Old thread is old, so I may as well quit bumping it and put up something more relevant and concise.
Hi. I'm a 25 year old roleplay-enthusiast that's had the hobby slowly dying over the years, due to a lack of activity with some of my oldest friends. I'm currently engaged in schooling for games-dealing and bartending in Nevada in order to take advantage of the apparent shortage of dealers the casinos have going on right now.
If I really had any rules, they'd be more like preferences.
1. Realism; an expectation to play your character both in a fair and believable manner. Power-gaming, meta-gaming and unusual displays of attention-seeking abilities ICly just show everyone you RP with that you're focused on making your character stand out, as opposed to letting on-going developments be their own highlights.
2. Literacy; competent use of the English language. Typos and occasional grammar mistakes are understandable.
3. Non-Forum Participation; I'm not a fan of using a forum to emote, and usually prefer roleplays proceed in real-time on something like Steam or Discord.

Right! So, now that I've got basic guidelines laid out (that are subject to in-depth debate later, I'm sure), what are my usual interests with roleplay?
I live and breathe this franchise in practically any form of roleplay I engage in; primarily due to the fact that I haven't had much chance to associate myself with anyone interested in other settings for roleplay.
Since Wrath of the Lich King was still a popular expansion in World of Warcraft, I've been developing and playing characters that have varying degrees of proper development. Roughly 20 characters in total so far, it's unusual for me to have no characters available to use in a particular area at any certain time.
I've only really played a single Argonian in roleplay involving this franchise, but I doubt I'll have much issue adapting to any other race.
I can go into much better detail for anyone particularly interested in Starbound RP (it's currently my preferred setting), although we are operating through Discord only.

My characters are varied in personality; it really depends on their upbringing, race and gender. I've played most races available in World of Warcraft, and my character list is balanced between males and females, so I don't have any issue playing anything new.
I've learned to be fairly detailed with emoting, and it's quite common to have a lot to read. If I'm not playing out the ambiance or background on-goings in the environment around the player characters, I'm writing the tone and accent of my character's words, the subtle shifts of their limbs and digits, the tension of their muscles (if relevant) as well as the more feral traits of characters based upon anthropomorphic design.

Given that there is a mention of romance with most threads I see, I'll be honest in saying that none of my characters are gonna be an immediate love-interest toward any of yours; neither will I tailor events in favor of getting them acquainted that way. I DO proceed romantic relationships once they're achieved, but like the fourth little guideline says, the roleplay is not based in this sort of thing.

This is all I really feel like typing up right now. Haven't had any luck in a LONG time with getting interest from players on RPN, so I figured a revised thread would be a fair death-rattle to this hobby before I put it on hiatus.

Probably not a big surprise to anyone. I've played enough of this series to have a fair level of awareness about the various playable races, their relevant events in history as well as their homelands, generally-known customs and racial tensions.

This is a setting I've recently got into between my two best RP pals. The current setting we're using is a space station in orbit above a moon, within a solar system consisting of a gas giant with a close orbit refinement facility, a life-sustainable planetary base of operations, a base set up on the moon and, of course, the space station itself.
