Roleplay Type(s)
Hi all, I'm jeebie (any pronouns) and I'm looking for someone who's interested in a mage/apprentice dynamic roleplay. I don't have a strict preference for which role I'd like to play in this scenario, but I'm leaning towards playing the apprentice this time if you're indecisive like me!

Also, I'm planning to play a male character. M, F, NB (or any combination thereof) are all welcome! Romance is optional, and I'm fine with poly pairings too.

A little bit about me:
  • I'm 22, and I would prefer a partner who is 18+! I have nothing against minors, and I also wrote on forums like this one when I was a minor myself.
  • Writing is my primary hobby— if I had to choose, I would prefer a short but quality post over a gratuitously long post with lower quality. With that said, my posts are usually 500-2000 words long, averaging out at 1000 words.
  • I'm not a stickler for reply time. My most comfortable pace is 2x/Week, but I can also do 1x/week! Specifics can be discussed in PMs.
  • I love plotting in OOC and I've got OC brainrot. Pinterest boards, playlists, the whole nine yards!
  • All my characters are queer and diverse in some way. I write what I know *shrugs*

In a distant land, there exists a nation inhabited by elves. The formation of this nation was dark and bloody, but the effort of elves with natural aptitudes for leadership and magecraft has turned the nation into a peaceful place to live. It's not long for this world, but that's beside the point.

It seems like the nation's slow transition from being violent and bloody to peaceful and clean has coincided with a rise in quarrels in the relationship of one Dr. Magnelis, a researcher of the magickal arts, and one Count Grimsbane, ruler of a sizeable portion of the nation's land.
The latest accusation that both parties are fighting over is that neither one does any actual work now that the nation has achieved its goal of peace. Dr. Magnelis spends more time sleeping and bulk-buying magickal reagents that rest dusty and disused on the shelves of his laboratory than actually casting spells. The long games of polo and lavish late-night parties Count Grimsbane throws can hardly be called work in any sense. Thus, they've come to an ultimatum: if neither one does any actual work, it won't be a big deal if they switch roles, right? The bookish and antisocial Dr. Magnelis will become an athletic social butterfly who can rule over the county of Grimsbane in a warmhearted and just manner, and the exciteable and extroverted Count Grimsbane will be thrust into a rigorous scholarly magecraft apprenticeship with [Y/C], a well-regarded mage (you can pick the field of study) hailing from a distant land of your choice. The first to admit that either does in fact do work loses. Elves are famously obstinate and nonsensical like that.

And of course, a writing sample! This is an excerpt of a ~1.1k word reply.

Among the common folk watching the dragon’s parade from the streets, the bravest of them are those who stand closest to the edges. Of that brave few, those who had the gall to sneakily reach their hands out in a bid to touch the dragon, despite the act being strictly forbidden, were in a league of their own. Of that meager number, nearly every palm had evidence of magickal practice in them— Ayida could feel the interference of their miniscule magickal auras colliding with his own with their brief physical contact.
The number was tiny, but much greater than it had ever been during any Festival Ayida had participated in, or any moment in the entirety of Kaoya’s history. Historically speaking, the Great Dragon had always been a figure to view in awe— a grand beast to evoke terror in the Kingdom’s enemies and instill reverent fear in the populace— especially considering some of the more surly and outright violent dragons Kaoya had appointed in the past.
Their fingertips, glancing off his tight-fit scales, contained no malice— just curiosity. Still, he is insulted at their evident use of magick, and how it emboldened them to cop a feel. He considers sending an electric current through his damp body to teach those brazen few a rather painful lesson and in the next second he feels shame. Such an act would be inexcusable, especially while he’s escorting his king. At what point in the last 50 years had the thought of such cruelty taken root in his mind?
The populace regarded Ayida favorably. His wholehearted willingness to become the Great Dragon during his ceremony nearly 100 years ago was notable, as was his affability. Though he cared little about the opinions of the common people, it’d be foolish for him to entirely disregard their thoughts. After all, their love for him tended to outweigh the more strenuous aspects of his being, especially when it came to the hushed conversations about the war and his subsequent leadership.
