"Thank you for having us for dinner" Ilana said goodbye with a comforting yet tired smile. Her long frizzy black looked frizzier than before. The Carter family stayed at the Gull family for a Christmas dinner before the Gull's left to Ireland. "You're welcome anytime!" Jolene Gull cooed. The lady was a sweetheart with shining brown welcoming eyes. Ilana's husband, Rob came over and hugged his wife and with a small kiss on the cheek "C'mon, you have to wake up early tomorrow" Rob softly said to Ilana as she closed her eyes for a split second. Two loud splashes were heard from the pool then came laughter. Rob moaned and went to grabbed his two beautiful daughters. Lily who was the eldest and the youngest Zara. "Girls come on" He ordered.
"But daddy!" Zara whined, her lips pouted as she stood on the edge of the pool, the blue water illuminated the crystal clear water. "Out now, you're coming back here tomorrow" He explained with soft eyes. Zara grumpily came out of the pool when Lily's head popped out of the water "Wait what?" She asked, looking at her father and at Zara back and forth. "We're going" Zara said in annoyance, grabbing her towel in a swift motion and wrapped it around her small body. The girls quickly got dressed and said their farewells in a sweet tone "Thank you!" The girls said in sync with a big toothy grin on her face and the Carter finally got home. "I miss Joey and Teddy!" Zara cried aloud. Joey and Teddy are the family pet and are dearly loved. Joey was the newest addition to the family and had only been adopted yesterday.
Lily and Zara jumped out of the car once it was parked in the garage and raced inside with laughter. The parents smiled and just casually entered the house. The children were only greeted by Teddy, where was Joey? The girls searched for the puppy. "Joey!" They called. No panic yet but still concerned. Lily went upstairs and looked in each and every room, making sure every nook and cranny was not left untouched. While Zara looked downstairs, checking the pantry and outside. The two girls reunited and looked at each other with confusion. Ilana came up to them "You okay?" She asked. Being the emotional girl Zara is, she bursts into a puddle of tears "JOEY IS GONE!" Zara wailed as her mother tried to calm her down.
Rob quickly ran up and looked around "What's going on?" He asked. Ilana looked to him and mouthed "Joey's gone" As she continued to cuddled her daughter. As for Lily she just stood there, trying to figure what to do. Should she cuddle her sister or burst into tears as well? "Lily and I will go looking" Rob said and grabbed his phone and the pair went out. Rob switched the torchlight on as the phone lighted the street for them. "Are you okay?" Rob asked. Lily just nodded a yes. The father and daughter stayed silent except for whistling and yelling out for the pup. Nothing, Lily and Rob continued going up and down the street in hope of a sign of Joey. They soon gave up after a good twenty minutes and went back home. They were greeted by a crying Zara and a desperate Ilana. "He's gone" Rob concluded
"He's lost"

A/N: I would just like to say that this is a true story which just happened to me right now and I'm currently sitting under a blanket writing this to get rid of my emotions. All of these people are based on real people but the tagged links are not their real photos. Please do not steal this idea and I would love to hear some criticism from this but just remember that I wanted to release my emotions out, not to write a novel
