Multiple Settings Let's make some animatronic horror! (21+ only. Seeking animatronic OC.)

RaccoonGoon

Aw Jeez...
Please note: The 21+ age requirement is not a suggestion and is non-negotiable. I ask that this be respected, regardless of RP content.

Why not, right? Everyone's got a Five Nights at Freddy's-inspired idea nowadays. ¯\(ツ)

I'm actually on semi-hiatus at the moment, but I'm tentatively testing the waters for this massive craving that won't let me go. As such, I might be a tad picky and posts may be slower than average, but still at least one a week.

I'll preface this by saying that the plots I have in mind are very, very loose. I'm looking for someone to brainstorm lore with me, so we can take what we like from the animatronic horror genre and roll it all together into something even cooler. Most of this is because the setting's theme and other characters will heavily rely on what character my partner is playing: The head animatronic mascot! The face of the franchise and likely its namesake too. (Of course, if you prefer to play a 'regular' animatronic, then that works too!)

In short: The main pairing for this is Male/Genderless Animatronic x Male/Female Human, based on my partner's preferences.

Because I’m a filthy FNAF degenerate.

My character will likely be an employee - night staff or perhaps a technician responsible for the animatronics' daily maintenance and repair. They could even be YC's 'caretaker' or 'handler' of sorts, ensuring the animatronic is looked after properly. We could also go for the classic 'night guard' position. It all depends on which direction we take the story.

The gist of what I currently have in mind is…FNAF, but without the kids. Meaning the setting in question isn't a family-friendly restaurant, but instead is an adult-only space. The business might have originally started out as the average 70's-80's playground for a young audience, then eventually went bust and rebranded for a more mature crowd. Rather than get rid of the animatronics, they were brought back as mascots to give a more quirky or nostalgic vibe. Or it's a business started by a very...eccentric team looking to cash in on the animatronic craze.

Quick note: When I say "Adult Only", I'm not referring to any setting outside of site rules. All characters involved will need to be 21+, and this goes for clients/guests, as well. Settings that might work include:
  • Adult-only water park
  • Spa
  • Small hospital/treatment center
  • Extreme amusement park
  • Horror attraction
  • Etc…

I just think it's an interesting change in the current formula. In this story, children aren't being lured away from their parents and stuffed into animatronics. A human serial killer isn't behind the disappearance of several adults - but an animatronic certainly is. At least, that's the theory. YC is blamed for the wave of fear that's caused the business to either consider shutting down, or has forced the place to close. Whether or not YC is responsible, partially responsible, or completely innocent, MC isn't about to run off like the guests and employees. Even if they wanted to, management won't let them. Lately, I've been into the 'friendly ball of sunshine x grumpy asshole' relationship dynamic. Maybe YC is genuinely a friendly character, but has been accused of some heinous acts...Just an idea, though!

Orrr...

We can throw the horror aspect (mostly) out the window and go with something else! Something a little more home-based, perhaps YC is a new guest in MC's home for whatever reason. For real, gimmie your ideas!

YC's build and species is entirely up to you! My only thoughts are:

  • Anthros, creatures, or semi-humanoid designs are what I'm hoping for. Realistic human robots are…sorta boring. If you want to take some inspiration from FNAF, Walten Files, or another project then I'm all for it!
  • Fully sentient animatronics are far superior to 'haunted' animatronics. The personality is better if it's 100% the animatronic behind it, in my opinion.
  • We don't need to stick to the same physical limitations of actual, modern tech. If a fanfic writer doesn't have to, neither do we!
  • As said at the top of the post, a male or genderless animatronic would work better with my character - who can also be tailored to what my partner likes to write against.

Before we wrap this up, here’s some info about me:

  • I am 21+. My partner needs to be the same. No exceptions. I'm dangerously close to 30, so the older a writing partner is the more comfortable I feel.
  • I post at a...casual level? Mid-advanced? I don't know, I just try to match what I'm given. I can get carried away when I have inspiration, so my posts might be randomly really long at times compared to the usual length. 2-3 paragraph average.
  • Post times will vary. I'm in the US and work the average office job, so I'll be lurking around throughout the day (Pacific time zone...I think?), but IC posts tend to be saved for really slow days or after work/weekends. One post a week is my minimum - with a heads up if I may take longer than usual.
  • Doubling isn't my thing. If a partner isn't into playing a certain character for their own interest, then we just aren't compatible.
  • My writing is littered with mature concepts, within site rules. If that makes a potential partner uncomfortable, then I may not be the right person to write with. That said, please let me know of any concerns and I will adjust! Violence, swearing, and mentions of drugs is what we're talking about. Plots could include psychological torture, possible self-harm, and heavy emotional trauma.
  • Romance not required! Found family is the best trope ever.
  • I'm pretty ghost-friendly. Life happens, things don't last forever. Pop back in whenever you feel like and we'll get something going again!
  • I fully expect proper grammar. I want to write with someone who loves writing and shows it. This includes reasonable post length (not one-liners).
  • Writing samples available! I might ask for one in return.
  • PM is my top preference. But I'm down for whatever my partner prefers.

And...I think that's it! Feel free to PM me, and thank you for reading! c:
