Would you be willing to do a different school? Like Ilvermorny or maybe one of the smaller local magical schools?

Ilvermorny is the American School. It's mostly a fanon creation. The general consensus among the fans is that Ilvermorny is sort of like a college system with Campuses across the country. It teaches similar subjects to Hogwarts but with bit more variety in the curriculum and electives.
So it would be a way to do a Harry Potter story without being beholden to the Hogwarts location.
The local schools are mentioned by JK Rowling as being where the "less elite" magical students go. The ones that can't afford/aren't invited to Hogwarts.
