Caligula
An INFP pretending to be a misanthrope.
Might re-do this later with new plots.

I like your Elaine Wallace idea.Well, I guess I should start off by stating that my timezone is Pacific Standard (I currently live on the west coast). I don’t mind being called Caligula, but I usually go by AJ.
Anyway, on to RP details. I don’t have a preferred genre, but for original plots, I tend to stay away from medieval and high fantasy. I hate to sound close-minded, but I’ve just never found an original plot of those genres that interested me. Fandoms are a different story though. If it’s a Game of Thrones roleplay, for example, I’d definitely be up for trying something in that universe.
I’m a woman, but I play male characters as well. My ideas tend to require someone willing to play male, but If you would like only to play a female role, I’d be open to another plot suggestion. Just a tip though, and I know it’s a little weird, but it helps me get into an idea if you have a reference for the tone and such. Like if you’ve got a plot that’s kind of like Rick and Morty or Misfits (just as an example), it’d help me imagine it better if you mention it.
I also feel I should mention that I don’t have any strong triggers, tend to write dark themes and don’t shy away from much, so some of these plots aren’t particularly light-hearted. Please tell me any of your triggers if you have them, thanks ^^
Now here are my plots. Well, some of them at least. A lot of them have names for most of the characters already, but I don’t mind if you wanna change them. A lot is based on existing films or shows, which I’ll mention below the summaries for anyone that’s curious. Btw, I don't have any preference for gender combinations in romance, but overall I like to keep things open for platonic relationships too.
Elaine Wallace and Jonathan Westcott are two teenage students who turn to the internet as an escape from their less than satisfying lives. What starts out as harmless trolling progresses and leaks into their real lives in the form of pranks on other classmates. Ultimately, this leads them to catfish their teacher which is when it all officially begins to spiral out of control.
(Honestly, don’t have a lot of details thought out for this one, so suggestions are welcomed. The mentioned character I want to play is Elaine.)
Robin, a girl who's a bit of a spoiled only child with an affinity toward melodrama, is sent to live on her aunt and uncle's farm in Scotland after her recent rebellion has become too much for her parents. Not only does she have to live on a farm, but she is also enrolled in a nearby school, further adding to the extreme culture shock of it all. On her first day, she's approached by a boy named Murray, who attempts to mock her but fails since his accent is too strong for her to understand. Her cousin, Colin, informs her that the boy is a bully of his and that she should stay far away from him.
(I got this idea from a random scene in this movie called Neds. It has pretty much nothing to do with that movie outside of that fact lol. I imagine it set in maybe the mid-80s. The mentioned character(s) I want to play are Robin and possibly Colin.)
Takashi has a younger sister, Kokoro, of whom he’s extremely protective. He’s the person she spends most of her time with and practically takes on the role of an extra parent. Her brother is strict about where she’s allowed to go outside of school, who to hang out with and her school work. He also keeps her away from boys at all costs but neglects to keep an eye on his own friend, Morimoto, who’s been acting a little too fond of “Koko-chan” lately.
(My inspiration for this came from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift; I didn’t even bother changing the character names lol. Anyway, the mentioned character(s) I’d want to play are Kokoro and possibly Takashi.)
Hyewon is approaching the end of her last year in high school, which is widely considered the most difficult year to complete. One would think her focus would solely be on schoolwork, but she is also preoccupied with the heavy task of taking care of both her sister and their incompetent mother. She's especially protective of her younger sister, Hyesu, because she's so naive and reminds her too much of their mother who has had her heart broken many times. Because of this, she is hostile toward the girl's new boyfriend and repeatedly attempts to break them up.
(Possible love triangle here with a good mixture of humor and angst. The mentioned character(s) I want to play are Hyewon and maybe Hyesu but I don’t mind letting someone else play the latter.)
The chronicling of the rise and fall of an unsung punk rock band, this plot follows a misfit runaway teen with severe social anxiety. Somehow, she finds herself the frontman of an up and coming band, falling into an unstable lifestyle of drug abuse to remedy her overbearing stage fright. Soon she begins to feel restricted by her scandalous image despite it being the band's main draw which leads to a disastrous end.
(Obviously, this would be set sometime in the 70s or earlier because, if I’m not mistaken, that was the height of punk’s popularity. I would like to play the character mentioned in this summary, but am willing to compromise.)
In 1973, Jacqueline Lowry is the star of a once popular black sitcom that is steadily finding its way onto the network's chopping block. As a last-ditch effort to boost ratings, executives and the show's creator decide to make it about a blended family in an attempt to acquire a broader audience, hoping that it will not cause controversy instead. To gain a teen audience as well, they cast a well-known heartthrob in the role of Jacqueline's stepbrother and she worries that his presence will distract from her previously leading role.
(For this plot, I thought it’d be pretty fun to not only RP behind the scenes stuff but also scenes from the sitcom. I would like to play Jacqueline.)
In 1988, Devon is a musician who has been famous for a very brief time after having his first hit just a year ago. The pseudonym he's chosen to go by is Devine and what that tells you about him is most likely correct. "Devine" is very vain, his head growing quite big for someone so new to fame. Because of his attitude problem and lack of professionalism, the star has gone through a handful of agents and managers already and is currently without one. This is the perfect opportunity for novice manager Alice, who is hoping to land a huge client to boost her career. The determined woman attends a show of his at a nearby club and maneuvers her way into the VIP area to get to him. This at first makes her appear to be a groupie, but she her plan works out in the end. Now she’s stuck dealing with a male diva 24/7, unwillingly having to also take up the job of his personal assistant after his previous one finally quits.
(The mentioned character I’d like to play is Alice.)
In an undetermined year, Earth is at war with several planets after failing to colonize one. Life had nearly been wiped out completely, but now the number of inhabitants is steadily growing again. Thousands of people are still alive with more than half of the current population either fighting or being trained as future soldiers. Even children as young as seven-years-old are trained to be soldiers by the time they are thirteen or older.
(I have a lot more details to this that I’ve left out to save room. It’s an old idea though, so I might have to dig through some old documents to reread anything I forgot. There are no set characters.)
(Super dark plot incoming. Trigger warning for self-harm!) Elsie Hart is the latest celebrity sensation, having gained a loyal fan base as a child star. She has been signed to Nova Ent. for over a decade now, and their somewhat unique style of managing has paid off very well. Elsie is now more than human, she is an extremely marketable product, and even her DNA has been monetized after being sold and is now being used to create copies of her for distribution. Despite her incredible success, the woman cannot help feeling extremely depressed due to her lack of control over her own life. The way she presents herself, and even her social media, is either monitored or outright done for her. She has become prone to self-harm and is finding different ways to do it. This is why she now has been assigned what she half-jokingly refers to as a “nanny.” He is a strange man with only one eye (and an eyepatch covering what she assumes is an empty socket) who mostly keeps to himself. While he is very withdrawn, she eventually finds herself growing closer to him and forming a surprising friendship.
(This one is inspired by both Black Mirror and Antiviral. I’d like to play Elsie.)
There once was a planet in a universe far from Earth that resembled a star in its brightness but was made up of elements beyond our comprehension. There lived a species seemingly made entirely of light until they were invaded by another planet for their resources and promptly destroyed afterward. A small group managed to escape, nine children and their guardians fled the planet just before it was demolished, traveling as far away as they could. Most found themselves in the Milky Way galaxy and scattered in various locations on the planet Earth, adapting into the form of humans to survive the atmosphere. Unknown to the nine children, another escaped the planet; a child with unique tracking powers who could be used as a weapon against them if the enemy ever found out about her.
(This one is loosely inspired by the plot of I Am Number Four. I would prefer to play the tenth escaped child.)
Louise Kinsley was offered a job as a housekeeper and nanny. She would earn an excellent wage as a full-time worker if she looked after what she was told were the man's two ill children. When she arrives at the house though, she finds the "children" are two practically grown up twins. Though they are conjoined at the torso, they both seem fairly healthier than described yet are sheltered by their well-meaning but also neurotic father.
(Sort of inspired by Brothers of the Head, but hardly has any of the original plot elements besides conjoined twins. I would like to play Louise and one of the twins.)
Sooyun has known Seungsoo since they were children. Both their fathers were in business together, but while his prospered, Sooyun’s father went bankrupt. Ever since then, her family has relied heavily on his. Seungsoo took advantage of this, slowly making her dependant on him over the years. He controls her financially, emotionally and physically. She’s hardly allowed to even leave the house without him unless he’s unable to escort her. After a small incident where she’s supposedly caught flirting with a competitor of Seungsoo’s, he contacts a former low-income cage fighter named Yongjoon. He’s offered money to be Sooyun’s “bodyguard,” and having been a previous investment of the man’s, he accepts the job out of gratitude as well.
(I would like to play Sooyun and possibly Seungsoo.)
A woman returns to her childhood home in a half-hearted attempt to reconcile with her estranged father. As she explores the old house, it brings back memories, including ones of an imaginary land she would often retreat to during stressful times. When she accidentally transports herself into this world again and realizes that it may not have been as imaginary as she thought, she is confronted with the now unruly place she abandoned and the resentful old friend who's taken over.
(Kind of a very obvious Labyrinth/Drop Dead Fred rip off lol. I always imagined the “Fred” as a Billy Idol type though.)
Choi Kwangsoo is a manager working for a small talent agency who has become somewhat jaded with his choice of career and the entertainment industry in general. This changes when one day Jung Yeonhee, a half black orphan, auditions and is promptly rejected for her foreign appearance. After taking up for her, Kwangsoo loses his job. This just makes him more determined to make Yeonhee a star, even if he has to do it on his own.
(Inspired by pretty much just the first half of Tabloid Truth. The mentioned character I’d like to play is Yeonhee.)
Two years after her father's passing, Junghee is moved out to an isolated cottage at the insistence of the son of her father's old business partner. He has taken it upon himself to care for the severely anemic girl, but not without a hefty price. The man's advances add to the already depressed girl's sullen demeanor. One day, she finds a mysterious feral boy wandering around her property whose mannerisms are extremely canine-like. Despite her initial fear of him, she takes him in, and they form a quick bond that will have to withstand the scorn of Junghee's jealous keeper.
(If you’ve already seen the movie, then it’s pretty obvious that this idea is heavily based on A Werewolf Boy. I would like to play Junghee.)
Many centuries after the legendary Jeon Woochi is imprisoned in a painting, Jade Robinson is hired as a new guard at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. One day while she's on the night shift, the sorcerer somehow escapes his prison and quickly has to adapt to not only this new era but an entirely new country as well.
(Got my inspiration for this from the movie Jeon Woochi: The Taoist Wizard. The mentioned character I’d like to play is Jade.)
After several years of living in America, Hyejung returns to South Korea after her music career fails to launch. Hyejung is a tomboy and often acts in a ‘masculine’ manner, but she won’t change herself for anyone which may be partly why things didn’t work out.
She moves in with her grandma and cousin, Junghoon, who is an aspiring idol getting ready for his next audition. He has tried several times over the years and failed, but is insistent that this next audition to be a new member of M2 will be a success. Hyejung taunts him for this and half mockingly imitates one of their songs and routine since she considers them nothing more than a generic boy band. He films part of it to embarrass her and doesn’t delete the footage after she demands it. Later he’d regret that decision when instead of sending his own audition video to Sunny Management, he mistakenly sends Hyejung’s video.
To both their surprise, she’s contacted by the company, but because of this mix-up, they think her name is Junghoon and that she’s a boy. Instead of correcting them, Hyejung decides to take this chance to gain the fame she was not able to acquire in America.
Unfortunately, while the video gets her into the company, it also gets her on the bad side of M2’s leader. She had imitated his parts of the song and routine in particular, and he now considers her competition despite being a highly prized idol in his company.
(This is loosely based on K-Pop Extreme Survival. I didn’t even bother to change the group’s name since I can’t think of another, so if you’ve got a better one, please suggest it lol.)
An androgynous teen named Ramon leads a group of homeless runaways in a series of burglaries taking place in a gated community where he used to live.
(This is just the general idea I have so far. I haven’t decided on many other details. I would most likely play Ramon.)
After being brutalized by her former boss, Han Mikyung uses the footage she'd captured of his crime to blackmail him into paying her $300,000. He sends a struggling salaryman named Sangmin who works for him to pay her, but the man decides to take the hush money for himself, and instead sends his volatile younger brother Seunghwan to retrieve the incriminating video. Seunghwan was expected to strong-arm the woman but goes against the original plan and murders her before getting the footage. Unbeknownst to him, Mikyung doesn't live alone and her younger sister, Minjun, has seen his crime. Still empty-handed, he decides to kidnap the witness instead of eliminating her in hopes that she will tell him where to find what he's looking for.
(Pretty much took the plot of the 2014 movie Monster and made it less convoluted. The mentioned character(s) I would play are Minjun and maybe Sangmin.)
In the early 1900s, a sadistic man named Theodore Palmer terrorizes his new wife and long-suffering nephew. He makes no secret of his resentment toward Maura, who he was essentially forced to marry to keep up appearances, and Percy takes the brunt of most of the man's physical abuse. Soon after the man begins committing appalling crimes on the isolated ranch they all reside in, Maura reaches her breaking point and begins plotting his death to free herself and Percy of him.
(This isn’t based on a movie, but an actual crime from the early 20th century. However, all the characters mentioned are fictional. I’m fine playing any of the characters mentioned.)
Chaewon and Changwoo both participated in a televised music competition as teenagers. While Chaewon was kicked off midway, Changwoo continued till the very end and won the competition. Though even the eventual losers have managed a modicum of success, she has had none and remains bitterly unemployed years later. When Chaewon runs into the inebriated star at a club, she goes home with him but is enraged when she realizes that he doesn't recognize her at all. This all leads to a haphazard kidnapping plan.
(This one is very, very loosely based on Codename: Jackal. I would like to play Chaewon.)
Nam Jooeun, the emotionally neglected daughter of a wealthy CEO, is kidnapped by two of her father's bumbling ex-employees. Their poorly constructed plan allows her to turn the tables early on, though instead of escaping, the girl continues to orchestrate her own kidnapping in an attempt to finally gain the attention of her parents.
(Came up with this plot after reading a summary of Mr. Vengeance. I would prefer to play Jooeun.)
Nakajima Michiko is a half Japanese teen who has spent most of her life studying abroad in the United States. Nearing her 17th birthday, she comes to visit her father in Japan only to witness the murder of both her parents. Having no other remaining family members, she is put in the custody of her older cousin, Masuda Reiji, who she knows absolutely nothing about. He’s extremely rigid and seems to speak very little English, so their relationship is very strained at first. Over time they bond, she finds out that both her father and him were Yakuza who wanted out, and eventually the two plot their revenge together.
(I would prefer to play Michi.)
Haneul is a mixed Korean/Chinese woman living in South Korea. At just 30 years of age, she's had what already feels like a long and tiring life and is visibly apathetic toward it at times. Though she was born in Busan, she lives in Itaewon now, in a cheap villa next to an older man named Sangchul who is her only friend (though she won't admit it). With her overall unwelcoming and sometimes even outright rude personality she doesn't make friends easily. She lives a secret life unknown to even those close to her. Haneul is a black market organ harvester; a job she got into after dropping out of med school due to the high cost of it. Unfortunately, when her father's health deteriorates further, and he passes away, she is left with a somewhat unwelcomed new responsibility; her 14-year-old son.
(I would mainly like to play Haneul and will also play any other character mentioned.)
Oyama Kiwako is a 16-year-old girl whose life becomes entangled in small Yakuza clan she inherits after her father dies. Her father was definitely no Yakuza and was an honest working man taking care of a teenage daughter on his own before being struck by a car. Coincidentally, this happened not long after his estranged grandfather passed away, and told his second in command, Tokuda Hiroshi, to make sure a blood relative takes over the clan.
(This is loosely based on Sailor Suit and Machine Gun. I would like to play Oyama and would also take the roles of at least two of the Yakuza.)
And a writing sample:
An overbearing bout of anxiety began creeping up on Elle as it slowly donned on her that all the friends she'd arrived with had ditched her. She stood alone in the corner of a crowded room, unable to escape the sound of EDM blasting through the house as her eyes scanned the room for any sign of them, spotting only a few vaguely familiar faces (some of which were redder than usual). Slowly she moved past the spastic movement of bodies scattered around the area due to lack of a dance floor. The girl slipped into an empty spot by the nearly barren snack table. If she had to be here alone, she could at least find something to eat among the wasteland of sparse finger foods laid out.
She gulped down the last bit of drink one of her friends had given her before disappearing before refilling the cup. It was supposedly a mixture of punch and alcohol, but Elle tasted not a hint of fruit, and the liquor was so potent it made her eyes water. Still, she pushed past the tears and burning throat to chug down another cup as fast as she could to relax her nerves, repeating the process after she had finished. Due to her small frame, the alcohol began to take effect only halfway through her third cup. Her nose burned and her head emptied momentarily until a voice suddenly rose slightly over wordless electronic beats. She noticeably flinched back, then let out a sigh after seeing who it was, though it wasn't clear if it was out of relief or disappointment at his presence.
"Um...what?" she replied, not exactly sure what he had said. Her voice was muffled entirely by the music, prompting Scott to lean in closer to hear her.
"I asked where your friends are," he spoke loudly despite his face being just inches away from her ear. "It's weird. I could've sworn you and Sadie were siamese twins or something."
She quickly turned her head, disorientated by his voice booming against her eardrum. "I need to use the bathroom," she hastily excused herself, sliding past him and heading toward the stairs in hopes that she would find a quieter area. The alcohol hadn't entirely dulled her nerves, and she needed to clear her head. Fortunately for her, the music wasn't much more than heavy bass thudding under feet once she was on the second floor.
