Loom of fate... Under the radar?

So i was reading through my copy of the 2nd edition story tellers guide (new :D ) when i came across a very interesting artifacts:

Shame’s Whiskers

"Once attuned to the artifacts, the bearer’s eyes take on a feline aspect, and he gains three bonus dice to any visual Perception

check. He also becomes able to instantly recover from socially damaging mistakes".... ect ect but this is about were the artifact intriged me;

"But the greatest power of Shame’s Whiskers is their

ability to perfectly conceal the one who wears them. As long as he does not want to be found, nobody seeking him intending

him punishment or harm can find him. This requires no effort on the part of the Exalt. He can sit in plain sight, for instance, and

watch his angry lover stomp past him. This protection extends to astrology and beyond. For anyone trying to find him for such an

unpleasant reason, it is as if he does not exist. To be found by someone seeking him for punishment, he must know that someone

seeks him and let her find him."

So does this basically mean a complete sheilding from the loom and the siddies , or am i mistaken. any comments?

Sounds like it, as long as the right condition is met.

However, I don't see why a third party who isn't intending the user harm couldn't bungle things.

"Oh, you're looking for Bob? He's right this way, I'll show you."

I'd say the protection extends that way too, actually! "Bob? Who?".. and an hour later.. "Of course, Booobb... damn, where's Chejop when I've an answer for him?"

It's a four-pointer requiring that it be worn obviously and prominently, and requires an expensive commitment cost.. I'm not sure would I make it a five-pointer anyway. But I've never seen it in play. It just looks great.

Or it could be: "yes, Bob is right over there"

But the evil person just still wouldn't be able to see the person to harm, no matter what, kind of like The Death's (and others) power Psychic Invisibility, this is from the GURPS version of the game: You are invisible to others, not because light passes through you, but because their minds insist that you aren't there; they literally refure to see you.

.....

Traces left by an invisible character (footprints and such) should theoretically be visible, but people tend to overlook them, or absent-mindedly sweep them away"

Ya true i was also thinking that maybe you would appear on the loom but when the siderial strike force moves in they wouldnt be able to find you.... either way though it sounds like an abyssal or other bad-ass characters can have fun with this artifact, provided they can find it... being in an unmarked lunar grave and all... if anyone wants it ill provide the page number.

This is a very useful artifact and personally I would rule that the Sidereals couldn't find you through astrology or by any means as long as they intend you harm.  I would think it works in a similar way as the Sidereals can't find the Deathlords or the demon (or the Deathknights if I remember correctly).

Either that or the 'hidden-in-mind' approach:  they simply refuse to see you.

However, this artifact, as useful as it is, has one big problem which discourages me from using it and would do the same to my players should they know about it: you have to hang those whiskers on your face.  Even though you could hide from anyone seeking to harm you, the rest of the people who don't want to harm you will all be going "what the hell is wrong with that person? Is he mentally retarded or something?"

I just think it's a major drawback.
