Bio: Marcus was born in Eisenach, into an aristocrat family that resides in the Wartburg Castle overlooking the town, the von Schleicher family could trace it's history as far back as 1612, being made Reichsgraf (Imperial Count) by Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand III during Thirty Years War. Marcus' father, Hans Oswald Graf von Schleicher served as an officer in the Imperial Army during WW1 and retired from the Weimar Reichswehr after the war.

As a young man, Marcus spent most of his teenage year in the big city, Frankfurt am Main. As schoolboy he was considered a slow but persistent learner; this persistence was no doubt honed over long hours of running, jumping and skiing rather than doing his homework. During this time he also participated in the Wandervogel, a popular movement of German youth group emerged in late 19th century who protested against industrialization by going to hike in the country and commune with nature in the woods. In 1932, he enrolled to the Kriegsschule in Hannover for basic officer training course, him and his fellow Fahnenjunker (officer candidate) underwent extensive training, before he went on to be commissioned as an officer in the newly formed Wehrmacht Heer. He was a Leutnant (second lieutenant) assigned to the 29th Infantry Division when he participated in his first action, he was with the German army that swept through Poland like lightning, then march through Belgium into France, all the way to Dunkirk. He was decorated and promoted several times before 1942 when, Marcus, as a Hauptmann(captain), was reassigned and sent to fight in the southern sectors of the Eastern Front, ultimately trapped in the bloody urban battle in Stalingrad. It was there that Marcus was once bitten by the unusually sharp teeth of a wounded Russian soldier when both of them had lost their weapon in the chaotic close quarter combat, still Marcus managed to kill the deranged Russian with a piece of sharp wooden debris. After months of enduring the brutal battle, the 6th Army eventually surrendered under order of Feldmarschall Paulus, and at the end Marcus was one of the 6000 of the 90,000 German POWs from Stalingrad who survived the Gulag that made it back home after WW2. It was in the years after the war that he slowly found himself barely even aged compare to his old comrades, combine with the occasional weird bloodthirstiness, that eventually led to him discovering that he had become immortal, a vampire.

  ✧Caretaker: Despite his position as a very much coddled youngest of four, Jay often tries to take care of those around him. Jay always makes himself available to act as a sounding board for his friends. He likes to take care of people and is invested in the safety and success of others—perhaps because he feels like, no matter what he does, his success will never be his own.
  
  ✧Socially Perceptive: Growing up in a wealthy, socially-invested family meant that social repartees were required of Jay and his siblings from a young age. While he’s not the most book-smart, Jay reads people well and easily.
  
  ✧(Somewhat) Nihilistic: With a life planned out for him from birth and unintentional emotional abandonment by his family after his accident, Jay doesn’t feel like his own life has a lot of impact or meaning. He spends his family’s money, they make it right back; he fails a class, and no one seems to care; he puts himself in dangerous situations, and he’s wished well on his way.
  
  ✧Sincere: Jay doesn’t have much to lose no matter what he says or does. With that comes a lot of freedom to act however he wishes to whomever. Outside of the society events that he sporadically attends, there’s not much need for him to lie. So he doesn’t. His interactions are genuine—positive or not.

  Yeungjae, or Jay to practically everyone except his family, was born as the third son and fourth child of wealthy Korean parents. New to America but from old money in Korea, the Park family’s move to the US was struggle-free. Being born into such a situation meant that Jay’s younger years were firmly seated in luxury’s lap.
  
  Though most of his family’s assets were already promised by tradition to his eldest siblings, Jay still benefited from them, and as such was still expected to add to his family’s station. But, following the path of many spoiled children, those expectations led to some rowdy teen years for Jay’s parents to deal with. On the drive home from an already stressful event, an offhand comment quickly escalated into a shouting match between Yeungjae and his family. His mother kicked him out of the car, with no complaints from the others, and informed him that he wouldn’t be allowed home that night if he didn’t cool his head.
  
  A larger argument ensued, but his family inevitably drove off. Left to his teenage rebellion, Jay spent the next few blocks kicking rocks, scuffing his shoes, and grumbling in anger. Too absorbed in his wallowing, he failed to notice a car speeding down the street as he stepped on to the crosswalk.
  
  He woke up in the hospital four days later and was released three weeks after that. But by the time he was home, the family dynamic had irreparably changed. When his parents or siblings looked at him, bandaged and in casts, all they could feel was guilt for leaving him that day. Unwarranted guilt or not, they never wanted an accident like that to happen again. And so they gave Jay everything he wanted, unintentionally distancing themselves along the way.
  
  Unable to stand the constant shame in their eyes, Jay spent less and less time at home. After his recovery, the family rarely gathered together.
