I'm Jett and I have several years of experience with roleplaying. I bought Hogwarts Legacy when it first came out, but really didn't play it that much. Recently picked it up again and find myself enjoying it quite a bit. Additionally, I've already seen much of the original movies and read 5 out of the 7 books. I'm not a complete Harry Potter universe expert, but I get the gist of it, ha! What I am looking for is something focused at Ilvermorny at the American institution.
Some things to consider before reaching out:
- Preference for a literate partner that is capable of writing multiple paragraphs (or novella posts) but also understand when shorter posts are necessary to further the plot along.
- 21+ partners, please. Honestly, the older the better because that's more of my speed. Someone who understands the balance between real life and in-character.
- Fundamental knowledge of the Harry Potter series. You don't have to know every single detail, but a foundational knowledge would be great.
- Willingness and competence to write side characters in addition to our main two OCs.
- Romance in some capacity. It isn't the driving point of the RP itself, but it does provide something additional to plot.
- Character sheets are not required prior to the RP. I find that CS's tend to hinder RPs from actually starting, so I like waiting a little bit before creating those. A simple discussion about our characters will suffice.
- A Modern Ilvermorny Story - So I have a foundational understanding as to how Ilvermorny came to be and how it was founded by a Witch and a No-Maj. My thinking is that we could pick up with our own story in modern times and have something of a political plot. There could be alumni that feel as if the quality and value of the magical education of Ilvermorny has diminished due to the democratic nature of the academy's admission process. Other schools have a bit more of an elitist mindset and with Ilvermorny perception in the magic realm, maybe new leadership is hoping to make a change for the better (in their eyes)? This could ruffle a few feathers of some of the current or even incoming students as administration could be seeking to "downsize" enrollment for the sake of quality. Maybe certain types of students have random "gone missing" or worse. Of course, this idea isn't completely fleshed out, but I think a classic detective/mystery-solving magic adventure over the course of our characters' time at Ilvermorny could be a fun long term roleplay. I'm open to discussing ideas!
