Roleplay Type(s)
Hi there! I'm Fiore, but please call me Ash. I'm 25, and I started forum RP when I was in midde school, so that makes it about 12 years of RPing experience. And now, since it's important, I'll list other things that take up most of my time: I have a job in retail management (yay /sarcasm), I'm in a relationship, and I am starting classes again in about a month (science major!), so I typically will not reply every day.

That said, I'm looking for a match for just a few partners, as I don't want to overload myself. I haven't done any RPs in about a year after my previous forum went belly-up, although I've still been writing in the meantime. I'd like to get a taste of your characters and writing style before getting into any serious RPs, and see if we actually mesh well as partners as far as planning and world building. If I decide I'm not interested, I will always let you know.

Preferences (because everyone has them):
  • I prefer to RP with people who are 18+.
  • I don't do any fancy formatting for posts but I don't really mind if you do. The most I do is use a character sheet, and again, I don't really mind if you make one or not.
  • I prefer to stay on-site with threads or PMs but I'm open to Discord.
  • I write multiple paragraphs per post and would like to collaborate with someone who is on the same literacy level.
  • I like it when partners contribute with specifics! Don't be afraid to say you'd like to change something about the world or you want to incorporate a specific scene or plot point or character. Those are the kinds of things that keep interest in stories. I have plots and worlds and characters made, sure, but they are always malleable. RP is collaborative writing!
Below are a list of my plots and characters. Of course, we don't have to use any of these. They're all just ideas, and I'm open to any offers for your plots as well. If it doesn't tickle my fancy, the worst I'll say is that it doesn't interest me.

Plots:

"The Feral" (sci-fi/post apocalyptic)
2100 AD
Deforestation, carbon emissions, oil spills, garbage, war, and natural disasters... An irreversible chain of events ultimately caused by the hungry hands of human greed. By the time the world's political leaders couldn't ignore the desperate state of the world and environment, it was too late to reverse the damage. With the forests hacked away to stumps, the oceans turning acidic and drowning in pollution, and the atmosphere turning to poison, humanity nearly became extinct from natural disasters and wars over the last remaining resources.
Now finally fearing their own demise, the world’s wealthiest political leaders and businesses began drumming up a new project.
Hastily, they built the Domes: vast structures, bubbles as large as mountains, built to protect those wealthy enough to get inside. Originally, these self sufficient bio-domes were drafted as structures to be built on Mars for the eventual colonization, but the wars and disasters seeped the funding from the world's space programs and no human ever set foot on the red planet.
Outside, the rest of the world caved on itself, and left nearly nothing but waste and death behind.
2631 AD
Five hundred years later, located in the center of the continent, is a dome with cities, theme parks, forests, seas, highways, and farms. Its hull shields its inhabitants from the rays of the sun like a second atmosphere, and like an atmosphere it also has its own automated weather system.
Outside is an unexplored world of vast deserts, oceans, forests, and mysterious creatures. The people inside the domes never dare leave their sanctuary, not only for fear of the unpredictable weather, sunlight, or animals, but for the "people," the Fera who live out there...

Cowboys and Witches (fantasy/western)
In a land that time forgot, a town called Friendship is the end of the line. Beyond it, a desert world unknown.
Friendship's beginning boomed. The town saw prosperity despite battling the fearsome desert creatures and Witches who sought to curse and drive them from the land. Twelve years ago, the mines collapsed, the railroad went no further, and Friendship's resources dried up. The trains stopped coming to station. Now, the town is a ghost of what it was, and its last few residents, with nowhere else to go, cling to the hope that they'll be left in peace.
Creatures:
Giant Scorpions range from a foot long when they hatch to about ten feet long from head to base of tail as an adult. There is one named Chelifer that lives in Chelifer's Canyon and is about seventeen feet long. There have been no other larger scorpions. Their colors range from sandy yellow to brown and are known to prey on humans, cattle, and even horses.
Ghost Rattlers are a species of rattlesnake known for their uncanny ability to camouflage themselves into nearly any background. If bitten, the venom places a curse on the victim that steadily gets worse over time (average time? 1 week). The victim may start noticing they have lost a shoe, misplaced an important item, and later may have accidents, lose large bets, and eventually the venom drives the person insane.
Spooks are the animated remains of people who died or were trapped when the mines collapsed. Efforts to re-open the mines were scrapped when people were dragged in by the decaying hands and never came out. The mines are now boarded and blocked off, but occasionally a spook will emerge from some unknown exit and make its way towards the nearest town. Spooks cannot be killed, except with fire.

"Visibility Zero" (horror, fantasy, etc.)
Worlds apart, people talk about them. Hushed voices, low tones, quick words. Stories of children spirited away, of grown men disappearing to the sound of silence, of women widowed by death or something worse. To anyone who didn't know, they would look natural, if ill-timed; mists that floated in on a haphazard breeze and disappeared just as quickly. But the last thing to call them is natural.
The mists eat.
This predator is picky though. Some people wander in only to find their way out a couple of miles away, baffled and slightly unfulfilled by their run-in with the swallowing mists. Those are the lucky ones. Then there are the groups that are caught and wander aimlessly for hours. And when a drop of sunlight breaks through the mists, they've found their way into a completely new world, a completely new time or some grotesque mix of the two. And the mists will just float away. At least, that's how it has been.
Slowly, the mists have grown thick and dark, more like rainclouds that mists. And every so often, they'll belch a monster. Things with claws and fangs, things with acid, swarms, legions, demons. Every terror that lurks in the mind spills out into the worlds and bleed darkness unto them. Through the mists, from some black pit in another world. And no one has the solution. At least, not in this world...
The only way to fight is by using the enemy. The only way to learn is to move with the mists. And the only way to survive is to keep an eye on your back.

Feel free to PM me if you have interest. Tell me a bit about what you're looking for, what kind of characters you like to play or what ideas you have for plots. :csmile:
Also, I'm sorry about this post length. I tried to use spoilers and it totally fucked up the formatting (haha, which is kind of why I hate formatting) so I gave up on it.
