantly, almost as if not wanting to step on possible traps the way her robotic legs swayed side to side, crossing paths. Core of her body was covered with chromium with reinforced glass as it's base, for what wasn't covered by chromium, glass revealed what appeared as human-like bones not held together by any nerves or muscle. It looked just as if it was a simple skeleton was placed into a case, almost like to preserve the bones.

A fragile hand was placed onto the chest plate of the gynoid, as a small, round indent opened as it glowed intensely of blues, greens and even violets. Upon reaching the first cell which contained a form of a one-eyed rat that stood on it's hind legs towering over the gynoid. Infected puss dripped from it's face, though it seemed as if it were no longer a bother from the constant pain. The aura increased in intensity, it burst out like a massive star that died and exploded in agony. The hues reached within the cells of the mutants nearby and as she walked with her steel heels impaling the ground, mutants fell to a deep slumber or a complete zen depending on their size. Near the end of E Sector were some of the smaller mutants, compared to the ones in the beginning. Before the gynoid, all fell to their knees swaying to their slumber on the cold floor. A dragging sharp noise, like that of nails on a chalkboard caused the gynoid to stop. Head turning to the cell, her androidous eyess met whatever resided there, emotionless.

You have caught the attention of the Gynoid who has been putting everyone to sleep or so it seemed. Due to not knowing exactly what she was doing because you cannot hear her behind your glass wall; your imagination is open to just about anything. She could be killing them for all we know. You are having a heard time seeing correctly among whatever else; her image before you is having an illusioning effect.

Role a d10 for reaction.

1 or 2: You collapse before her and have fallen into a slumber

3-5: You collapse before her but you have not fallen asleep. You can reach out for her(etc) but cannot touch the glass.

6-8:Your vision remains impaired and body feels heavy. You may rush up to, touch and interact with the glass.

9-10: Your determination is still strong and the Gynoid sees that. She directs her aura to your "cellmate" across from you. It's force slams it into the back of the wall but it is unconscious. She faces you face to face. Roll Again for a 5> to damage your cell if you desire.

Subject One Three One lay silent in the darkness, listening to the rise and fall of her own laborious breath. The floor was cold and unwelcoming, as it had always been; designed to house the temporally limited and insane. She had been told in quiet tones that she had failed, that she had earned a place among the rejected even before her mutations had run their course; though, in truth, given the pain that wracked her limbs and brought her to this chilly, smooth aspect of her small world, Colette was suspicious that she would continue to shift and change...eventually ending up like whatever horrors held residence on any given side of her cell.

How long have I been here, came the plaintive, porcelain whisper of the voice in her mind, trapped and waiting...

It was a thought she often entertained, along with gouging her own massive appendages into her chest and making a quick end of the silent torment that had become her waking life. Yet, never had she drawn her own blood. There had been once...perhaps twice, though her recollection of the complex outside seemed to fade with each passing day, where she had turned her 'natural' weapons against those who had come to close; those who had seen to her endurance test. She often reflected that it was most likely that, rather than any true genetic failing, that had earned her this man-crafted hell. Or perhaps it had been when they found her attempting to make her way through the vents...or, even, when she had fallen silent and refused to cooperate; keeping her tongue still even when electric prods had been brought forth to 'motivate' her.

Acedia is my name, now...

Then, suddenly, she was brought from the deep and dreary well of her thoughts by a strange sensation...and a sudden burst of light. She opened her eyes in panic, drawing in a rattling breath on realizing that she had become near-blinded in the mere moments she had given herself to self-pity. Her oversized claws rested heavily beneath her, curled up to rest their bone tips against her back as Colette cradled herself with them. Their response was sluggish, fingers uncurling to their full length with trepidation she had never experienced in her form before. It was as though she had been hollowed out and filled with liquid lead. She rose to her knees after an excruciating series of seconds, wobbling unevenly as a child unaccustomed to walking would; propping herself up with the jutting bones over her knuckles.

Her simple sift hung loosely about her body, letting the chill of the clinical cube settle in without resistance. Yet, still, despite the aches and discomforts brought on by her plight she could not resist advancing; step by laborious step towards the glass. It was a journey of miles, riddled with stumbles and soreness...forcing her to pause between every second to regain her balance and narrow her eyes.

What is this?

Through the haze she could see little but the scattered lances of light bleeding through the veil that kept her hidden. She reached out, slowly, with one hand...keeping the other at her side to balance against the weight bearing down on her from nowhere. Darkness surrounded it like inky tendrils, seeping in and out of the small corona cast from beyond. She felt a tear, unbidden and thick, acidic and slow, slip from beneath her simple clothing...the open eye that adorned her chest weeping where she had no cause to. When it touched the ground, the first sound that was not her own panicked breathing reached her ears...a quiet sizzling at her feet...the scent of acrid smoke, born of scorched metal drifted up to tickle her sense as she rested herself against the glass; one claw trying to dig a small trail into the surface of the glass. The rest had fallen silent around her, though their noises were small even when they were at their worst...lending a sense of power to the face that stared back at her.

Are you an angel of death?

She mouthed the words, but did not manage to speak them aloud...only a girlish cracking came from her too-dry and often-disused throat. The woman that met her gaze was beyond what she knew...beautiful but emotionless; pools of crimson slicing through the writhing darkness that surrounded 131. Barely, she could see her own reflection; her smaller, more twisted form mirrored over that of the strange being before her. Colette could not stand the sight of herself for long, but could not turn away; opting instead to lock eyes with the creature. Her claws reacted less calmly, both pressed suddenly against the glass...a distant fury controlling them. They flexed and scraped, dragging bone-daggers down the glass over and over; curling into fists as her breathing became heavier and her heart began to beat more quickly.

Before her, the mutant made movement as it has been in awe of something magical, or something unholy. The Gynoid watched it as it's mouth moved smacking it's cracked lips up and down. It was aware it was speaking, as how humans would but there was no way to hear such thing behind it's glass cell. Shifting the feminine body directly towards the cell, it's heels clicked on the cold, metal floor as it approached the glass. "Analyzing..." Within the eyes of the gynoid, information could be seen through it's own mass database like a webs of an arachnid that weaved it's own fate. The androidic eyes moved back and forth rapidly as if reading a book of sorts.

"Subject 131...

Failed Project Authorized by Dr.Hugene Ugo

No Further Use. Further Access Denied..."

Reaching out a fake, fragile hand towards the glass resting it with mutant before it. Arctic hair swayed to the side as it tilted it's head sideways as if expressing curiosity to why this creature's information was denied. The mutant was in E Sector, surely there has to be more of a reason than no further use of such thing. The unknowing caused a tick in the gynoid's upper body, like a frustrating jerk of emotions but it had none. It's fragile hand that laid rest on the glass opened up like pieces of a puzzle, a holographic panel laid out before them with a pattern of waves that would react to the voice of the bot.

"Engaging...

Voice Transmitter Authorized...

Using Human Interaction Disk A..."

Silence followed it before it continued.

"What is your name?"

It's voice carried a smoother tone rather than it's default robotic crack. The voice was feminine, but had a younger set back that did not exactly matched it's body. Mutants from before were still unconscious, their cells were dark now all except one thirty one's. It's voice echoed in the cell but was steady enough to still understand clearly, thanks to the transmitter. Nothing else could be heard in the background other than the occasional scatter of the rats that lived among the mutants.

Role a d10 for reaction.

1 or 2: You do not understand what she has said and unable to communicate back.

3-5: You respond to her question, unable to say it clearly. However you may not continue questions if you roll anything under a four.

6-8:You may hold a small conversation with her with slight struggle. You eventually collapse to the cold floor ending your night.

9-10: While holding a conversation, Dr. Hugene comes walking into E Sector due to unusual activity on MOMO as he was alerted in some way. You discover that MOMO was a special project through his anger but he shuts her down by force. 5> You felt an emotional connection for the first time in a long time. Your emotions get the best of you as you put a crack into the glass cell but collapse from exertion.

'Acedia' marveled at the shifting in the glass, shying away from the lambent hologram projected before her...but, despite this; she could not comprehend the voice coming across to her. It sounded human and in a tongue that 131 could well understand, under other circumstances; but her tongue was cumbersome and her ears uncooperative. She continued to be close to the glass, crystal clear tears forming at the edges of her eyes. She wanted to weep...to thrash and drive the creature's eyes away from the piteous monstrosity.

Instead, she moved her claws quickly; one resting with its palm flat against the glass, again, to steady herself against the strange disorientation rolling through her extremeties. The other grasped at the semi-substantial panel of light that had appeared before her. She opened her mouth, trying to form words as a human might...instead, finding in the depths of her throat, and heart, only a deep and sullen silence. She wished she could have made a noise...to find a single word to give the only thing that had deigned to speak with her in what felt like a slowly trickling eternity. She covered her face with massive, yet malformed hands unbefitting of her wispy frame and shrank away; twitching at her shoulders and down her spine. Her movements were uneven, hobbled as she paced in a semi-circle before the 'window'.

Why does it speak to me...what does it want...why can't I say anything...I wish it would look away...

Grimacing, she backed away slowly, the talons of her feet scraping against the cold metal...an echo, harsh in the azure tinged tenebrous depths of her cell. Confusion had set in and she turned her head back to the woman staring in at her. Confusion and a distant sense of despair. She was nothing more than a dying rat to whatever stared at her...nothing more than a cast-away monstrosity with no true purpose remaining.

Is it a test? Have I already failed...no, she admonished herself, recollecting again the razor-wrapped past, I have already become a failure...that's why...this is something different. Despite herself, she lowered herself to the ground; staring at the one who spoke from the deeper recesses of her cell. What else can they take from me? Her claws lashed out and clashed uselessly against the metal; spreading sparks as she slammed them again and again in her frustration. Her mouth opened, working furiously; though for all the effort she put forth...only raspy growls and whimpers came out of her...and finally a sob; a sound that disgusted her, causing her to wrap herself again in monstrous arms, turning her face away.

1-2) You find the creature's reaction to confirm that it is a failed experiment, seemingly incapable of exhibiting human-like qualities. While this does not diminish your interest in the mystery surrounding its inaccessible data, you feel nothing towards the creature otherwise.

3-4) 'Acedia' becomes something of a curiosity to you, given its apparent confusion and resistance to your aura. It may be useful as a study in Gynoid resilience...but you feel a strange hesitance to pursue that line of reasoning.

5-7) Noticing the tears shed by 131, you feel a sense of pity for the contained mutant and attempt to lessen your aura's influence against it; trying again for communication.

8-9)
MOMO releases her aura's hold over Acedia, allowing for the two of them to speak.

10) Dr.
Ugo makes his appearance, notified of MOMO's presence in E Sector.

Each movement that the mutant made was noted, each strain of information gained from the current experienced traveled strains of data web rapidly. Collecting information was being added rapidly in her database. It's eyes watched the unknown liquid weep from the pathetic eyes of the mutant. Signs of emotions that the gynoid was not familiar with, and wanted to mimic to understand. But there was no information found on how to within the database. The connection of the mutant wanting to engage by placing it's palm on the glass, long bone driven claws tower above them.

One thirty one stepped away, closing herself up which made the gynoid nearly press it's face against the glass watching it's every movement.

"Emotional Data of 131 Unstable, Possible Danger, Caution Advised."

The creature begun to lash out striking the metal walls, sparks flew in dangerous motive. Information processing begun to overload the memory. Then the creature stared back briefly then completely closed itself away from the gynoid. This was not satisfactory to it as it wanted more information, it wanted to know more. The transmitter panel was disabled and the pieces of the robotic finger was reassembled into it's hand. This was not enough, it was time to go further into it's own conducted research...

"Opening Cell Number 14...

Occupant 131..."

The glass begun to open on it's own like a jagged edge to it's own puzzle. Standing before the mutant was the gynoid with nothing between them. A sense of freedom could of been had if there was an earlier moment.

"Emergency Shut Down, Access Code 0016A!"

The voice echoed down the hall with a sense of hostility, perhaps even worried. It was of a male, and there was only one in this building of hell. The gynoid's eyes went dark like a light that has been switched off, the body went limp as it fell to the ground making a large metallic cling. No emotion could be found in the face that was now dormant, frozen in time. Dr.Ugo came rushing towards the fallen gynoid and forced the cell doors to close immediately before anything could escape. He begins to pick up the lifeless body that laid on the ground, his dark, brown eyes looked into the cell.A white, stained science coat covered most of the Doctors body though it appeared it has not been washed in some time. Black greasy hair, tangled in a bundle and looked like a few rats could of been living inside. Standing up straight with the gynoid in his arms like a dead corpse with his gaze into the cell unmoved.

"What could have caused MOMO to act so out of line? There is nothing special about you mutant."

**When Dr.Ugo arrives.

1 or 2: You are unable to do anything other than howl and scream.

3-5: You can only manage to say something out of anger, even rush into the closing glass but it's closed by the time you get to it.

6-8: You rush up to the closing glass and are able to damage it however, you are still left behind the doors. But you cannot speak.

9-10: You have found strength to damage the doors as you scream out in rage. You may engage through verbal acts. 5>5< If you roll a five or under, you have lost a piece of your bone finger (things..) If you roll a five or over, you manage to grab Dr.Ugo but the doors shut on your hand immediately with great force. You lost your hand.

Something in her chest grew tight and tense in the darkness as the glass became segmented and moved away. The eye on her chest, though blinded by the sift, grew wide in anticipation; its gaze darting erratically in every direction, swirling and trying to get a lock on whatever had sent this shock through Colette. It moved the cloth of her ill-suited attire with each shift of its gaze, setting her fingers to flexing and her throat into an almost strangulating tightness. She swallowed hard, though her mouth hang agape thereafter. The woman, so different, so serene, had actually come closer to her.

No! She wanted to scream, she felt herself fighting down a violent impulse in an attempt to drive her away, only managing to hold her arms before her; fingers laced to form a grotesque shield with her monstrous limbs. Stay back! You're not supposed to be here! All that emerged was a piteous whine that tapered into a low, unimposing growl as she slid back; keeping her arm-barrier raised, staring through the small gaps between her razor-edged claws. She trembled, the taut muscles of her arms sending a quiver through her that clacked the digits together involuntarily. The hair on her neck stood on end as she continued stepping backwards, until, finally, she was pressed against the chilly steel of the wall.

It was then a voice rang out, low and husky...like burning velvet draped over chipped steel. Immediately, 131 one moved forward; the eye on her chest widened, adrenaline pumping through her. Her fingers unlaced and she lurched forward, stopping mid-stride as the man gathered up the woman who'd entered her prison; disgust plain on his face. His words were acid to her, scathing away the fragile layers of her heart with their spite.

"You...I remember you..."

The first words to pass her lips in an eternity were baleful and laced with malice. Ragged and hoarse from disuse, they came out as a phlegmy whisper; her claws clacking together in anticipation as she threw herself forward at the ragged man who'd haunted her nightmares.

"What did you do to her?!"

[Not quite done yet. Will finish shortly.]
