Name || Khys
Age || Technically like... 118?
Gender || Female
Race || Hylian
S.O. || It doesn't really matter to her all that much, so... pan?
Personality || Hardworking and determined, Khys is much more of an "action first, talk later" kind of person, and it definitely shows in her fighting style. Even if she doesn't remember anything, her training and muscle memory tells her enough to let her know that she's strong enough to be confident in herself and her fighting abilities. Most of the time, Khys becomes so focused on what she's doing or who she's guarding, that she doesn't even bother to think of herself or her own feelings. She'd rather be concerned about others than let them be concerned over her, which is why she gets so flustered if anyone tries to to take care of and/or protect her.
If you take off the mask of the battle-soldier, Khys is actually just a young woman who never got to live her life to the fullest. She gets excited by the smallest of things, is often swarmed by children for no apparent reason, and is someone who is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Unfortunately for her, she's always first to blame herself for things going wrong, and tends to drown herself in her responsibility, neglecting her own feelings and even the need to take care of herself. She's far too selfless for her own good sometimes.
History || Khys' mother died in childbirth, so her father was stuck raising her on his own, which was a difficult task. Khys had always been curious about the natural world, and longed to explore Hyrule's vast lands ever since she was little, but her fate was sealed from the moment she was born. Her father was a high ranking knight who served as one of King Rhoam's personal guard. When Khys was born with the Hyrulian seal tattooed to her back, it was taken as a sign that she was the child destined to guard the Hyrulian Champion who would eventually fell the evil calamity Ganon. About a year later, with the birth of the Princess, it was decided that Khys would undergo rigorous training in order to be one of the Princess' own personal bodyguards.
Khys and the Princess were rather close. Zelda was the only person Khys really talked to, and upon discovering the fact that she would have to train Link to be one of Zelda's bodyguards as well, they both were rather put out by this fact. Khys was quicker to come around to the blonde, considering he was her age, and the fact that he was an admirably courageous individual, if not a little clumsy and aloof. After training him for awhile, Khys no longer began to see him as the fool who was seemingly taking over her job, but as a close friend who needed the occasional bit of guidance.
When King Rhoam announced the arrival of the Champion selections, as well as naming Link as the Hero of Legend, their whole world seemed to slowly crumble apart, and Calamity Ganon ripped everything apart at the seems.
Khys took a blow for Link, rendering her near-death. Link then took a blow for Zelda, and Impa and Purah made the quick decision to put both the Hero and his Guardian into chambers of resurrection until they could once again face off against the evil. Zelda sealed Ganon away with herself, and the world passed 100 years without them...
Khys was woken up about a half a year too early when the Shrine of Resurrection she was slumbering in was raided by Yiga Clan Members. They cut up her face and her leg, and Gerudo women arrived just in time to keep them from killing her. One of the jewelry makers in town was able to work with a blacksmith and made her the best working prosthetic light-weight leg they could, which she conceals with her tall boot-covers. A Rito in league with Impa and the Sheikah by the name of Kass flew her to the Great Plateau, where she was tasked with waiting for the hero to wake up...
