Prologue: The Wish of a Non-Believer

"Ugh, why does Mr. Kagami give homeworks every single time?" an exasperated sigh came from Haruka as she enters her room after a tiring day at school. Her day was what you call ordinary, waking up, sluggishly getting up, making the bed, eating breakfast, taking a shower, getting dressed up,heading for school, having attendance checked, lectures, quizzes, lunch break, continue on with the lectures and random surprise quizzes then heading home. Ordinary. Young 16 year old Haruka Hirai had been undergoing this endless loop of 'ordinary' days that she could swear that it's carved into her own life. After letting down her things, she plumply laid down in bed, sighing yet again at how boring things were. (Though aware that studying is boring, Haruka never called it as 'boring')


"There's nothing special about me, there's nothing special about life." she murmured to herself as she slowly rolls on her comfy bed. "Plain." she said as she stares at the plain white paint of her ceiling, Life is surely plain she thought, carefully getting up to get ready to do her homework. Haruka took a short peek out of her window as she stood up from her small bed,as she wanted to see more however, she approached the window and looked up at the beautiful night sky which was almost spaceless due to the mass number of stars scattering, opening her window to let the cool night breeze in. Enjoying the moment as the slow and gentle wind touches her skin with it slowly allowing her hair to flow, she caught sight of something peculiar. "..Oh?" a shooting star darted through the darkness of the sky, the view caught made her breathless but it wasn't really something that unusual. "It happens, those shooting stars. It's nothing unusual it's just rare but still plain. Astronomy says so." she said,going back to her usual self. "Sigh, not like those can really grant wishes though, if it can, people would've gotten rich all of a sudden and there'd be something like fish walking on water." she added. Now satisfied with her stargazing, she closed her windows and proceeded to doing her initial task.


After homework





"Whew, finally." Haruka had already finished her english homework. "That was actually quite easy but oooomf!" Haruka stretched her arms after finishing her homework and had been drained out of all the physical and mental activity she had been doing the whole day. Closing her notes, she laid down in bed and had tucked herself to sleep. "Boring...eh?" she said to herself, as she slowly closed her eyes and began to enter a deep slumber.


As she opened her eyes, she was in a wide open space, filled with nothing but stars all around her. The beauty of the scenery made Haruka's eyes gape in its beauty. Amazed in the magnificence of the scenery, a voice caught her attention. "Oi, Haruka!" the voice came from behind her. "Hm? Who was that?" she turned to see who was the source of the voice. "Heheh, no one you know." the guy's green eyes sparkled among the stars, Haruka's heart beated faster as she stares at the man. "What is it? Haha." he flicked his nose and came closer to Haruka. "Sorry, though, I'm just a dream, a figment of your sub-concious but Haruka," The brown haired guy stared at Haruka's eyes "You're more beautiful even with these stars combined." the words were like heaven to Haruka, not that she knew if that's real but if she were to describe what she was feeling, she could say that she was in heaven, her legs began to shake as if she was standing on solid ground, she hugged the guy as tight as she could. "No!" she shouted out. "This can't be a dream...This has to be real. You have to be real." the guy only smiled at her as tears began to form around her eyes. "I wish you were real." she muttered.

Ace smiled as Haruka came into focus from the dream machine. His job was given by the Stars, which was too make dreams and just make the civilians happy. It felt so long since Ace had been on solid ground. He wondered if anyone actually missed him from his past-life. Everything he dreamed himself, he could feel the impact of the glass and metal against his skin. It was almost as if it was happening all over again. Ace had settled into his new life quite quickly. His days were spent by just strolling around in the clouds endlessly, exploring the very limit of his imagination; But when it came to night, Everything immediately went serious. Some people would say he was like Father Christmas, travelling through everyone's dream everyday. Ace had always kept it a secret that he waited for Haruka's dream to come. It was almost like an elevator, pressing thousands and thousands of buttons just to make everyone happy. He would travel into the mind of the person, making all of their wishes and bucket lists come true in only 12 hours. It was a hard job, but Ace enjoyed it thoroughly.


"Oi, Haruka!" Ace shouted out, trying to get Haruka's attention. He examined her closely, traveling into her mind and gathering all the information needed. Ace smiled, walking up to her and inpected her more closely. The only thing Haruka wanted was to have a lover, someone who would stay by her side no matter what. Although she would deny it, it was always on her mind. He turned close to her more, only about an inch away. Ace flirted with her, trying to make her wish come slightly true. He smiled at her as tears began to form in her eyes, embraced in a tight hug. And then, It was done. "Next..." Ace muttered angrily, wishing for Haruka to be in his arms again...


AFTER DREAM SHIFT

Ace opened his eyes, ready to collapse on his own cloud of smoke. He stopped though, looking up at his surroundings. This wasn't where he was meant to be. He panicked, thinking Am I fired? A booming voice came from all around the room. "Do not worry, Ace. You have not..." Ace nodded his head, understanding that this must be a person of high importance. "Haruka, Your favourite..." Ace blushed lightly. "Does not believe in magic...whether it's the magic of love or adventure, she does not believe." Ace nodded his head, still unsure of what he must do. "You must change this. Good Luck." In a fraction of a second, Ace experienced a falling sensation. Thump! With the impact of a hard materiel, Ace fell unconscious.

Chapter 1: 'The stars gave me you? Nice try!'

Haruka slowly opened her eyes, "Hr-hrrmnn..?" it had appeared that she woke up exactly 45 minutes before her alarm. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness, her eyes were slowly fixated on the plain ceiling of her room, as she did she placed her hands over her heart. "It was a dream..." The reality felt cruel to her. Well, it always had felt that way for her for a long time now but this one felt different. It was a whole new feeling of cruelty for her, it was that feeling you get whenever you were sure you were going to get something really great for Christmas but it turns out, you get socks. Is this what they mean by 'False Hope'? Haruka didn't enjoy the feeling at all, that false feeling of security, achievement and of success. At she continued on with those thoughts she grabbed hold of her extra pillow and began hugging it tightly as she try to understand her feelings.


Her eyes felt as if they were still yearning for that man in her dreams, with the thought of the man quickly pitching into her mind, she grabbed hold of a small, star-shaped notebook. Written on the notebook are the dreams that Haruka had everytime. She had read in a book one time that since dreams are often completely forgotten 15 minutes after just standing up from bed you have to keep notes of it exactly after you wake up, which is what she's doing now. Her plain and boring life only gets meaning from the wonderful dreams she always have. For her, her dreams are the only magical things existing in the world and yet, she can't think of it that way since there's an explanation with how dreams work. Science has proven, science has tested. Therefore, it can't be 'magic'. She shifted her position, rolling a little bit over to the right where she could face her entire room from the side where her bed is placed.


With her eyes already adjusted to the darkness of her room, she could see someone laid down on her floor. It must Toshio~ she had just assumed that it was her brother, maybe came back drunk again after hanging with friends. She disliked going out just to drink. Whenever she heard a couple of her classmates talking about their first times drinking they always answered the same thing mostly, "Oh, I was just curious!" they'd always say, and whenever they do, Haruka bluntly just says, "Why would people be curious to have their livers all dried up by this alcohol habits? I mean are they really trying to kill themselves?". Have had enough of just lying down and thinking of things, she decided to get prepped up earlier than usual, standing up and slowly walking over her 'brother' who was lying down on her floor.


Aware that she has no need to rush since she got up earlier than usual, Haruka did her routine in a slightly slower pace. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, ate breakfast, washed the dishes and took a bath. After taking her hot bath, she went to her room to change. Even though her 'brother' is there, she didn't mind as she was used to having her brother sleep on her room while she changed her clothes and besides she feels nothing sexual whenever she does and the same applies to her brother (Though he was never awake whenever she changed clothes though) Upon entering her dark room, wrapped in a towel, Haruka kept clinging onto the wall, looking for the light switch. 'Ahh there we go' she said as she turned the lights on, the sight of her 'brother' 's brown hair was the first thing that she took notice off, slowly realizing that the man on her room is not her brother but rather a familiar one, one that she had just seen in her dream, the same dream that she just woke up on."Wh-wh-wha...whaaa!?" Haruka gave out a sharp, piercing shrieking upon her realization.

"Ugh..." Ace mumbled as he woke up from the sudden scream which caused his head to hurt more than it already is, causing him to immediately rub his head. He strained his memory and brain to remember the basic facts of himself, even his name was currently unknown. Ajax Jerimiah, Ace Jerimiah, Ace Genin…? Yes, that’s it! He opened his eyes, feeling more confident about knowing his own name. At first, the surroundings shocked him, but then the realisation hit him. The truth and the memories of last night flooded his mind. It was only now that he suddenly saw the one and only Haruka standing right in front of…only wearing a towel. At first he stared in awe, his mouth gaping open slightly. Wow, she was really beautiful… He thought. Ace quickly moved his view away from her, recognising that she was probably as confused and scared as he himself was; Not to mention a bit embarrassed…but she shouldn’t be with such a pretty figure she has.


He then shuffled his body back a bit, until his back hit the wall. Ace focused on the floor, making sure that his urge to look at her doesn’t overpower him. “H-H-Haruka…D-Do you k-know w-who I am…?” He stuttered uncontrollably, unsure if the dreams that he had experienced with her had actually made an impact in her memory. Ace was just as scared as she was; it wasn’t every day a human meets someone from their dream, vice versa. Ace nervously ran his hand through his messy hair, unsure of what to do. “I-If so…P-Please do not be alarmed…I am on a-a mission…D-Do you b-believe now?"


He closed his eyes tightly, hoping that this was a dream, one of his own. After a few seconds, he opened them again to see Haruka still standing there, obviously in shock. “Dammit…” He muttered, looking up at the ceiling. “P-Please take me back…” He sighed, looking around the room but making sure that his view does not connect with Haruka’s body. There was all these interesting yet unknown objects around her room, obviously things that were not from his own time period. This was going to be a extremely difficult yet interesting mission…

Haruka continued to shake in the corner of her simple room while the man began to speak, she preferred not to do anything to the man as she has no idea how dangerous he could be and actually, because her towel might fall off. She could've sworn that as she shook in a corner, that man took a short yet detailed look on her body WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME!? THIS GUY! THIS GUY HAVE TO BE SOME PERVERT THAT SNEAKED IN TO MY ROOM! she thought to herself.


Her shaky figure was put to a stop as the man made mention of her name? H-h--huh? How did he know my name? she was obviously surprised but didn't let her guard down nonetheless. She wanted to take a more detailed look onto the stranger's face, but he was far off and she didn't obviously want to go near him. But as the man kept talking eventually mentioning something about a mission her face went for a quizzical look, confused on whatever the stranger's talking, she,however, somehow felt a bit...odd, she felt as if she knew the stranger in her room.The stranger kept his head down around the time he gained consciousness but Haruka noticed that he took a quick peek at her body and muttered something to himself. HE MUST BE THINKING OF PERVERTED THINGS ABOUT ME! HE LOOKED AT ME JUST NOW! have had enough, she approached the grabbed his collar and with one hand was ready to comically throw him out of the window but before she could she slipped on a pen and she fell on top of the man.

Just as Ace was about to say something reassuring, he looked up for a brief second to see that Haruka’s hand was grasped around collar. Ace’s eyes widened as she seemed extremely scared at the moment. “Haruk--!” He started, but stopped as he felt a body falling on top of him, causing him to lie on the floor with Haruka on top. As she was wearing a towel, it slightly showed a small part of her chest, but thankfully for both Ace and Haruka, that part was pressed down against his body. “Uh…” He gulped, feeling somewhat aroused by this. It was a sort of feeling he had never experienced until right now, well maybe in his past life.


“Okay…Um, I’m going to pick you up…but I’ll close my eyes…Okay?” Ace nodded his head and closed his eyes. Without warning he stood up with his arms around Haruka’s waist, (not in a sexual way), and backed off a little. As he had no idea where he was backing off into, his head bumped into a supposed lamp and he rubbed his head yet again. He kept his eyes tightly closed, just in case Haruka had not covered herself up again. “Well…Do you not remember me?” He asked, moving his hands around because he was verydisorientated. “Your dream…The shooting star?” He shrugged and started turning around in a circle. Ace felt more relaxed now, but Haruka was probably not. “Hey, Um, Can I open my eyes now?”

Starting from the time she met the stranger, everything had been hell for Haruka, especially now that she's deliberately on top of him while wearing nothing but a towel! The scene could've been an overused romantic scene or whatever but still, it's all happening to her! To her of all people...


Nothing could get any worse than this, similar thoughts like that crowded her mind. Her face had been completely red and she's been on top of each other for quite a while till the man finally started to make a move. Wh-wha-what's he d-d-doing!? Haruka was obviously shaky, completely in fear on what the guy will do. He held onto her waist and they slowly stood up, the stranger was giving her assurance that he wouldn't do anything indecent to the innocent Haruka. Their body was physically making contact and their faces close, Haruka got a closer look to the stranger. He seems cute... the thought made her blush even further, actually, he really is cute. Too cute. Haruka blushed and as they finally stood straight from their embarassing state Haruka's eyes grew wide as multiple thoughts rushed into her mind while looking at the stranger. Wait, he seems...familiar..way too familar. she can't shake the feeling that she knows him and most likely, he knows her too. He does know her name after all.


But then, everything made sense when the guy made mention of her dream. "W-wh-whaa..." her mouth gaped at the revelation. She stood almost unable to accept it. No sooner though, the stranger had asked if he could open his eyes. "Uhm..uh...w-wait..please.." she quickly let go of her towel and rushed to wear some under garments along with a tank top and some simple shorts that were on top of her drawers as they pulled them. "Y-y-ou..can open them now..." she said, shakily.

“Thank you.” Ace opened his eyes and braced himself for either a terrible thing, or an extremely good thing. The first thing he noticed was that he was facing the other way, and quickly turned around. He then smiled at Haruka sheepishly, walking a little closer to her. “That’s better now, huh?” He asked, referring to how she was now dressed. She seemed to be just as pretty as she was without anything but her towel, but he wouldn’t dare say anything to flatter her. “So…Um…I’m guessing you understand now…?” Ace asked politely, giving her a knowing smile. It slightly amused him that Haruka was shaky. “Hey, it’s okay…” He smiled reassuringly, holding her arms gently. “I won’t hurt you.”


Ace then casually walked around her room, inspecting everything. He then came across a small portable square thing. It had various buttons and a glass in the middle. “Hey, Um, What year is it?” He asked, seeming like it was not a strange question at all. It would either be a shock, or a seemingly good thing.


“Okay, so, my mission, if you haven’t realised already, Is to make you believe in magic.” Ace smiled, sitting down on her desk stool. “I think I’ve sort of managed that…I mean me being here in your dream, and now here is, if I may say so myself…pretty magical…” He smirked jokingly. “So…I hopefully be here for a couple of days, or weeks…or years…” He trailed off, seeming to be lost in his own dream. He shook his head and returned his focus to Haruka. “And then, hopefully, I should be gone from your life.” He stated, trying not to let his guard down and show that he was quite sad about his.

Haruka was slowly approached by the man, he was completely free from any malice or any ill intentions in general, this made Haruka relax a bit and his cleverly timed smiles were quite the 'cutie' types you'd see in chic flicks but the real knock out here that made her heart go racing is when his soft hands touched hers adding 'I won't you' to it made it impossible not to completely blush,as he continued to touch her hands, she felt that he was warm though it seems weird to think of this but she felt that he was... 'alive'. Haruka herself doesn't understand what she meant but that was the appropriate word for it, by her belief.


As soon as he let go of her hand, he acted weird. It was as if he was some animal from the wild who was suddenly brought in to the zoo that kind of weird. Added by his questioning of what year it is, Haruka simply couldn't think of any possible reason as to why he wouldn't know of this.


After his oddly curious behavior, he sat down to her desk stool and began talking about weird things. Mission? Magic? Him appearing from her dreams as Magical? Then him disappearing after sometime? All of these were hard to take in immediately, not that she accepts them fully. There's gotta be an explanation for it, after all. "Whoah there, are you expecting me to believe all of this?" seated on her bed with arms crossed, Haruka began questioning, there's absolutely no way this is happening out of magic. "Well yeah, it maybe hard to explain all of these but there's nothing unusual about this" Haruka herself wasn't completely sure if what's she is saying is remotely even on spot but she continued on, her beliefs pushes her so. "Did my brother put you into this? 'Cause that would make sense since if you were close to my brother, I would've met you at some point making you a bit familiar to me and appearing in my dream and you talking about it as completely, coincidental." her eyes sharpened at the dream boy.

Ace sighed, realising that this would be slightly harder than he had first thought. “I did not even know you had a brother, never mind have I met him.” He narrowed his eyes back at Haruka, not in a challenging way though. “Do you not think that it is not a coincidence that I was in your dream and that, you possibly talked to a shooting star and mentioned that whatever you wished for would not happen?” He smiled. “Well, here I am. I’m here to prove you wrong.” He smiled again, with a slight wink.


Ace stood up. “So, Um, You should tell your parents or your brother that I am a transfer student from…I don’t know, France?” He shrugged and continued. “And that you have been chosen for me to stay with you.” He paused, but then nodded his head at this plan. Ace muttered under his breath, “Yes…That should work. So, basically, I will do whatever you do and I will go wherever you go.” Ace smiled, turning his head towards Haruka. “Is that okay?”

Everything that the stranger said made sense, maybe? Arrrghhh! In her head, Haruka had been battling monsters. Monsters of many kind trying to invade her peace of mind (Literally). Everything that she's thought of made sense but it also did not. The stranger then winked at the defenseless Haruka and it was effective, real effective. Her heart went straight for a loop yet again almost overwhelming the fact that he was, in a way, challenging her ideals by trying to 'prove her wrong'.


Haruka listened to the stranger's plans, they were quite...abrupt It's not like my parents would believe THAT! Seriously? An exchange student being assigned to stay on a room with a person of the opposite sex? Yeah, right! BUT WAIT!? WHY AM I EVEN CONSIDERING THIS!? AND MORE IMPORTANTLY - "YOU'RE ATTENDING THE SAME SCHOOL AS I AM?!" a shocked reaction came from Haruka though she tried to muffle the sound a bit so it doesn't wake up anyone. "Look here, I don't know which book you got this 'celestial' storyline from but seriously, you expect me to take in all of this?" she shrugged off her shoulder as she finished but realizing something more important, her reaction turned to a different one, to that of a curious girl.


"Hey..." her voice was softer and quieter than usual and she slowly proceeded whilst shaky. "Wh-what's..your name?" she blushed as she finished

Ace seemed slightly startled by this sudden new personality of Haruka. Of all the years that he had been in her dreams, she had never been like this. But then again, those experiences with her were only a dream. He felt slightly intimidated by her sudden reaction. Ace didn’t think that she would take his plan…like that. He lowered his voice to a quieter tone, not wanting to make Haruka any angrier. “W-Well…I think I need too…” He paused, looking down at the floor. “If you just believe…Then I’ll be gone from your life…But you’ll still see me in your dreams…” He smiled, glancing up at her.


Ace looked up innocently as her tone changed to a softer one. That sounded more like the normal Haruka to him. “Oh, How rude of me.” He stood up and casually walked over to her. Ace held out a hand. “Ace Genin. Nice to meet you, Haruka Hirai.” He smiled.


“Haruka! Wake up! It’s nearly time for school!” A manly voice shouted from a distance. Ace turned to Haruka and whispered, “Who’s that?” Suddenly, the door spun open and it revealed a man, too young to be Haruka’s father. So, obviously it was her brother. It didn’t leave anytime for Ace to hide – But he didn’t need too.


Ace walked over to the man and stood right in front of him, but Toshio’s view seemed to go right through him. Ace then snapped his fingers, and Toshio stood there not moving. It was like time had just stopped, and actually, that’s exactly what Ace did. He then turned around and touched Haruka on the forehead lightly, causing her to be able to move.


“Only people who don’t believe can see me.” He smiled.

"A-Ace?" she muttered, a curious look was etched on her face as she did so. "Well, this probably won't be needed but I'm Ha-" as she was about reply with an introduction. A familiar voice of the opposite sex completely took her by surprise, her heart skipped faster, worried. "To-to-Toshiro!" she was unable to voice out anything, she was completely taken over by surprise. What I am gonna do!? she thought and Ace approaching the door isn't helping! No no no no non nonononon! she was trying to wave her hands lightly signaling a big NO to Ace but he didn't listen!


And just like that, her life had ended, her dreams, her hopes well, not like she had any of those other than get to college and start dreaming there, she's just studying to get a secure spot not necessarily as a dream one would have hoped. But anyway, it's all ending right here, once her brother discovers a man in her room, it all go downhill from there, she was sure of it or so she thought.


"Heh?" nothing happened, like, nothing really is happening. Upon closer, look, her clock stopped making its cute tick sound, and no sound of any form was coming from outside, everything just... stopped. After looking around, she turned around to ace and shock to see he was actually closer to him than she remembered him to be, he was really close to her, with a smile on his face. Haruka's face blushed even further. "Wha-what!?" Haruka slightly pushed him away, it was quite an expected now that you mention it. It's not everyday you meet someone who teleports in front of you. Wait, did he teleport? No way right? The only reason for this must be... she looked around another time and came to a conclusion. Time must've stopped.


It seems everything Ace had been doing has been a challenge to her ideals, stopping time, appearing from her dreams and granting wishes? Ha! She must be dreaming! Then again, she can't be dreaming, she knows this for a fact. Remembering everything Ace had said so far, she thought of something to test if everything Ace said was true. Her eyes narrowed, showing another side of Haruka, giving sharp looks on Ace as she slowly walked towards him. "You said if I believe in this supernatural event called 'magic' as you say, you'd disappear right?" she got close onto Ace, slowly reached for his face and her face began closing in on his until she whispered something onto his ear. "I believe. I believe everything you've said." she said with no sincerity. Wanting to test if Ace would disappear with those words.

Ace smiled as he looked around her room. Everything was motionless. The tree outside had stopped swaying in the vanished wind, the clock hands had stopped moving. It was almost impossible in the human eye, but for Ace…It was just a way of killing boredom. He had many other humanly impossible abilities, such as invisibility and even mind reading if he wasn’t so distracted so much. But I guess Ace had already proven those in the dreams…


Ace focused on Haruka, but his eyes widened as he saw her competitive side coming back to her. This wasn’t the side Ace had fallen in love with her, but it was still cute to see her trying to prove him wrong. That would never happen. “Well, I wouldn’t call it supern--” Ace stopped as he saw Haruka moving her face towards his. “H-Har-ruka-a...” He managed to say. This was extremely arousing for Ace, but he wouldn’t dare show it. When he realised that she was just moving into whisper something, he felt a blow of relief but also regret. What if she wanted to kiss him? What if Ace wanted her to as well? He stopped as he listened to what she had to say. As soon as she finished, Ace let out a small whimper as he felt a strange sensation running through his body. He looked down at his feet and noticed that they began to flicker from visibility and to none-at-all. So did his body. He grunted as his body returned to his solid form and looked up at Haruka. “If you want to get rid of me, It’s not going to be that easy.”

Haruka wondered at Ace's odd reaction. As someone who hadn't been close to a person of the opposite sex other than her brother and father, she didn't have any idea what the proper reaction was but it was still 'odd'. She let out a slight chuckle, making fun of Ace's cute reaction. But as Ace began to be serious by saying something about wanting him to be gone, Haruka's face lit up and her serious mood was completely put into a halt. Somehow, I knew he wouldn't be gone. I knew it but... she felt another mysterious sensation from within her, it was actually familiar to her but this time, it appeared...different. Tears began to form around her eyes, and her heart felt aching. She was feeling sad but why? And how is that it's so different from her usual sadness? When she lost her teddy bear when she was a child, she was sad. When she was left alone one time in a mall, she was sad. But how come that this time, it feels...different? She looked down, hoping Ace wouldn't notice her shaking. "I-I... I don't..want that..." trying to muffle in the shakiness in her voice, she continued. "I don't want you to be gone." just as she finished, her heart began to beat faster. Wh-what is this... she wondered as she goes through another different feeling and this one, was unfamiliar to her, completely unfamiliar.

Ace’s eyes widened at the sight of the crying Haruka. This was different. He had never ever meant to make her cry. Why was she crying in the first place? It puzzled Ace, but it didn’t stop him to embrace Haruka immediately. “Hey, it was just a joke…” He paused, pushing her lightly more into him. “You’re going to make me cry!” He chuckled lightly, rubbing his own eyes playfully. Ace wanted to do something risky, but if he did it…It would be wonderful. What do I have to lose…? Without a second thought, Ace moved his face down, (And because he was a lot taller tha Haruka), and kissed the top of her head. It seemed like a sort of comforting kiss that you would give your friends, but too Ace…It meant a whole lot more. But he would never say anything like that to Haruka. “I don’t want to be gone either…”

Ace's hands grabbed hold of her yet again. This time, it was more... romantic? Not that Haruka would know it but she had seen these things in movies at least. Her heart was beating at an unbelievably fast rate. Wha-what is this? This is new... I-is this...? Haruka was completely puzzled, completely unaware of what she's feeling. Is he feeling the same? What if he is- her thoughts were cut short as Ace's soft lips touched the top of her head followed with the words 'I don't want to be gone either'. Okay, this is serious, she might die. Her heart's just beating too much! She thought.


But, it was weird. It was like... she's always wanted it. What is she feeling exactly? What does she want? What is Ace to her? Millions of thoughts crowded her head. What if.. in the instant that Ace's lips left contact. She tiptoed grabbed his head and had kissed him on his lips. She didn't know why exactly but to her, she wanted to do it. She wanted it badly. Every inch of her told her to do it and yet, she doesn't know why. Her face lit up completely red as her lips touched Ace's ever so gently.

Ace smiled as he left the touch of Haruka, but stopped as hands grasped gently around his face. “What ar--” He was cut off as he felt her soft and delicate lips touch his own. It took a few moments for Ace to process what just happened, but after Ace started to kiss passionately back. What is happening…? He thought. Does Haruka feel the same way? He wrapped his arms around her more tightly, but still being gentle. Ace moved his hands around her back, not entirely sure where he was meant to put it. What has he gotten himself into now…?


Ace’s eyes widened and he immediately pulled away. “I-I’m sorry…I just c-can’t...” He muttered, trying to shake the memories that had just flooded his head:


“Bye ladies!” Ace smiled as he walked over to his girlfriend, Jessie, and kissed her lightly. “Hope you guys have fun!” His Mom smiled, winking lightly at Ace. And with that they left, into the car and off they went. Ace’s Mom and Jessie were going to the local mall to search for Jessie’s prom dress. Of course, Ace and she were going to go together. Everything about that day was so precise and specific, Ace could even remember the smell and actions that was happening around him.


“Hello?” Ace asked as he picked up the phone. He expected it to be either Jessie or his Mom, but instead, it was the person he most feared… “Hello, Mr. Genin. We have some unfortunate news. You mother and girlfriend have sadly just died in a car accident…”


“Why are you kissing the air?” Toshio asked abruptly. Toshio could obviously not see this, but Ace had walked off into the corner of the room, trying to push back to tears.

The sudden absence of Ace's lips shocked Haruka. Apparently, he pushed her away. The man apologized and went to a corner of the room and time seemed to have continued its course as her brother had began to question her odd actions. Her heart, however, remained the same, continuing its fast paced beating. Haruka couldn't understand what happened but the meaning behind the man's apology seemed to have struck her more than the man probably have intended and yet, she still doesn't understand what she feels. "No reason, I wasn't kissing the Air, Toshio." she answered in a monotone. "I'm gonna get ready, going to school." she said, slightly tilting her head to where Ace had hidden. "I'll probably wait for my friends there." she signaled at Ace "E-eh? Friends? You have those now?" her brother humorously said as she took her school bag and went to change her clothes at the bathroom.


Completely all worn and ready for school, she rushed towards the front door only taking a small peek if Ace had left his spot. He's still there... Haruka went on outside, the sun slight risen above the sky but nonetheless, shone its brilliance brightly to the nearby trees. Haruka, not caring however, ran towards school. What is this I'm feeling? Why am I so pissed off!? tears streamed down her delicate face as she head for school."Oh! Hi there Hira- Eh? Why are you crying!? Are you ok?" A few of her classmates saw her and had asked her to walk with them. "No, it's nothing I'm fine" gently wiping the tears away, she gave a smile to her classmates as to reassure them and had proceeded to school with them.

Ace stood there for a while after Haruka’s footsteps left the room. At the moment, he decided that he would pay no attention her hints but he knew that at one point of the day he would have too. What had he gotten himself into now…? It was his mission though, to make her believe in magic and love was a type of magic – And he had just ruined that for her. Ace didn’t want to leave her when the time came for him to leave. To be honest, He hated the face that he had to leave without Haruka. But, it wasn’t as if anything was meant by the kiss…Was it?


Ace slowly walked out of the front door of her house, making sure that he didn’t make any noise. Once he was outside, he saw that some of the local boys walked past, presumably from the same school as Haruka because the colour was the same as what she was wearing. He closed his eyes and snapped his fingers, and in a moment he was wearing the same uniform as them. He slowly followed the boys from a short distance, not wanting for him to seem as a stalker. They seemed like they didn’t see Ace, so it didn’t really matter anyway. Once realising this, he slowly overtook them and started running into the school.


At first, Ace was shocked. This was nothing like the schools that he was in in his life-time. It was completely different. He looked around at his surroundings, noticing how jam-packed the hallways were. “Oh, Sorry, Excuse me…” He repeatedly muttered, trying to squeeze past the fellow students. Most of the people here seemed too believe, so only a few had noticed him. And there she was. Ace had spotted Haruka. She seemed to be sad. He started to walk up to her, but accidently tripped up a big, muscular man. “O-Oh…Terribly sorry…” Ace muttered, feeling slightly defenceless. Everyone in the hall fell silent, some looked around for the person who had tripped the school bully up. Ace pulled out a hand for the stranger to take, but he refused it and stood up himself. The other students, noticing that a fight was about to happen, quickly left the corridor. The only people left were Haruka, the school bully, two of his side-kicks and, of course Ace. “H-Hey…N-No hard feelings, right?” Ace asked, looking up at the bully who towered over him.

"Sorry, doesn't cut it, asshole." intimidation could be found on whoever had been told that directly and his fellow goons are no joke either. Naturally, it wouldn't be surprised as to why Ace is particularly shaken. Haruka , on the other hand , steadily stood as she watched over Ace. Seeing Ace once again made her heart continue the beating it always had whenever he was around but it felt... different, again. Why is it different all the time!? I don't get it at all! Haruka, unable to understand her feelings was slightly irritated. How is it possible that she gets different reactions whenever she sees him? How? What is responsible for it? But as she set these thoughts aside, she realized... she's not so sad. Seeing Ace again made her...happy, there was slight pain as she remembers how things earlier that day but it almost didn't matter to her, as if Ace's smile, frown, pout and cries were all that it took to remedy the extreme she had. "Oi, I'm talking to you!" the bully continued...bullying Ace, pushing him around the now spacious hallways of the school building. "What is it with this twerp? Did he lose his tongue?" the lead bully asked his henchmen. The henchmen only laughed gave typical "Yeah, maybe he did, boss." kind of answers.





Getting relieved from all the burdens she had been having on her chest, she ran towards the scene; Grabbed Ace's hand and together, sprinted away from the trio. The trio had chased the two as they went up the stares. His hand is... so warm.. Haruka's thought wasn't really on the right timing but even through the wild chase were most would've been shivering cold in fear as they ran, Haruka felt Ace's warmth and without him noticing, smiled as they kept running.


Their chase continued on till the two reached the roof, the trio doesn't seem to be chasing them anymore but it was prudent that they were to stick to their current location in the meantime. The two panted as they both tried to catch their breaths. Haruka slowly walked to the side of the door, not wanting to go under the sun's hot rays. "Y-you're so stupid!" she said, still trying to catch her breath. "Seriously, star boy, for a being who can do lots of unbelievable things, you're pretty weak in a fight!" she laughed aloud, trying to muffle the sound of her laughter with her hands.

When Ace felt the sudden small hand grasp into his, he knew it was Haruka. He realised that she was beginning to run away from the bullies, and did the same. Her hand was so soft…and especially cute. Ace shook the thought from his head, not really in the right moment to admire Haruka’s hand. Ace glanced over his shoulder and saw that the bullies were right on their tail. “Dammit…” He muttered whilst they ran around a corner. How were they going to lose them…? Suddenly, a perfect idea popped into Ace’s head. They passed a door and just in the last second, Ace slammed it closed and watched as the lock at the top closed in.


Ace followed Haruka up the stairs and onto the roof. They were still running, but it didn’t really matter now. Once they were alone and in no need to rush, Ace smiled at Haruka. He looked down at the floor, still smiling but you could see that things were flashing through his mind. The reason why he couldn’t do anything to the bully was that the bully resembled Ace’s father, and they don’t really have a good bond for each other. But one day, Ace would tell Haruka about everything; About his father, his mother, his girlfriend, and last but not least, His death…


Ace smiled, chuckling a little. He glanced up at her, focusing on her lips.


“Um, Sorry about earlier…” He hesitated. “I-I just…I mean…I’ve known you you’re whole life, even when you were families cute, golden star…but, I feel like you don’t know me…And…A-And it wouldn’t be fair…”

The slightly cool breeze touched Haruka's gentle face and carried her long black hair. However, a different kind of breeze touched her heart. It was Ace's simple yet meaningful smile. As she looked to her right, Ace had been staring at her her face slightly blushed as he apologized, he slowly approached the shy girl. "Wh-what..what are you talking about..?" her face went completely red and turned away from Ace, only hearing his light footsteps as he came closer and closer to her. She felt emotions, emotions that appeared foreign to her, they were the same emotions that she had been feeling ever since she met Ace in her dreams and the intensity only increasing now that he's physically present before her. I want to know... her small hand was placed on her left chest, feeling the loud beating of her heart. "Ace, I- I want to know..." she immediately turned around with Ace already inches from her. She hugged Ace tightly, crying even though sadness was not the reason. "Ace, I want to know what this is... I want to know.. what I'm feeling." she said softly as she looked up to Ace. In that very instant, it felt like Ace made use of his power to stop time. Everything felt like they froze like the world was only her and Ace.

Ace smiled even more sheepishly as the wind contacted with Haruka. She was really beautiful, on Earth and in her dreams. No wonder Ace had fallen in love with her. He looked down at Haruka’s shoes, not sure how to answer her question. Was the kiss nothing to her? It seemed like it was…He thought. Suddenly, Ace was embraced tightly by Haruka. “Hey, there is no need to cry…” He smiled, hugging her gently back. Ace tilted his head down at her, moving his face closer to her but stopped. “Hey, Stop that!” He laughed, looking over at his shoulder. There stood a miniature star, tickling Ace’s ear.


The star was about the size of a finger nail, no bigger and no less. “George! Please…I’m sort of…in the middle of something…” Ace tilted his head lightly at Haruka, but the star, George, just giggled and made a heart sign with his edges. Ace blushed, lifting his hand off and flicking George off him. The star face planted on the ground, but he immediately got up and started making a sort of twinkling sound. It was understandable for Ace, but it would not be for humans. Realising this, he turned to Haruka and put his 2 index fingers on both of her ears. He closed his eyes and light rose form his fingers and travelled into her ear. “Here, now you can understand.” He nodded his head and picked George, laying him on his hand. “You know how many dents I’ve gotten in me! More than your amount of suns! I’m sick and tired of you hurting me, Mr. Genin. You must stop or I’ll take you back.” The star yammered on and said. “And you’ve completely forgotten about me…” Ace sighed, rolling his eyes lightly. “Oh, How terribly rude of me.” George turned to Haruka and held out one of his points for her to shake. “George Twinkle, at your boyfriend’s service. And of course yours, Ma’am.” Ace blushed even more, not daring to correct him as he wished that it might one day be true.

It's so cute, no other word could describe the little bright light that appeared all of a sudden. Prior to being captivated by its adorable and small tendencies, she was a bit...irritated? Irritated at the fact her quality time with Ace was interrupted. She , as usual , couldn't put into words the reason behind it all but she knew what she was feeling, discomfort. Well, not that matters now, the tiny little being made her happy that was until an unnatural word came out of the little star. The star included it after his introduction he said...





"B-boy..friend?" Haruka was familiar with this but she can't technically tell the time you can call sometime her boyfriend, she tilted her head slightly, expressing her curiosity. Before she could receive the answer she was looking for, Haruka lets out a scream upon forgetting something. She was supposed to be in class. The thought of her cutting classes was unbearable for her she cringed at the thought, almost acting like a maniacal murderer who had a victim of his escape his clutches, okay that was kind of too much but yeah, it kinda looked like that anyway. Being reminded of her priorities, she made a run for the rooftop's door but before she turned the knob, she looked back at Ace, the wind came in and blown her hair so gently and with that, she gave Ace the sweetest of smiles. "I'll see you in class okay?" she said while smiling. She returned to her initial position and turned the knob. "Oh yeah, can you make yourself visible as long as you're in class with me? I k-kinda..." she blushed but there was no way Ace could've seen this, Ace would only to make notice of her quieter and shyer tone. "I want to act normal with you..." she said as she finally proceeded on going back to class, not knowing how unusually odd her last words were.

Ace watched nervously as Haruka processed the word ‘boyfriend’. Maybe they were never going to be like that. George had only said that because he only receives the information from Ace’s brain, and that was the title that he had given Haruka; Even though they weren’t really like that…yet. Suddenly, Ace’s thoughts were interrupted by a scream. Ace and George exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of why Haruka was screaming. They watched in curiosity as Haruka rushed over to the rooftop door, but before he opened it she looked over at Ace. …Wow…That smile…S-So Cute… Ace shook his head and focused on what Haruka was saying. Ace nodded his head, and smiled. He stopped though when Haruka’s tone swapped again. When Haruka proceeded through the door, Ace looked at George. The star smirked lightly and climbed up too Ace’s ear. He whispered, “She’s a keeper, Sir. You must protect her this time…” Ace scowled lightly, throwing George into his school uniform’s trousers. Ace did have to admit that he now knows that that was exactly as to what he should do…


Ace quickly ran up to follow her and smiled when he finally caught up to her. “Hey again.” He paused, blushing lightly. You only live once…He thought. Ace moved his face down to hers and quickly kissed her on the cheek. He then continued walking as if nothing had happened. He smiled to himself though, mentally doing a little victory dance. “S-So...Where’s the classr--” Ace stopped, muttering a short spell and light emitted from his body. Now he was visible to everyone. “Nearly forgot!” He chuckled lightly. “So, Where is the classroom?”
