hey hey heyyy
You can call me giggs, I'm old as hell(27, he/him) and haven't RPed in a hot minute but have been really craving getting back into the hobby lately, so here I am. It's my first time on this site, but I was forged in the fiery crucible of GaiaOnline as a youth and spent WAY too much time RPing there, so I certainly know my way around a 1x1 :')
I'm past the point where I'm looking for 7 paragraph posts 8 times a day. I like it short n sweet and whenever I have the time or energy. Aka I like to post a couple paragraphs once a day or so, maybe more if I'm feeling spicy or like procrastinating
Also, I'm super lax with grammar and stuff ooc(clearly, i type like a maniac), but ic I'm kind of a stickler for it. Just know how to put a sentence together and we'll be golden lmaoo
I'm lookin for 1x1 gay shit of the fantasy or sci-fi varieties. Modern slice of life stuff ain't for me. I'm a slut for dark fantasy, gothic horror, and cyberpunk nonsense. I'm also always looking for romance, but love a good balance between actual plot and the focus on the relationship.
I'm also a slut for the enemies to lovers trope, rivalries, forbidden love, all that bullshit.
I like characters that have strong personalities and mine are often pretty big bastards, rapscallions, hellions, and dare I say, downright scoundrels. I find it more interesting when big personalities butt heads rather than there being one loud asshole and one more passive uwu femboy so if you're looking for a big strong seme to dominate your precious :3 ~uke~ then please look elsewhere.
also i like using irl faceclaims unless people are playing elves and shit like that
For the most part I'm looking for original stuff and am not interested in fandoms, with a few exceptions. No canon characters tho
If you wanna do some gay stuff in these worlds, then I'd absolutely be down:
Bloodborne/Dark Souls/Sekiro/Elden Ring (I'll bend my no canon characters clause for FromSoftware games because I do love Artorias and Godrick and Genichiro and all those fuckin creeps lmao)
Dungeons and Dragons (Forgotten Realms specifically)
Yakuza
Spire: The City Must Fall(long shot but hey)
Dishonored/Blades in the Dark
I don't really have any limits insofar as stuff that I consider off limits- I like when shit gets dark and challenging in places. Even in non-smut heavy RPs where plot is the focus, I do enjoy a good smut scene, and my tastes run dark in that regard as well. So please don't reach out unless you're 21+, I am too old to entertain the youth
Also I fuckin LOVE world building, but specifically, I like world building with my partner. I like chattin and bein friendly- i've RPed with people before where they just post and never talk to me ever and like where's the fun in that? I like talking about what we're doing, what we're planning, gushing about our characters being stupid, and just chattin about shit in general. It's a hobby and I may be an asshole but I like making friends is that so WRONG /s
Here's the plot garbage section where I dump some of the ideas I've had kicking around and hope they don't sound terrible.

Far in the future, man has begun to conquer the stars. Humans have colonized other scattered planets throughout the galaxy, harvesting new resources to push their technology further than ever before.
Humanity's crowning achievement is the Nova Gear: a mech-warrior framework capable of operating terrestrially, aquatically, aerially- as well as in the cold vacuum of space. They are infinitely customizable and capable of a wide variety of tasks, able to be miners, scouts, repair units, infantry, submariners, supply runners…the Nova Gear has transformed life for millions of people. For better and for worse.
The spearhead of human progress is the United Federation, a coalition of Earth countries who have maintained a stranglehold on the production, development and distribution of Nova Sentinels. A large part of their domination over the galaxy is their control over the Black Gears: a culmination of bleeding edge, controversial Nova Gear technology. The Black Gears are unparalleled in strength, speed, and maneuverability, outclassing all other known Nova Gear models. They are owned by United Technology, a megacorporation based in the United States, and the mere threat of a Black Gear being deployed is enough to give any country or corporation pause, despite there being only eight of them.
The reason Black Gears are so rare is not only because they're prohibitively expensive, but also due to the technology used to pilot them. Black Gear pilots must be equipped with a PsyDrive, a surgically implanted device that allows them to interface with their mech mentally, rather than physically. Having a PsyDrive implanted is technically illegal, highly dangerous, and those with one inside them often go on to exhibit psychic abilities as a side effect. Not just anyone can handle becoming a Black Gear pilot- or is willing to. Only the best of the best are accepted from a specialized training facility known as Zero Station.
Zero Station is a US military black site orbiting Earth where potential Black Gear pilot candidates are housed, trained, and consistently monitored. Starting at age 17, young men and women are taken and brutally trained for four straight years to become Black Gear pilots. Each 'class' has 75 students, but only four will go on to even have the opportunity to become a pilot at the end of their time at Zero Station.
Characters A and B are newly accepted pilots-in-training at Zero Station. Whether they knew each other beforehand or not, Zero Station is not a place to make friends- trainees aren't encouraged to bond with one another. Instead they are pitted against one another, constantly compared to their contemporaries, and constantly reminded that only four of them will ever have an opportunity to achieve their goals. It is a cold, ruthless place where young men and women are left cold and isolated in space for years and encouraged to hate each other, just for a chance to be a pawn in a corporation's game of galactic chess.
Character A has a lot to prove. He's from a long line of distinguished military Nova Gear pilots- hell, maybe one of his parents is even a Black Gear pilot. He's passionate about making his family proud and doesn't intend to let them down by failing out of the Zero Station program, no matter how difficult it is.
Character B has dreamed of this his entire life. He comes from nothing, and was destined to be nothing, but worked his way up to the point where he managed to get accepted to Zero Station. He's never wanted to be a Nova Gear pilot- he wants to be the best Nova Gear pilot in the galaxy, and knows that can only be possible piloting a Black Gear.
The two of them are pitted against each other by the higher ups of Zero Station and form an intense rivalry, convinced only one of them can make it at the end.
But while the students of Zero Station battle it out amongst one another, discontent brews in the galaxy. A force is growing to challenge the iron reign of the United Federation. The Order of the Black Star rises, and the tide of rebellion rises with it. They crave an equal battlefield; they crave a figurehead; they crave defectors. Especially defectors with access to Black Gears…
This would take place over years as the characters start out hating each other, grow closer, then potentially get ripped apart as they take sides in a budding war that's gonna fuck everything up

Hella angsty vampire hunter/vampire
Hurt/Comfort, tragedy, angst, love/hate, probably toxic relationship vampires are pretty toxic
Character A and Character B were soulmates. Friends since childhood, they grew up together, discovered love together, and eventually set out to adventure across the wide world together. Life wasn't easy, but they made due, and were always happy so long as they had one another. Over the years, they even managed to make a name for themselves as dependable local heroes.
But then, tragedy struck. While delving into an ancient dungeon searching for an artifact of apparent legend, Character B was struck down: killed almost immediately by one of the dungeon's guardians. Character A was despondent, sure he was unable to go on without his beloved.
But then, he heard whispers. A voice promised him a way to bring his partner back- all he had to do was follow the voice's instructions deeper into the dungeon. It promised to keep him safe and, heartbroken and unsure of what else to do, Character A agreed. He took B's body further into the dungeon, traveling deeper and deeper until the shadows felt thick and heavy all around him.
Then he found a light. A singular red light pierced through the darkness, and he followed it. The light was coming from a crimson orb on an altar of black obsidian. The voice told A to put B's body on the altar, and so he did. B's body was suffused with red light, and within minutes, he returned to life.
Initially they were both overjoyed, and they quickly got out of the dungeon. But ever since then, B had been…different. Over the next few weeks his demeanor changed, his appearance became more pallid, and he complained of constant hunger no matter how much he ate.
Character A realized what happened when he woke up one night to find B missing. Tracking him down, he found him hunched over an innocent townsperson with their neck torn open, ravenously consuming their blood.
He had become a monster. No…A had turned him into a monster.
They tried to make it work. They tried to find a cure. But unfortunately, there was no cure, and vampirism not only affected the body, but the mind of the victim. B became more cold, callous, sadistic, and A couldn't stand what he was becoming. When B fully embraced his vampiric nature, they officially became enemies. As B became a terror, a blight on the land, A dedicated his life to taking him down- as a mercy to the man B once was, if nothing else.
That was decades ago. A grew older, more skilled. B entrenched himself as a vampire lord, managing to spread his plague to willing and unwilling minions and spawn. They've crossed paths many a time over the years, and A has had many opportunities to end B's unlife. But despite everything, he still hasn't found the strength to destroy the love of his life- to finally let him go.
TLDR: Two gay idiots go dungeon crawling. One dies, the other resurrects him but accidentally turns him into a vampire. Vampire goes full evil and other idiot spends the rest of his life hunting him down and trying to kill him- but love keeps getting in the way because it's cringe. Open to playing either character.

Art school gays meet cosmic/gothic horror
Doubling, rivalry, love triangle/square, student/professor, occult bullshit, obsession, historical setting, age gap
CW: abuse, potential infidelity, mental illness, discrimination(homophobia and racism probably, it takes place in the 1920s)
It's 1924 in Boston, MA. Character A has wanted to be an artist all his life, but he was born into poverty and expected to continue on with his family's meager business. Eventually he convinces his parents to let him enroll in college, and he's accepted into the prestigious Miskatonic School of Fine Art with a full scholarship paying him through the program.
He finds himself rooming with Character B, the son of a world-famous painter and a prodigy artist in his own right. Character B seems perfect- smart, kind, charismatic, funny, and immensely talented- and Character A struggles to measure up, constantly comparing himself to Character B and the rest of the students. Despite that, they become fast friends.
Meanwhile, a new professor has taken over as head of the art department while the former head recovers from an unfortunate accident: Character C. He's an incredibly strict teacher with an almost unnatural grace and ease to everything he does, and possesses inhuman levels of skill and knowledge. Character A is instantly bewitched by the man, finding him fascinating and inspiring.
Character C takes special interest in both A and B, able to see their innate talent and keen to use it to his advantage. For C, it's not a matter of finding a protégé or someone to take under his wing: it's a matter of finding the one who can lift his curse. He is not a man- he's a creature. An eldritch being from beyond the stars capable of miracles and ruin. He graced this planet long ago, but was imprisoned in a mortal shell and cursed to reincarnate, again and again, to keep the world safe. Over centuries he has been plotting ways to undo his curse, but has been thwarted at nearly every opportunity by the ones that put him here in the first place: The Silver Order.
The Silver Order is a secretive cult dedicated to protecting the world by any means necessary. It is led by Character D, who is also the current Chancellor of Miskatonic University. Maintaining the curse over Character C requires regular human sacrifice- and ever since his arrival, students have started to go missing around campus. Some suspect C, others think it's a coincidence, and others more are secret members of the Silver Order and are trying to keep everything under wraps.
Working as subtly as he can, Character C is working to build up A and B to see if one of them can assist in lifting his curse. A is much more susceptible to C's methods- C promises him the world and more, offers to teach him dark secrets to help him further increase his skill and reach his dreams.
Meanwhile, B is recruited into the Silver Order and shown the truth, but A's growing obsession with C begins to drive a wedge between them. B and D have to stop A from doing what C wants him to: a prolonged ritual in which A peeks past the veil of C's human form and sees him for what he truly is. If he can see him without going mad and paint a portrait of his true form, then the curse will be weakened enough that C will finally be free.
TLDR: A and B are art students, C is an eldritch horror trapped in a human body, and D is part of the order trying to keep him trapped. A and B are likely to date until A eventually falls for C. C and D probably have that spicy "have probably hatefucked before" sexual tension.
I'm partial to playing B and C. Doubling not required but I think it makes things a lot more messy and interesting lol.

Victorian Gothic Gaslamp Fantasy
Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Action, Horror
CW: body horror, violence and gore
The year is 1888. The Black Death never left- it merely went into hiding until people had a chance to forget about it. And while it hid, it changed. Now, the plague rises again, but it does not just kill: it changes. It mutates those infected into terrible, ruinous creatures, as if seeking revenge on humanity for beating it back the first time.
This method proved much more effective. The new plague spread across the world, rapidly mutating into different strains to adapt to different regions.
So the world came together, establishing uneasy peace long enough to create the first Royal Undercollege in London, England. The Royal Undercollege was founded to train the next generations of Plague Doctors: specialized hunters-slash-medical-professionals who dedicated their lives to protecting and aiding others against the Plague.
Plague Doctors are trained in a very harsh, rigid way. Their main strength is the Ritual of Inoculation, which has each student slowly introduce the disease into their bodies in a very strict, controlled way. Over the course of five years, they work to build tolerance towards the diseases and exert mastery over them through mystic and scientific means. This leads to the Rite of Initiation: the full force of the plague is introduced into their bodies. If they can overcome it and keep it under control, they graduate and become plague doctors. If either plague gets the better of them, they are euthanized. Aside from the mask, the fastest way to spot a plague doctor is to look at their eyes: each doctor has one golden eye, a sign that they've encountered and overcome the plague and are qualified to treat it.
Due to the fact that they are hosts for the disease, doctors are forced to take an oath of celibacy to prevent spread to any unwitting parties. In addition, though their mastery over the plagues grants them a fragment of the infection's positive benefits, there is still no cure. So, eventually, they will be overwhelmed by one strain or another, and have to be put down. This is not considered a bad thing amongst plague doctors; it's considered an achievement to reach the point of having to welcome death honorably rather than to die in the field.
The characters are two such Plague Doctors who met while studying at the Royal Undercollege. One comes from privilege(A) while one is there due to having nowhere else to go(B). A is lauded as a prodigy and comes from a long line of Plague Doctors, while everyone assumed B would drop out before finishing his first year. The two grow close over their years of stressful training. Upon graduating, they undergo the Rite of Initiation, and A succeeds with no issue. B, however, struggles, and is eventually overcome by plague. In a panic, A rushes in to try and stabilize him, but the overseers declare there's nothing to be done. A begs to be the one to euthanize B, and then makes the decision to break out of the Undercollege with B, instantly turning them both into fugitives.
A manages to stabilize B to an extent, but B is stuck in a state between man and beast, cursed with a hunger for human flesh but possessing immense strength, speed, and stamina. Together they become "freelance" plague doctors, frantically searching for a cure while still pledging to help hunt down and euthanize plague beasts while dodging the hunters from the Undercollege that are after them.
Prey Drive is actually a personal IP of mine, so i have a shitton of lore and stuff for the world, creatures, institutions, etc. too much to post here lmao

Dark fantasy descent into madness
Hurt/comfort, political intrigue, war, power dynamics, devotion
CW: mental illness, potentially unhealthy relationship/abuse
Many years ago, a man stole a fragment of divinity, and became into a god himself. With this power, he conquered half the world, and brought peace to it. He was known as the God King, and many thought him infallible. His rule was a solitary one: he was not one for advisors and councils, for he knew what wanted, and how to take it.
It was not surprising when he eventually took a wife and had a child- nor was it surprising that he was as cold and distant a father as he was a ruler.
A is the child of the God King, the prince raised in his long, daunting shadow.
B is his childhood friend, the son of a minor noble of a conquered country. When he came of age, he joined the ranks of the Kingsguard, and eventually was assigned to be the prince's personal bodyguard.
They were always fond of one another- A had few friends, and B was much the same, so they found comfort in one another's presence.
Neither of them were prepared when the God King met his untimely end. Assassinated in his bed, murdered on the eve of his son's 18th birthday.
The death of the God King rocked the world, and A's world was shattered. Within days he was forced to take up his father's mantle, becoming king of his vast kingdom without a clue how to rule it. B tried to support his new king as best he could, but it quickly became evident that the pressure was becoming too much for the young man.
Conquered nations began to rebel, and others began encroaching on A's sprawling empire. Someone was clearly after the crown, causing A to become more paranoid and fearful of anyone but B. B could only watch helplessly as A retreated from the world- but then, A began to hear whispers of divinity. Of a way to measure up to the might of his father and reclaim the glory of his empire. B is skeptical of these voices A is hearing, fearing them something more devious…but his devotion to his king outweighs all, and they set out to fulfill A's desires of godhood no matter the cost.
Their relationship will probably start out healthy and wholesome and degrade into something much more unhealthy, but where everything ends up I have no idea and I'm excited to find out lol

Cyberpunk superhero/villain
Love/hate, secret identities, action, terrorism, hot guys tryna kill each other but kissing instead
Humanity has entered its next age.
Decades and decades into the future, genetic mutations have begun to appear in people that give them incredible abilities. Super speed, super strength, flight, telekinesis- things that only existed in movies and comics were now a reality. About one in every 500,000 people are born with some form of this new mutation, ranging from somewhat minor increases in strength or dexterity to immensely powerful mental and physical abilities.
The world was quick to turn the strongest among these people into commodities. It was only a matter of time before terrible people received these incredible gifts and misused them, leading to a drastic uptick in violent crime and terrorism.
Thus, humanity's age of heroes began. Companies and governments turned high-powered men and women into icons, heroes dedicated to stamping out high-powered criminals and terrorists- of which there were many in many different countries. Heroes were celebrities: they got sponsors, they were gossiped about, they dealt with scandals, all while dealing with the burdens placed on them by their abilities. Many made their identities public knowledge, but a select few chose to remain anonymous, living out regular lives in between fighting back humanity's perceived evils.
Of course, the rest of the world saw this and grew discontent with the power imbalance. They wanted to catch up. And so technology provided the way forward for the rest of humanity. Cybernetic implants and prosthetic replacements caught up to high-powered individuals' levels of ability, and even managed to surpass them in some instances. Now both good and evil had access to two avenues of power: natural born and augmented.
Character A has been close with Character B since childhood. They grew up together, and over the course of their lives, they found themselves on drastically different paths without even knowing it. Both of them hide behind a veil of anonymity to go about their other lives: A is a masked, natural born hero, and B is a notorious, yet anonymous, augmented villain. They each detest what the other stands for and have been waging war across the city for years, oblivious to the fact that they're dear friends when the masks come off. But if the masks were to come off in the heat of battle, would anything change? Would they reconcile, or would their secret differences tear them completely apart?
TLDR: Hero/villain where they're either good friends or dating during the day and beating the shit out of each other as hero and villain at night. Might be interesting if they have a totally innocent relationship but a lot of sexual tension as hero/villain. Or maybe they're dating and that hero/villain sexual tension is still there leading to them cheating on each other with each other lmao. Who knoooows this one's really open ended cause it's very character focused. I'd prefer Character B.
