Zayden, Zayden King. He was a basic normal dude who lived with his mother who was a mid class woman. At least knew how to put dinner on the table. Zayden is a caring kid who had some friends. He usually like to make others laugh and worked in a coffee shop. Starbucks. Yes, he loves coffee of course. His eyes opened to the sound of his phone ringing to wake him up for school.

He let out a deep sigh struggling to his feet pushing the covers off of his body. He looked around his room grabbing a pair of jeans and sniffed them to see if they smelled alright. They were fine. He changed his boxers then slipped his jeans on over. Reaching for a grey t shirt. He stumbled into the bathroom and starred at his reflection. "Hello, Today will be a good day..." He said smiling widely as he began to brush his teeth. When he was done with everything he topped it off with some old spice. Fragmenting the room beautifully.

Zayden headed downstairs and was out the door grabbing his keys on the way. He worked at five today. It was a good job indeed. He zoomed his way to school seeing kids that attended to the same place were walking staring as he drove past. He finally arrived stepping out with some style. He had a loose beanie on top of his head as he shut the door behind him. People of course glared. Girls stared. He didn't really mind it but all he wanted to do was get this day over with as he stared up at the big building before his Hazel eyes.

Claire opened her eyes, seeing her alarm clock hasn't gone off yet. Lately she's been waking up early, the new pain reliever that the doctor prescribed her told her that one of the side effects would cause insomnia. She sighed then rubbed her face, throwing the covers off of her. She looked down at her legs, her broken sore legs. Her eyes closed and she leaned her head back agaisnt the wall, taking in deep breaths. Her wheel chair sat beside her, but she's unable to place herself in it on her own. She usually has her dad help her.

Outside of her bedroom door she could hear her dad pacing around. He was always up and stirring around the house this early in the morning. He has trouble sleeping too, but it's mostly from stress. Claire and her father don't have the best relationship, even before her mother left it wasn't that great. She leaned her head away from the wall and opened her eyes, looking towards the door.

"Dad!" She called, hopefully loud enough for him to hear. Footsteps were drawing near her door, and soon the handle jiggled. Her door swung open and there stood her dad. He walked over to stand near her bedside. "Help me please?" She asked. He then put an arm around her back and underneath her knees, carrying her and placing her down in the wheelchair. The doctor said this is the only routine she can use or else it will hurt her. Once she was placed in the chair she began following her dad out of the room. Her bedroom is placed downstairs, so she doesn't have to climb anywhere. There's an upstairs, but that's where her dad's room is.

"Thanks dad." She said but before he even heard her he was out of sight and upstairs, getting ready for work. The school from her house is only a couple blocks away, so she wheels herself there every morning. She wheeled herself to the bathroom and began to brush her hair. She usually leaves it down naturally since she doesn't care to fix it up much. Every morning nurses come in and get her dressed. Her regular nurse arrived and began getting her dressed, once everything was made sure to be okay, the nurse left.

Claire didn't bother saying bye to her dad and made her way out the door, going down a wooden homemade ramp instead of the porch steps. Her backpack sat in her lap as she made her way to school. The school was indeed a large building. She made her usual route to school, taking the allyway that led straight for it. She soon arrived, going down the paved sidewalk to the front doors. The doors won't open for a couple more minutes. People were pointing to her and laughing, but by now she was used to it. She waited patiently for school to start. The Bell hasn't even rang, but she feels as though today will be a long day.

Zayden swung his bag over his shoulder placing his keys into his pants pocket carefully striding up to the school. His curly hair fell in front of his eyes he slowly lifted it away by using his fingertips to remove it from his eyes. He kept his gaze forwards. Leaning up against the concrete wall staring at the door people passing by laughing loudly talking about what they're gonna do on an evening like this.

Mostly party. His back was up against it while folding his arms along his nice chest. He let out a sigh seeing a girl in a wheel chair making her way towards the school. She was waiting for school to start like everyone else. He felt bad making a side lipped facial expression biting the inside of his cheek. "Hey man!" A voice said coming up behind him. Zayden turned his gaze from the girl to look at one of his buddies, Adam. "Hey" He said shaking the other dudes hand. "What you looking at?" Adam asked curiously furrowing his dark brows. Zayden shrugged and gave a soft smile. "None of your business" He spit laughing a bit.

Adam got in front of him scanning around to find that Zayden was looking at the girl in the wheelchair. "Why the hell you looking at her?" Adam questioned. Zayden rolled his eyes "I feel bad for her". "Well don't get any ideas, She has no legs buddy she wouldn't be able to keep up with you if she even tried" He said gripping his shoulder laughing. Zayden shook his head out of disappointment. "Just. No" He said bluntly then headed inside right as the bell rang shoving Adams hand off his shoulder and headed towards his first class.

Claire could feel eyes on her. Every time someone looks at her she guesses that they're judging her. She looked over slightly to see a guy looking at her, her gaze shifted away once another kid came up. This other guy was talking loud enough for her to hear. Her eyes closed and she furrowed her eyebrows, waiting for him to stop making fun of her. After that, she didn't look over anymore and was completely embarrassed. Other people probably heard it too.

The bell suddenly rang and a bunch of impatient teenagers walked quickly into the building. Some swirved out of Claire's way, others shoved passed her, pushing her around. Once most of everyone was in the building, she finally made her way inside. All the people in the building were scattered around, scurrying to their classes. She took her time as she wheeled herself around. All of her classes were on the bottom floor. Her first class is math, and she made her way to room 107, seeing the teacher Ms. Poindexter. Claire went to a corner in the back if class, watching as other kids arrived.

Snotty girls gave her dirty looks. She just ignored them by looking down at the floor nervously. Their eyes still burned into her. They were trying to make her feel uncomfortable. A piece of balled up paper was thrown at her, and she didn't pick it up. She didn't want to know what it said.

"Hey, hey weirdo." One of the girls whispered to her. "Pick the piece of paper up or I'll tip you over, cow." She giggled with the rest of her friends. She wasn't actually going to do it. That snotty girl was one of those people that like to entertain the rest of their friends by saying something stupid that they'll never do.

Zayden hated the fact that there was so much bullying going on in this school. The sad part is the fact they harass that poor girl in the wheelchair. She hadn't done anything. That's all that goes on. He could tell she was embarrassed after his friend was saying horrible things about her. Zayden looked over at the girl who was being shoved around. What should I do? He thought. He couldn't just let her being pushed around like that. But then she wheeled herself in like everyday. Zayden just watched from a far distance as she made her way to her class. His first period was with this girl.

He never really talked to her before. He grabbed his things and held them in his arms slamming his locker door loudly. Then of course a couple of girls came up to him giggling. "Hey, Zayden" They all said as one of them winked as they passed by. He just furrowed his brows and didn't really care for them. Zayden headed down the hallway crowds of people swarming by him. His eyes shifted around to look at everyone who passed by. Some were stoned, some were tacky looking. Well most of them were tacky looking. Zayden let out a big sigh as he entered Ms. Poindexters class. Of course those annoying girls were harassing the poor girl.

"Shut up..." He said rolling his eyes at their bullshit. "We all know you're not gonna do anything, and you seem pretty low to be picking on a girl that is way smarter than you" His eyes looked at Claire "And prettier" He smiled widely then looked over at the popular girls with a glare. "So mind as well be quite, Thank you". Zayden plopped down in a chair setting his things on the table in front of him. He grabbed a pencil from his bag and held it in his hands tightly.

Her eyes adverted towards the dark wooden heavy door, seeing Zayden walk into the classroom. Embarrassment washed over her as she saw who he was. He was that guy from outside...the one standing with the other mean kid. Claire immediately looked down, beginning to get red faced from the embarrassment these girls were giving to her. For a long moment she stayed staring down at the big books rested onto her lap. Her eyebrows were furrowed as her smooth brown hair covered her face when she dipped her head down to get the mean girls completely out of her sight.

A sudden voice began to speak and it wasn't familiar, but she looked up to see who it was. Zayden, surprisingly. A sense of confusion filled her, but was glad he was taking a stand to shut them up. Her arms crossed to hug her books as she watched him smile at her. An awkward half smile began to crack upon her face but then soon turned into a full smile when he looked away. She motioned her hand quickly over her mouth before she began to laugh at his last comment.

The dumb girls shut up once Zayden started speaking. They crossed their arms and did the eye roll thing, crossing their legs to make themselves look like nothing ever happened. One of the girls turned around and looked at Claire, glaring at her and mouthing the words 'you're gonna get it,' angrily. Claire's eyes widened a bit, hopefully that girl doesn't see her wheel herself home after school. She shifted her eyes over towards Zayden, his kindness was unexpected for her. It was a nice surprise. "Thank you." Claire whispered before the final Bell of class rang.

Ms. Poindexter stood at the front of class, gesturing towards the white board. Some math equations were scribbled in black expo marker. Opening her notebook, she began to write them down and calculate them in her head. The answer soon came to her and she jotted it down quickly, shutting her notebook and waiting for the rest of the class to finish.

Zayden say comfortably in his metal chair that sat on the hard wooden floor below his black sneakers. His brown curly hair flipped over his eye brows a bit leaning down into his eyes. He just glared back at the dumb girls acting like that whole incident ever happened. They were so clueless. He smirked a bit when he heard a light coming from behind him. He looked over his shoulder to see the girl in the wheelchair holding her mouth just with a tight grip across her lips to hold in the sound. Zayden chuckled softly.

It was from his last remark towards those idiot girls. "Thank you..." Claire said in a hushed tone. Zayden nodded at her as a nice gesture of saying 'no problem'. His hazel eyes shifted at the front of the room where ms. Poindexter stood. Making motions with her hands drawing on the board behind her all dramatically. Zayden really didn't care for this class. His back pressed against the seat more as he let his strong arms hang loosely and his legs spread wide on the floor giving up. He didn't want to do work right. All he wanted was for school to end. He glanced at the clock impatiently tapping his foot over and over again. He could feel his stomach rumbling from under his clothes and skin.

Zayden hadn't ate breakfast this morning so all he could think about was eating a whole box pizza. But it's school... He couldn't do that. It was bullshit. Zayden looked over at Claire and the other girls at the table. He stood up slowly walking past them glaring whisling silently heading over towards the pencil sharpener. Once he placed the pencil into the object he pushed it in. It made the old electric sound as it made the led sharp. He waited for when one of the girls would speak up then would press the pencil in over and over so they wouldn't be able to talk.
