"Growf!"
I have had a concept for a Modern Steampunk in the works for several years. Lately I started to transfer some of the material onto my newer laptop and into Chrome. (A lot of the old material won't copy over, so I have to rewrite.) The concept is going to require a grayer outlook than I normally use. I am beginning to realize I may be looking at developing antiheroes. That is very unlike me.
Originally the NPC's I had developed were intended as villains. I have referred to them as "magical pirates," but that doesn't really do the concept justice. For those familiar with White Wolf's Mage: The Ascension, this is a spinoff off the Sons of Ether order of mages. I just opted to use the single order, not all nine. In short these are the descendants of the original Sons of Ether that have grown jaded and burned out in their never ending war, and have begun to turn to piracy to gain the resources they need - sort of an ends justify the means idea.
This darker direction to the RP means I need a strong Co Mod to keep my Do No Wrong attitudes in check. He will also need to help me crush all the Mary Sues and Gary Stu's. We need to remember that there is still a war to be fought. So even the romantic notions of piracy need to be squashed.
