This was not Lupine’s first time dealing with a facility-shattering ordeal, and as fate would have it, this would not be her last. Her arms ached, shivering from exertion, but she was still alive. Heavy, ragged breaths escaped from her, but for the most part she seemed to be functional enough to continue work. How fortunate!
The same could not be said for Calendula. Lupine glanced over to her colleague, grey eyes passing over her damaged arms, “Oh dear… you should retreat to a Main Room and recover. I’m not sure if there are any recovery bullets left for the manager to use.”
Covered in dust, blood and debris, Lupine helped Calendula out from under their rubble shield (if she needed or accepted it). She then dusted herself off, coughing from the choking vapours and dust. Somehow, her glasses were in immaculate condition despite the grime covering the rest of Lupine. In the dimness of the ruins, it glittered and shined with almost the same lustre as her flower.
Although the rest of her looked exhausted, Lupine’s expression only held bubbling joy as Hydrangea patted her fluffy, albeit dusty, hair. She beamed, “Hehe, I’m just doing my job! You’ve got to face the fear to make the future!”
“Oh!” Lupine started, her attention fluttering over to the poor man pinned beneath rubble. "Oopsie! I'll go get him!"
She crawled under a broken beam, making sure not to step on the body below it, and made her way towards Zi Hua. On her way, she noticed the black thorns slowly growing across the bloody ground, hungry and thick.
“Ah, it seems T-06-88 has breached containment. It looks well-fed, too. This isn’t good. Soon the second trumpet will sound.” she declared, using her sword like a machete to cut back the weedy growths.
With her path cleared, she got to Zi Hua in record time. Despite his crabby attitude, Lupine was never bothered by him. Stress often made people act like this, after all. She smiled at him, “Don’t be scared, Zi Hua, I’ve got you!”
Her arms screamed in protest, but Lupine summoned her remaining strength to haul the boulder off of him. Panting, she reached down to help him up out of the rubble pit. If he couldn’t move on his own, she would even carry him.
Once Zi Hua had been freed, she looked up to see a familiar face peering down at them all. “Hiya Daisy! Oh, what a great idea! I love dumplings. Hydrangea, can we go? Please?”
Lupine multitasked as she begged, helping the others up into the hole instead of letting herself up. The first was Zi Hua. She wasn’t sure if he actually needed help, but she offered it anyway. After that was done, she would help up Calendula. While the others had different injuries, Honey Locust seemed to have the most bothersome. He would likely need more than one person to assist him up.
Then again, he looked really skinny. So skinny, Lupine figured she could lift him with only one arm. He would certainly benefit from a good serving of dumplings! His weight aside, the main issue was T-06-88’s thorns. Lupine had never worked with the abnormality, but she had read the basic protocols in case it ever escaped. Come to think of it, she had never seen it escaped until now. As far as she knew, it had only escaped once.
“Do you need help, Hydrangea?” Lupine asked, walking closer to the two. She peered down at the thorn-covered employee with a smile and wave, her spectacles shining, “Oh, and hello Honey Locust! Your leg looks bad, huh, but don’t worry. We’ll get you to a Main Room! I can hum you a song until we get there! I read in a book once that plants like music!”

"Dammit... Someone... get this rock off me! Hurry! They're... They're... urgh..."
