Lore5 Unleashed!

Flagg

The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment
Ok guys, memesis gave me the go-ahead to announce a functional version of lore5, the Compendium Redux's custom-made submissions engine.

It's not 100% finished, but it should be good enough to start using/testing. I'll be adding a link to it for each of the phpBB styles, but in the meantime, those of you without a link can get to it here: http://patternspider.net/exalted/lore5/

So, go ahead and check it out. Start submitting stuff. If you've already submitted things to the forums, please re-submit them to lore5.

I'm happy to finally have this going! Let's use this thread as the official posting spot for any questions/comments/bug reports for the new system.

If you have any problems, message me on AIM or Yahoo as 'opensorcerer' - I'm always there, even if I don't check the forums in a timely fashion.

Note to moderators:  there's an "unapproved" link on the Lore 5 menu, which shows items which haven't yet been approved.

Currently, unapproved items are NOT hidden from view.  This will be changing shortly.

Also soon to come: ratings.

Are the current forum approvers going to be migrated over soon?
Be specific.  What do you mean by "migrated over"?

Anyone in the Celestial Auditors group has the ability to approve Charms or to look at unapproved submissions.  If you are not sure how to do these things, or you see a problem with them (that hasn't been covered here), explain what the problem is.

memesis added all of the Dragon-Blooded Charms from the hardback, so you guys can start submitting DB Charms now as well.

Will there be a method for submitters to modify stuff once it is on lore5 themselves or will we still need to go through an Auditor?

~FC.

The author of a submission can edit their stuff at any time. Editing a submission will kick it back into the "unapproved" queue, so it won't be viewable until it's re-approved.

This should be a much cleaner/easier system.

What do you think?

I second that thank you to memesis.

I just posted an announcement to the WW forums. Hopefully it will stir up some submissions.

Clearly I'm completely retarded, because I am unable to figure out how to create a new martial art to submit charms into.

This is possible, right? The problem here is mine, I hope.

Martial arts are possible, but handled specially because they need a whole new Charm tree created.  This will be possible soon on an automatic basis.  For now just tell me the name of the tree and I'll make it for you.

You can now rate stuff.

you can't yet reply to ratings on your stuff.  I'll do that tomorrow.

Fixed submitting a new Combo

Deleted MOK's duplicate Charm entries

Beefed up newest-items list to show 20 apiece

Still working on adding replies to ratings, but since there's damn few so far this is a low priority.

Go rate stuff!

Speaking of ratings, that functionality is missing from Spells.

I'll add it in tonight.  To make ratings work for a given class of object, I only have to add one line to the template anyway, so it should be very fast once I get back home.

Hmm.  I just checked, and Mempo's spell can be rated just fine.  Please clarify the situation you were seeing.

That's odd. When I checked this morning there was no link there. Must have been a problem with my browser.

How about adding a link to Lore5 on the main page or in the menu?

Oh, that's Submissions is.  Duh!  Now I see it after I make an ass of myself again.

We now have Articles and Illustrations as submittable items, which can be rated as usual.

Cool. I think we need some menu items so we can actually, you know, access those areas ;)

You can't yet because those templates aren't added yet - I ran into a little snag during testing and will be handling it tonight.  Suffice it to say the backend stuff is working.

Also, the number of submission categories will quickly run off the space I have for the sidebar, so that has to be revamped anyway.

P.S. Go add statlines to your shit, like Essence use. :)
