  Fairy Tail:

  Currently the smallest guild, it is recovering from many losses still that occurred during the Black Magic Fiasco and isn’t the most renowned either. Those that are in this guild, though, are the ones with a lot of heart, a lot of pride and a will that will never die.

  Sabertooth:

  Like the animal itself, Sabertooth guild members are those who invoke fear, not by intent, but by the fact that their strength is easily recognizable and unquestionable. Sabertooth mages are known to be among the strongest in Fiore and their strength is the kind of strength you see.

  Blue Pegasus:

  Although many would call it “too feminine” or “just plain silly,” these guild mages know how to get their jobs done. In fact, not only do they get the job done, but they manage to look good while doing so. Mages in Blue Pegasus are the kinds of mages you look at and say, “Yep! That’s a Blue Pegasus Mage.” It’s said in a good way, though.

  Lamia Scale:

  Known for their strategies and intellect, Lamia Scale - although it sprung up most recently - is already a guild to be reckoned with and they have quite a few numbers already. These are the mages with a mind that guides them while their heart drives them.

  Raven Tail:

  Originally rising to power when Royce Obertuck left Fairy Tail to create it, their power has since waned because of a rapid change of leadership that was forced upon them when Royce was arrested. Since then, there has been internal tension among guild members as some don’t agree with those who turned Royce in within the guild.

  Although it is the physical embodiment of the spirit itself, very few humans are actually able to tap into any magic power at all. Only about ten percent of all Earthland inhabitants are capable of using it due to the enormous amount of control and mental ability - along with emotional ability - that is required to use it. All magic comes from The One Magic - the source of all magic in the world. However, depending on the caster, the appearance of magic energy can take on many different forms.
  
  Please note that none of the lists below are complete. We may not have listed every magic that there is and we are willing to consider original magic abilities as well.

  • Specialist Magic

  • Also called Maker Magic, this is a type of magic that allows the user to create actual objects out of a naturally occurring substance. Due to their ability to create anything with their element, this brand of magic is limited only by the imagination of the mage. Casters of this magic can use static maker magic, dynamic maker magic, or both. Static maker magic involves the creation of non-moving objects. Dynamic maker magic involves teh creation of living-ish beings of the element. Examples of this type of magic include:

  • This branch of magic relates directly to dealings with the human mind and/or soul itself. Mages of this type not only can control other humans in some situations, but they also gain a greater insight of the people around them as well. The magic, in a sense, grants them an extra pair of eyes. Examples of this magic include:

  • As its name implies, this magic involves the manipulation of many things of extensive varieties. Mages who use this magic are probably the greatest variety of mages as there are so many possibilities for manipulation. Examples of this magic include:

  • As the last category of magic types, this one is - as its name implies - special and definitely deserving of its own category. These are magic abilities that cannot be taught. The user must be born with a natural affinity towards this magic in order to acquire it. As such, they tend to be exceedingly rare. Abilities of this type include:
    
    
    • Spontaneous Tissue Regeneration
      
      
    • Aera Magic (exclusive to Exceeds)
      
      
    • Battle Form (exclusive to Exceeds)
      
      
    • Dragon Slayer Magic (although it can be taught, very few things can actually teach it)

  x679: A guild war breaks out on Tenrou Island which a young woman named Mavis Vermilion calls home. She is the only known survivor and all guilds involved are destroyed.
  
  x686: The guild of Fairy Tail is founded and Mavis Vermilion is appointed its first guild master.
  
  x686: The Second Trade War - a war between guilds over territory and trading rights - erupts. Mages intervene.
  
  x690: The Second Trade War ends and the Inter-Guild Dispute Interdiction treaty is signed into law. No legal guilds can declare war against each other any longer. Disputes must be solved diplomatically or the Magic Council intervenes.
  
  x697: Mavis Vermilion’s grave is built on Tenrou Island. Per her last wishes, Precht is made the second Guild Master.

  x731: Much of Fairy Tail is destroyed in the Black Magic Fiasco. Only a few guild members remain.
  
  x732: The guild of Sabertooth is formed.
  
  x733: A young mage by the name of Astrid Ceral - after a year of searching - concluded that Precht had perished in the Black Magic Fiasco and declared herself the new Fairy Tail Guild Master.
  
  x734: The first official reconvening of Fairy Tail after the Black Magic Fiasco occurred. Royce Obertuck was a present mage who dared proclaim that Precht’s research ought to be continued due to it’s apparent power. Knowing that it was black magic, Astrid denied him and he abandoned the guild.
  
  x734: Royce Obertuck forms the guild known as Raven Tail. He pursues legal status and obtains it although Astrid vows to ensure he never achieves the black magic he is seeking.
  
  x745: After over ten years, Fairy Tail finally manages to rebuild their guild hall. Their small ranks have made accomplishing much difficult.
  
  x748: The guild of Blue Pegasus is formed.
  
  x756: After petitioning the magic council, Fairy Tail declares war on Raven Tail, seeking evidence of their use of black magic in order to get the other guilds to join in. Unable to find anything against the guild itself, the war is disbanded before too much damage can be done. Fairy Tail continues to be highly observant of Raven Tail, seeking any reason at all to reopen the investigation.
  
  x761: The guild of Lamia Scale is founded.
  
  x773: Evidence is brought forward by members of Raven Tail proving that Royce alone has been researching black magic. Royce Obertuck is arrested and a new Guild Master is instilled within the guild although tensions grow high between Fairy Tail and Raven Tail for some time after.

  Important Events - Detailed

  
  The Black Magic Fiasco
  

  The Black Magic Fiasco occurred during the reign of Fairy Tail’s second Guild Master - Precht. He was curious about black magic and he began experimenting with it, trying to see how powerful it could be. As an unfortunate result of one of his experiments, a spell backfired and destroyed the Fairy Tail guild hall along with most of the members inside. Emergency responders were deployed to Magnolia, citizens began to fear mages because a few civilians were touched by the explosion as well, and Fairy Tail as a guild was left in shambles. The only members who remained were those who had been out on mission at the time and it took years before they all assembled again. The fate of Precht is still unknown to this day. Meanwhile, Fairy Tail’s reputation is still recovering from his actions.
