Omen of Death
( I actually got the Idea from The Lament to Gandalf.

The rain came down as figures walk through the forest humming. They carried a board with a white cloth over it. Underneath was the dead body of a ranger. The hummed as the walked to the river. The set the body in the boat and pushed it out to sea. The archers lit there arrows and took aim. The boat lit fire as pyre for the ranger. Middle earth was no longer safe for the elves. Especially if the had to hold a funeral for a ranger.
This is before the Lord if the rings and the Hobbit. So none of the original characters. there is a different evil that is now after the elfs of middle Earth along with the Rangers. This danger was now almost every where. They Made the City's of Rivendell, Gondolin, and Menegroth. The Rangers were humans helping the elves and Now the Elvish princess had gone missing on her way to Rivendell a party of Rangers and Elfs are off to find her.
