The wind blew through the white sails, not making a sound. The only sound that could be heard was the wind as it howled, the thrashing of the waves smashing against the strong wood; but also the sound of boots, clacking against the wooden deck. A door creaked open, barely audible due to the strong winds that carried the ship through the waters at unimaginable speeds.

The door slammed shut, and a man stood in the doorway. He wore a red hat made from wool and he had a slightly round belly. "Captain, we are nearing the vicinity of Port Royal," he said, "should I get the men ready?" A dark figure stood, leaning over a desk, observing a map that was spread out over the entire surface. The figure nodded and the man left the room, shutting it with a loud thud behind him.

Killian looked up from the map, his eyes almost illuminating in the dark of his quarters. He walked over to the window and pulled away the curtains, showering the quarters in sunlight; though the sun was setting. It was soon to be dark, soon to be time, soon to conquer. He smiled and ran a hand through his thick hair. "Port Royal," he whispered to himself," beware of the Hook."

The sun was rising, illuminating the chandelier in the room that Arabella slept in. The shine made its way to her face, causing her to turn over and pulled the covers over her head. She heard the door to her room open and a familiar voice call out. "Lady Arabella, it's time to wake up and get ready for your public appearance."

Turning over, Arabella could see the maid outfit walking closer to her and yanking the covers off of her. "The King would be very upset if you didn't make it. Now come on, we've a lot to do!" A few moments of struggling later, the maid managed to get Arabella up and starting to get ready.

Arabella hated doing these public things. It was more suited for her two brothers, but since they have moved out into their own kingdoms where they are kings, she is the next in line to do royal public duties. Today, she was given the task to give an opening speech for the Race of Gold. The Race of Gold was a tradition in the country, where the best horse riders from all over the kingdom race for glory and great blessings, ones that she would have to give.

The maid struggled to get her dressed and prepared, even giving up on doing her hair that never wanted to cooperate with anyone. As soon as the maid left her alone, she picked up her frilly dress and headed out of the room with a sigh of relief. This was her only chance and she had to work fast. She had been working on this little escape for months now, studying the patterns of the guards, the servants, and even her parents.

She high-tailed it through the palace, kicking off her uncomfortable shoes along the way. She saw her target in front of her: the servant quarters. She reached the door knob and opened it, stepping inside and seeing the exit. She smiled as she skipped over the cobble stone floor and into the housing quarters for the servants. She knew what she was looking for and headed into the closet. By now, her personal maid was searching all over for Lady Arabella.

She found the outfit she was searching for: A simple dress that any of the peasant woman in the town would wear. She wrapped the scarf around her head and covered most of her face so she wouldn't be recognized while taking a stroll through the town. This was her fathers number one rule: To never leave the castle without an escort. And today she was breaking that rule.

She left through the servants exit and walked down the dirt path that was behind the castle. It looped down a hill until reaching a walk through of trees, the branches and leaves covering the path and decorated with wondrous flowers of all colors. This was one of her favorite spots to take a walk through.

At the end of the path was the entrance to the town. It was closer to the port side and market area where every one of the citizens were so lively and loud. She smiled as she walked through, all the unfamiliar smells that were new to her was great. Seeing a butcher chop a chickens head off and watching the weaponsmith hammer away at a hot piece of metal. It was different, and she loved it. No one knew she was the Princess.
