Bud Town + Route 1

Layout
Bud Town is a small town, with not much to see. There are basic accomodations (Pokecenter + mart), an inn called the Brooding Rookidee Inn, a port, and a lab for travelling reasearchers to use, which is often occupied. Researchers like to observe the strange purity of the area and its effect on pokemon.
Bud Town is connected to Route 1, a dead end route. The main way of leaving is by boat to another island.

Plot
You have finished preparing for your search for the Seamint. It's your last night in town, so you're hanging out in the Brooding Rookidee Inn to pass the time. Prepare, say hi to others, the choice of how to spend your last few hours here is yours. The following journey shall be long and arduous.

Vincent Hawthorne

It was about time for Vincent and his Pokémon friend to begin their journey to seek after the Seamint. As the son of a couple of stage actors who hailed from Nimbasa City, the world's second-most populous city in the world (outdone only by Kalos' Lumiose City), Vincent had heard no shortage of stories surrounding it and the untold riches that were said to befall whoever could find it, from any number of visiting tourists. If he were to find the Seamint, he planned on using the money he would get from it to remodel Nimbasa's Pokémon Gym into one for Dark-type Pokémon (once Elesa retires from her current position as Leader, of course). Vincent thought it somewhat unfair that Dark Pokémon seemed to only get recognition as choices of Elite Four members, and Grimsley of his home region of Unova was no exception. It wasn't until Galar came along that Dark-types had a Gym to call their own, and Vincent considered it his goal to further their recognition by establishing a Gym of his own. Plus, he had plenty of fun details in mind when the time came.

Of course, where there is a legendary treasure, there will also be others trying to claim it for their own reasons.

Vincent strolled around the Brooding Rookidee Inn with Ryuji, his Deino, in tow. He wanted to carry them around on his shoulder, but considering how chompy those Pokémon could be, it was probably for the best that Ryuji stayed at his Trainer's side where he could move around without bumping into anything and consequently biting it.

Not to mention, Vincent's hands also had a couple of light scars from when he first met Ryuji and learned that lesson the semi-hard way. He didn't need part of his ear missing.

"What do you think this Region is going to be like, Ryuji? Even if it's going to be a hard, rough journey, we'll get to experience a whole new place. That sounds exciting, right?" Vincent said to Ryuji, looking down at his Pokémon as they looked up. "Deeei!~" Ryuji chirped back in semi-excitement. "Dei-no!"

Olly Limeston​

Olly's face was pale, and he could feel his life energy diminishing. He was fully aware of this, and of the root of the problem, but did nothing about it. Twail was too happy on his shoulder, and he knew he wouldn't die. He had built up a tolerance to these sort of things, naturally, as he was aiming to become a Ghost-type gym leader. And you have to be able to manage phenomena such as this to be an efficient Ghost-type user.

Twail realized what was happening to his trainer, and dimmed its flame, looking concerned. Olly had passed out twice from this before, and Twail was still worried for him. Olly smiled, and said, "Relax, bud! I'm not gonna pass out again!"

Olly's chest heaved, and he decided to recline in a chair. The fire warmed his pores, and relaxed him. He rubbed his thumb against Twail's wax, making the candle pokemon chuckle in a cute way. Olly planned on using the funds from the Seamint to build a Ghost-type gym. And not just any gym, a double battle gym, with a... friend. Olly forced himself to think of other things, resting his head farther back in the chair.
