Talbot rushed to his home, and rushed up the stairs. He stood against the closed door and into the mostly empty apartment. The bare white walls. The bare bones furniture. The almost clinically maintained cleanliness of the kitchen. Really, this place was not suited for people. Much less children. His eyes flew down the hallway to the closed white door. Shit... why did he offer them a room. His room. Shit Shit SHit SHIt SHIT! SHIT!!! He rushed forwards and stopped at the door. He took a deep breath. and placed a hand on the door handle, before he walked in. The room was kept clean by the help who came in every few days - so luckily it did not need to be cleaned. It was still disconcerting to actually walk into what would have been his brother's room. The only room in the flat with color - warm reds, dark blues with white and black accents. There was a cot, and a normal bed - with pictures of their family strewn around. There was a small book-case filled with children's books, and a reading chair with reading light. On one of the walls there was a long shelf filled with toys, soft and colorful - mostly of fruits and vegetables. He slowly walked in, touching a few things with lightly shaking hands - before he quickly collected the pictures. Placing them in a drawer in his room, he rushed between the two rooms - moving the sets of clothes, the small shoes, etc into his room.
When he was sure that everything that seemed personal was removed, he went to his room and carefully found a place for everything. When he was done, he went to his sitting room, where a lined phone and a computer was set up. He sat down and called his lawyers. They assured him that they will send him a temporary contract that would suit his needs for now, and then they will create exactly what he needs over the next few days. That meant he could print it now and perhaps have them here by the next few days. Perhaps he could liven the place up tomorrow morning. A few minutes later he was reading over the newly printed documents, ignoring the fact that the words seemed rather blurry at times, and rather sometimes small points of moisture seemed to drop onto and meld into the paper.

[SIZE= 14px]He sighed while going through the bag before putting it all back and looking over at Greyson, having conflicted feelings about the whole situation, especially about moving in with Talbot because it just felt... wrong, to impose on his life just because he himself couldn't get his shit together. He continued going around the place checking everything to make sure he wasn't leaving a mess behind for the woman downstairs, including cleaning up which was something he hadn't done in ages because he never knew how long he'd stay at a place and felt there no need to keep it clean. Once he was done he walked over and picked up Grey before sitting in the chair and hugging him close "Daddy?" he asked cutely and Nyx sighed "It's gonna be okay bud, no matter what happens, okay?" he said quietly which seemed to concern the boy who just clung tighter to the man while nodding a little bit[/SIZE]

Talbot stood still, quietly straightening his tie while regulating his breathing. It was midday and the sun was pleasant and warm on his skin. Behind him stood a car - a large black thing he only chose because it had a large trunk and was rather comfortable to drive. In front of him was the building where the father and son lived. He had woken up at six this morning, met his lawyers who gave him a reviewed contract - a mix of employment and landlord standards that he found to be reasonable enough. They also accompanied him to the nearest car store since he thought it best to have one of those... and of course he called a local interior designer to 'spruce' up the place - she was very much against the idea of doing it all within a few hours, but when he offered her double her fee she quieted. At least it looked a little bit more like a home now. He hoped. He knocked on the door, and took another deep breath.

He'd woken up early that morning to 'feed' Greyson in order to keep the boy manageable during this whole process. He got dressed and put his hair up in a ponytail to keep it out of his face before hearing a knock at the door. He took a deep breath before picking up Greyson and his single bag of stuff before going down the stairs, boy in one arm, bag in the other and had Greyson open it for him. He looked at Talbot with a look of concern as he saw he tie he raised an eyebrow "Didn't realize this was a date" he remarked quietly, trying to lighten up the atmosphere a little bit

Talbot raised an eyebrow, looking at the man. "Hardly. You can place that in the car so long" , he casually took out the key and opened the trunk with a button. He absentmindedly placed the the key into the man's hand - as he passed him and slowly walked to the stairs. "I will go get the rest..."

He watched the trunk open before seeing Talbot walk past him, he reached out and grabbed his shirt lightly "There isn't any more" he said quietly while biting his lip a bit "These are the only things that matter" he said while tossing the bag in the trunk and putting Greyson on his shoulders before spinning him around while the boy giggle "Dada got bwankie" he said cutely with a proud nod as he held onto Nyx' ears so he wouldn't fall off, Nyx then flipped Greyson off his shoulders before setting him lightly on the ground and opening the car door, feeling a bit nervous to get it dirty "Is this new?" he asked as he looked over at Talbot

Talbot turned around on the fist step and cursed under his breath. How had he forgotten? He was going to have to be a little bit more careful in his assumptions when interacting with them. His eyes widened as the man looked so bloody vulnerable again. Dammit. Memories of small, hurt animals, hungry classmates - his sickly little brother - and his incessant need to care for them all flooded his mind. He should have just stayed out of their lives. He is already too invested in this. Ignoring how the man played with his son, he walked over to the driver's side. "Yes, I got it this morning. I thought it better than walking through town as if we were some caravan - There is a child's seat in the back. It will be good for when the inspector comes." He got in the front and closed the door - the still clinging 'new car' smell irritating his nose. He could not help but frown.

[SIZE= 14px]He nodded and got Greyson buckled in who started squirming and whining "Dont like it" he complained cutely while looking back at Talbot with the most innocent of frowns, since he'd never been in a car nor a car seat before he really didn't like being restricted like this. Nyx sighed and ruffled his hair "Do you want me to sit back here?" he asked and Greyson nodded. "Looks like you're our chauffeur, Talbot" he said with a bit of a grin before sitting in the back and holding Greyson's tiny hand while the boy just sat there looking around both curious, and concerned. He sighed softly and kissed the boys head gently "It'll be alright kiddo" he said before buckling himself in and slouching in the seat much like an annoyed teenager, not even realizing he himself was staring at Talbot from the mirror[/SIZE]

Talbot did not even realize his frown deepening, before taking off. The car moved with a grace - and he drove as if he did it everyday. He seemed to slow just enough to take into consideration the rest of the traffic, never actually coming to a halt as he either took roads that had no stops or curiously always arrived at an intersection when the light was green. He stayed quiet through the drive - and he stopped in front of the book store. He got up and motioned for them to follow. He walked up the stairs after opening the door. The stairs opened up into a hallway filled with books...
walking down the hallway he opened the nearest door which had the room for the two. On looking in one saw just a few things and the crib- behind the door out of sight stood a normal bed - large enough for a full sized man to sleep.
"Get settled in, I will be in the kitchen - making some tea."
He entered the kitchen and made some tea - sitting in one of the wooden chairs.
(Too lazy to describe the flat. There are some pictures - there is also another room that had a closed door. And a full bathroom that had an open door)

The man actually ended up falling asleep while leaning on Greyson's car seat during the drive, only to be woken up when they stopped and he got out, with Greyson who jumped out and followed Talbot in innocently while Nyx got the bag out and followed him, keeping a hold of Greyson's hood so he couldn't wander away from them. He looked in the room and then at Talbot with a frown "Are you sure about this-" he was cut off when he said he'd be making tea and sighed deeply before letting Greyson run into the room and start playing with the stuffed animals. Nyx stepped in and looked at the bed with a quiet sigh, he'd have to find a way to make all this up to Talbot somehow, though one way did flash through his mind and left just as quickly while he shook his head rapidly. A deep blush crossing his cheeks as he sat down and took his shoes off before taking out the one photo of Greyson he had and placed it on the nightstand, The boy looked to be about 9 months old in the picture and Nyx was holding him which only brought up the question of who took the photo.
[SIZE= 14px]He sighed again and laid on his side across the end of the bed while watching Greyson play in a surprisingly peaceful manner, the boy was usually pretty rambunctious when it was just the two of them though perhaps it was because of Talbot's presence in the house, who knows. The boy turned around and looked at Nyx before getting up and handing him one of the toys, a stuffed monkey. Nyx blinked and smiled a little bit before making the monkey 'attack' Grey's face causing a wave of adorable giggles and squeals to ring throughout the incredibly quiet halls.[/SIZE]

Talbot sipped at his tea... looking at the other cup and the box of orange juice on the table. Were they not joining him? Should he have asked? Do they think they should keep to the room? He got up and made his way to the room, balancing the juice box horizontally on the extra tea cup. Stopping just outside he carefully used his foot too tap the door. "tea...?"

He was actually smiling genuinely as he continued playing with his boy before hearing a tap on the door, he gasped playfully "Who's that? Go see" he said and Greyson giggled before toddling over to the door and opened it cutely before looking up at the man with those big blue eyes of his and a cute little grin "Ahhhh! Monster!" he laughed and ran away, hiding behind the chair while peeking over it adorably. Nyx snickered and sat up "I agree Grey, tea is scary" he joked as he glanced at Talbot with a playful grin before standing up and looking at what he was holding, he blushed a little and met the mans eyes for a moment "You didn't have to do this..." he said sheepishly

Talbot held out the tea - the small box of orange juice balanced on top of it - "I was not sure what he liked so I bought all the kinds - Children like juice right? And we need to talk through the contract as soon as possible - and some rules for the flat - nothing much I assure you, but just some groundwork so that we don't grate on each other's nerves." He nodded down the hallway, before raising an eyebrow.

He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out so he just took the tea and crouched down, setting the cup on the floor while he opened the straw and stuck it in before handing it to Greyson "What do you say?" he asked and Greyson took it before looking up at Talbot "Thank yew" he said all sweet-like, maybe playing just a tad into the overly cuteness that was himself, the kid was cute and he sure as hell knew it. Nyx then picked the cup back up before Grey spilled it and returned to his feet, he nodded slightly and looked over at Grey then back at Talbot "Yeah... okay" he agreed hesitantly, still feeling guilty for whatever reason

Talbot looked at the child, who had only a moment been playing with his brother's toys. His lips tightened, and he turned around motioning for them - Nyx in particular - to follow. They went to the main seating area and he picked up a few documents from the desk to the side, before sitting down. waiting expectantly, he sipped at his tea. "Please sit down."

[SIZE= 14px]He and Greyson both followed the man, Nyx sat down when instructed while Greyson started toddling around the room examining all the shiny things while sipping his juice contently. Nyx glanced at the boy every so often to make sure he wasn't breaking anything before looking over at Talbot "Lay it on me" he said, expecting some huge list of rules and expectations while he set his cup down and leaned back on the couch lazily as he stared at the other man, his ponytail loosened slightly from playing with Greyson causing a few stray dark hairs to fall to the sides of his face[/SIZE]

Talbot noticed the man's casual rapport - that was good. It will be better for the inspector to think he was happy and stable. "I assure you, I intend no laying as of yet - This contract is for both your employment and your lodging. You have full use of all communal spaces - IE all rooms except our respective bedrooms. You of course have your own room - which I don't have any access to, and in turn - neither do you, mine. There is a general amiability clause that asks that you keep it down past 10:30 at night, until 07:00 AM - as well as keeping the areas clean and clear after you use them. A domestic service comes in every third day - Mondays and Thursdays - clothes and washing should be left in the hamper and she will clean it for you. She will also clean your room at your discretion..." He went on, going through everything without every having to actually look at the page. Basically Nyx had access to the car, the food, everything really - and he had to do assigned work on demand for no more than 8 hours a day - at intervals of his own discretion. When he finished, his throat was a little parched so he took a sip of his tea.

He listened to him as best he could while keeping an eye on Greyson to make sure he wasn't breaking anything. The little boy toddled over and set the box on the table before crawling up into Nyx's lap and leaning against him while looking over at Talbot curiously, his eyes flashing red for a moment before the boy looked away with a bit of a frown, his little hand clutching Nyx's shirt innocently. The man frowned and hugged him tight "What's up?" he asked as he looked down and Greyson whined cutely before shaking his head. Nyx sighed and sat up a bit but kept his arm around him "Aww, I can't come sneak into your room while you're sleeping?" he asked jokingly despite starting to worry about why Greyson's attitude changed all of a sudden

Talbot's eyes flick to the little boy's eyes the red flash playing over and over in his mind. "I am having a woman come - an official who I think would be open to discretion. She will come... test the boy. And inspect the situation. She will ask many things - you must pretend that you have been here for about a month. I will be paying your first salary tomorrow. Buy some clothes, and a few oddities that you can spread around the house. Make it seem as if you have been here for a while. You need to facilitate this small deception. Can you do this? And as an afterthought - No, you will not be coming to my room in the dark of night." Then again... His eyes moved to the ground as he considers the potential - A romance? Would that aid the effort or distract from it? The potential of another parental figure could... but the eventual break up could court unneeded scrutiny. Better not then.

A small smirk played on his lips as if he hadn't even heard the rest of it "Awww why not? I like cuddling" he teased while kissing Greyson's head as the boy started getting warmer, possibly a fever. "Yeah... I can do that" he added as an after thought while looking up at him with an air of calm around him, which would be surprising given the scenario. "Anyway I think he's getting sleepy... It is close to nap time" he added before standing up and lifting the boy with him, who nodded in agreement of his words while resting his head on Nyx's shoulder, his cheek squishing a little bit in the process while his blue eyes stared down at Talbot before licking his lips and closing his eyes sleepily

Talbot nodded and watched them leave the room. He sat still for a few more seconds before he slid off the couch and onto the floor, he crossed his legs and closed his eyes, breathing deeply. There were so many things suddenly in his life. It made his anxious. When his life was quiet, there were few things that could go wrong. And when they inevitably went wrong, they were small and easy to fix. But now... now there was so much. SO much that will go wrong sooner or later. The question that remained however... was what?
(While he meditates for a few hours I will do some work. Enjoy - We must see if @Xena will join.)
