Lore5: Combos

Any chance of getting the costs for activating Combos worked out so that it is calculated like the experience and freebie costs.  Either that or not approving it until the authors have included it in with the mechanics of the Combo.

Umm, basically, no.

Charm costs are highly idiosyncratic.  Many (most?) Comboable Charms come with a variable cost, or a mixed cost, and a few (Alchemicals, I'm looking at you) can often be activated in several modes.

What would you do?  Calculate the maximum possible activation cost (but what if it changes?)  Calculate the MINIMUM possible (but what if you  want to know how much more pricey it gets?)  Force Charm authors to provide some sort of minimum or maximum range?

Canonical Charms all have their costs listed.  User-created Charms obviously do as well.  The most I could do is pretty-print the Combo's Charm selection so that it showed various things (like Charm type and cost).

On the subject of combos:

Some sort of identifier showing which Exalt-type the combo belongs to would probably be in order. Right now, the only way to see the target crowd is through recognition of charms in the combo, or possible if it is mentioned in the description.

That might be problematic, since Eclipses can combo Charms of multiple Exalt types, and all Celestials can combo MA charms with their Exalt-type Charms.

Some combos could work for a variety of Exalted.

... either add 'Mixed' and 'Martial Arts' as possible values to that parameter (are there really any other possible combo-combinations?) or demand a clear, standardized explanation in the description of the combo... but that will be a pain, if ever combos from other sources are ported  into Lore5.

While it's not practical to classify a Combo under a given type overall, I have added a note to each Charm in the Combo display, showing which tree it belongs to.
