It had been two years since the world was turned upside down. Chaos was the best way to described the state of life now. Everything, everyone had known, was gone. Uncountable deaths, missing people and healthy minds driven to insanity. Nobody was safe, there was no where to run and if you had managed to survive, it was only a matter of time.
Haven Heights High-school. One of the few places to manage to survive. For some reason, it had running water and electricity. A handful of the staff had managed to survive. Including the principal, a few teachers, the janitor and the school doctor. The students have suffered a lot too. Many of them keep trying to communicate with their family and friends, people who are probably dead. A lot of the students and some staff members did die trying to go out and collect supplies on the nearby town.
They invented a test and move system. Using bait to try and figure out where it was safe to walk on and were it wasn't. Unfortunately, that's still not enough to move through the invisible predators outside. They tried big groups, small groups, short runs, long ones, even marking the safe spots. But, sooner or later their plans didn't work and some groups would not return at all. The principal and staff were still in charge, something that happened without planning. Nobody wanted to question it either, they were focused on trying to find a way to be safe. Starving was slowly becoming a reality, until Spirit arrived.
Nobody knows where it came from, but it saved their lives. Students began to notice that water faucets began to release drops in a certain rhythm. At first they thought it was a funny coincidence, until some students started playfully asking questions and realized it was actually answering yes or no. The group began to get help form it on supply runs. It worked perfectly. The water, poured into a water bottle, would let them know when they were heading into danger. Allowing the group to swerve between the invisible predators. The school began to easily gather supplies and the school started to feel more like a shelter. Until, one day, Spirit was just gone.
As the days passed and supplies were starting to run low, questions about who would risk running for supplies began to emerge. The students began to team up and plan to overtake the adults and staff of the school, while the principa's secret circle planned how to take over the school permanently. Some teachers were stuck in the middle, trying to work together with everyone. Things were heating up, people were hungry and angry. The principal had taken custody of the food and students were preparing to kill them in order to get it. Just then, tthe shout of their roof lookout attracted everyone to the windows facing the southern side of the school property.
On the open football field was a red headed girl, running through it. She made odd turns and would stop for a bit before bursting into a sprint once again. Not only was the girl not being torn to shreds by whatever invisible thing or things lurked outside, but she seemed to know exactly where it was safe to stop and which way was the best to run through. What was more surprising, not even with Spirit, had the school group ever dared go through the south, since it was simply impossible to go through. If you looked closely, you could still see clothing and shoes from former victims all over the place. Still, this mysterious girl kept running and running until finally, she reached the main doors to the school building.
Her hand banging on the doors could be heard through most of the school. The students and staff ran towards the back entrance, which was reached first by the school janitor. As soon as he opened the door, the man screamed and fell to the floor. At the doorway stood the redheaded girl with a string of water, taking the shape of some snake, making loud hissing sounds, floating around her. The girl held up her hands in surrender while the water snake began to spread above her.
