Dragons <3
Hiya! I'm trying a new pool of talent to find partners for admittedly niche settings. I've not felt the desire to roleplay this strongly in ages, and I'm hoping to take advantage of it while it lasts!
This is my first time using this platform but I can assure you I am no stranger to RPing - you will find more information about me, what I'm looking for in a partner, and the ideas, fandoms, and themes I enjoy below.
You will notice that most if not all of my ideas and plots involve dragons. I suppose it's a guilty pleasure of mine but I do enjoy dreaming of sentient winged fire-breathing lizards.
It looks like the norm is for interested folk to chat via PMs, so that's what I'll be looking for! Thanks for reading

- Important info about me, my interactions with others, my writing, and my preferences.
- I am M/20 and would prefer to RP with adults. However, if you are a minor I expect you to be upfront about your age so I may adjust as necessary to keep things safe - for you and for me.
- I am a full time college student - I only RP in my limited free time and there are a great many things clamoring for my attention. School will be coming first but I try to get at least one reply in per day.
- Romance is not my thing. Never has, never will be. I will go full steam ahead on platonic relationships, fluff, and bonding, but no romance. Nada. Zilch.
- With that said I am LGBTQ+ friendly even if I am not the most well versed in the minutia. If I get anything wrong feel free to correct me!
- I do not have a set reply length requirement either for myself or for my partners, instead living by the golden rule of improv: "Yes, and..." I may manage up to a page for a long reply but expect to see 2-6 short paragraphs depending on what I have to work with.
- Because of how limited my time is, I will be picky about partners. Simply put: if I don't think we mesh well, I will choose to end the RP. It's not your fault, serious, but I just cannot dedicate myself to an RP if I don't see a spark.
- I do enjoy chatting OOC! I'd like to imagine that anyone can just talk to me, especially if we're partnered up, but please don't say 'hi' if there's no follow up.
- Dragons are
- Some quick and dirty umbrella expectations I have for partners. I’m not expecting a perfect fit but I’m afraid that the synergy may not be there if these don’t align.
- Don't be afraid to voice your ideas. RPing is a two way street and it wouldn't be fun without input from my partners! If you take issue with the plot, setting, characters or anything else, I want you to be comfortable saying so. I want you to feel like you have as much say as I do in where the story goes and how it progresses.
- Grammar: I'm not expecting perfect grammar, in fact, I enjoy taking some creative liberties! Writing is ultimately an art after all. All I ask for is that you use punctuation and have some form of organized sentence structure.
- Spelling: I'm personally more strict on spelling errors and while not strictly spelling related, the use of the incorrect homophone is incredibly peeving. I understand that typos make it through proofreading occasionally and I certainly won't crucify you for a misspelling, but it's consistent errors that irk me.
- I'm full-lit and I expect my partner to be the same. No exceptions to this one. Don't need to dig out the thesaurus on every reply but you should really have a good grasp of the language for the experience to be enjoyable for us both.
- Quality over quantity - mentioned this a little in the About Me tab but length does not matter to me. So long as you stick to "Yes, and..." things will be fine, I promise. Some situations simply warrant shorter replies and that's perfectly ok.
- I'm looking for long term partners and I hope you are too! That's why I tend to be pickier at the beginning since if we make it past month one we'll probably be trucking on for a year or more.
- This is a non-exhaustive list of settings and themes I'm comfortable with. A short list of fandoms I enjoy is included at the end and I would like to have RPs that were inspired by them!
- Steampunk - I'm a fan of the mechanical aspect of steampunk societies: airships, steam carriages, clockwork marvels and intricate engineering feats.
- Fantasy - knights and dragons, wizards and witches, you know the drill. Low or high doesn't matter, mood doesn't matter. (Almost) anything goes.
- Modern - just make it interesting, please. I RP to escape my life after all! Whether it's city-living or middle of nowhere, school life or on the job, sky's the limit.
- Certain Historical Eras
- Late Industrial Revolution
- The World Wars
- Post-Apocalyptic - Nuclear winter? World ending plague? Alien/Zombie invasion? Yes, yes, and yes.
- Sci-Fi - Mostly the space aspect of sci-fi. I enjoy writing about starships and space or planetary exploration. Aliens are cool, yo.
- Survival - I'm hungry, cold, and wet, and all I have is this hatchet...
- Adventure/Exploration - Around the World in 80 Days comes to mind. Charting new lands or questing in dangerous territory is right up my alley, too.
- Temeraire/His Majesty's Dragon (Naomi Novik)
- Leviathan (Scott Westerfield)
- Airborn (Kenneth Oppel)
- How to Train Your Dragon (Movie Trilogy)
- Spirited Away
- Maybe: Ender's Game
- Maybe: Interstellar
- Maybe: Sherlock (BBC Series)
- A list of plots I've begun to flesh out and ideas that I'd like to build upon!
Titles and Ideas are in bold, followed by a descriptive blurb. These are all open ideas and thus I'm hoping you'd be willing to worldbuild with me for these plots.
Asterisks (*) indicate my relative desire to play each plot.

Human(s) and Dragon(s)
Mature Themes Expected
Winged beasts secure the skies over Aerie with men on their backs and guns strapped to their flanks. This airborne advantage is all that is holding back the relentless barrage of machinery at the nation’s border, but their numbers are thinning with no end to the war in sight… The dragons and aircrews aren’t going down without a fight, even in a situation as hopeless as this.
Village in the Sky**
The Wandering Village inspired
Note: This was nary a twinkle in my eye many years ago when I came up with the idea and seeing The Wandering Village has gotten me inspired to finally do an RP with a similar premise.
Human(s) and/or Dragon
We call her Ith’ali. Life-giver. We grew up with tales of how our ancestors fled the end of the world on her back, building a settlement for generations to come as the Ancient dragon flew on in search of safe haven. The world has not healed. Not yet. But she is tiring, her age betraying her. We must do what we can to help the one who has given us everything.
New Beginnings*
Fantasy
Human(s) and Dragon
Nobody objected to the demands for tribute that occurred annually after the fall harvest, with most thinking it a small price to pay to keep the dragon from tearing through field and flock. In our darkest hour, with the stones of town square slick with blood, a fearsome roar pierced the heavens as the dragon came to our aid. As he lay downed, bleeding and suffering in the center of town and invading army disposed of, we regret not giving him more.
- Here's a few examples of what you can expect in my replies and a link to a repository of representative samples of my writing.
"Yes... you've made that point abundantly clear, haven't you?" Ku'rahn asked rhetorically, his brows furrowing as he knew the other was up to something. He took a half step back and settled into a defensive stance as the phoenix revealed his wings.
What are you doing? He wondered briefly, then his eyes flicked to the glint of metal in Solaris' hand.
The water spirit reacted fast, but not fast enough. The gun was fired and Ku'rahn watched as the target crumpled. He lunged for the phoenix but remembered that Theodore was still around, ready to help. He appeared by the warlock's side with a strained smile.
"You're a public servant, aren't you? Why don't you stay and help make sure nobody dies. I've got a rogue phoenix to chase down, cheers!" He patted Theo on the shoulder and ran out into the streets, devoid of any passersby in the vicinity, either from the sound of gunshots or from the sight of a supernatural taking flight.
If he had been concerned about shifting in public before, all of that concern had disappeared since the day of anyone seeing him couldn't possibly get weirder and he wasn't going to let Solaris get away that easily. In the blink of an eye, where had stood a robed human now stood a dragon that was rather angry. Ku'rahn leapt into the air, the storm darkening and thundering around him as he chased after his target.Allen blinks.
"Oh," he said, sounding a little disappointed, "you're missing out on a lot of things that taste good." He finishes off his main course and begins to dig into the melon, scooping out chunks of ice cold sweetness and devouring it as fast as he could.
"I... never really thought about that," he finally says, "I've only worn hand-me-downs, but if I had to pick, almost anything neutral would suit me best, I think," he adds. He didn't want to mention how his current attire came out of the garbage. He was certain Spike didn't want to hear it.
"I don't want to pick out anything too pricey, either. Since...y'know, I'm not paying for it," he murmurs. The dragon blinked, uncertain what to do with the information he was given. He reared up to better study the human in front of him and let a low, frustrated growl escape him.
"You're going to be my captain?" He asked, peering down at Theo with a hint of disdain. If he was a firebreather there would be heavy smoke rolling out of his nostrils. "You seem ill-suited for the task," he said bluntly, "but I suppose it will do."
"My previous ...handler called me Levitas. It is traditional to give dragons their names in Latin. If you'd like to give me a new name I will also accept it." While on the surface the Silverfang appeared to have calmed down, he was truly simmering inside. He was reminded of his previous captain - one from the Aerial Corps - who he had for but a few days before the treatises were signed and he was shipped off to Gibraltar to await his chance to be sold off to some lucky fellow in London.
And here was said fellow, some scraggly person who hardly looked like he came from a wealthy family, undoubtedly wishing to become a mercenary captain. The Silverfang balked at the idea of only having a single man on his back in a fight.
I suppose we must become used to such things, together, he thought, looking down at the human with both worry and regret, let us hope we are able to.It was an odd sight - a spindly teen tending to a great golden dragon, but recent events had dictated the sudden switch in roles. Orion sat by Ithali's snout, cupping a large bowl up to her maw as he gently encouraged the dragoness to take the herbal remedy. Strewn about them was once a clean roll of linens, most now bloodsoaked to various degrees while the remainder clung to the iridescent scales of the dragon, covering up the wounds underneath. The sound of footsteps echoed through the dimly lit cave and Orion knew it was his cue to leave. He gently rose, careful not to disturb Ithali, and kept his head low as he passed the village chief and the small group of doctors, healers, and assistants.
It had been four days since the attack and their valiant defense. He counted himself lucky, as did everyone else in their little town. Without the might of a dragon that could burn and slash through the hordes of drones they would've been overrun without much of a fight. His mind flitted to the injuries Ithali had sustained in the fight. While the arrows did little more than cause nuisance to the great dragon, the spears and pikes certainly did a number. She had limped back to her cave, her wings ragged and her golden scales covered in dark draconic blood.
He had to wonder what they were doing wrong. Surely with all the care they were giving her, she ought to be recovering fast, not deteriorating? At first she had done well, most of the surface wounds healing overnight, but over the past few days he could only watch helplessly as she went from slightly inconvenienced to hardly moving at all. It made him want to scream at the heavens at the unfairness of it all. She was losing the fight, but was there anything he could do? After all, if even the clerics and doctors couldn't do anything, how could he help?
