Thanks, answers below.Feantari said:Some questions to think about for Zyers:
Ferem. I'm thinking for a full name Ferem Anulus Zyers, which he would insist on to avoid unnecessary political quarrels in mixed company. What house is Zyers from?
From Cherak proper. Is he from the isle or from Cherak?
Zyers follows the customs of Cherak, but is a follower of the Immaculate Philosophy insofar as most legionaries of the Realm are, not monklike. Zyers, were he on the Council (of which he knows nothing), would argue more for suing the Realm for more equal status than the more drastic measures on the table. He'd like to see ten thousand dragons fight as one - a Realm of twelve great houses, Ferem among the them. So a bit of both. He has great respect for the Realm and doesn't want to see it abolished. He thinks it is the center of culture and polite company, as well as great scholars and military might. Zyers simply wouldn't mind House Ferem having a more active hand at the stern of that great society. He doesn't go so far as to call himself Ferem Zyers, however, since he understands his opinion on the matter is unlikely to turn the tide of public opinion. As a sorcerer, he bears a social stigma that keeps him out of politics, which suits him just fine.If he is from Cherak does his motivation refer to the Realm's version of DB society or Cherak's?
No, neither Zyers nor his feeble Cherak bloodline has the clout to attend the House of Bells. He trained to be part of Cherak's armed forces, most of which are naval. I haven't thought of a name of the academy, only that it's Cherak's most prominent one (not saying much compared to the Realm, but should be much stronger in Shogunate traditions than anywhere else in the Threshold outside of Lookshy. That would include the thousand correct actions of the upright soldier.)I'm guessing you mean that he was sent to Realm academies? (if he is from one of the great houses this is no big, but be aware that if he is from House Ferem this likely means that either 1) his family paid a big chunk of money and some political favors to get him educated there or 2) he was recruited into a great house and effectively adopted out of House Ferem)
Being an air aspect interested in the Occult he self-initiated. I have yet to decide if it's from a stray copy of the white treatise or if he'd been the beneficiary of the Selenian working. I like to think about Sorcery as the Exalted version of hacking reality. So after some Thaumaturgy reached it's limits he asked for - and received! - more by completing the trials. If he went to a military academy where did he learn sorcery? (multiple schools is totally fine, but maybe he learned somewhere else? or back home or some such)
He's part of Cherak's forces.and last but not least.. Is he part of the Realm forces in Cherak or is he part of Cherak's forces?
Not the strict sense. Zyers does have more experience and expertise with demons than other spirits, but he's been called on special assignment for other spirits in the line of duty as his best guess is more educated than most. Zyers is one of the few in Cherak that can really understand the differences between demons, undead, fair folk and darkbrood (lacking a Heptogram analogue to collate that knowledge, as they do). My understanding is that Cherak, between the Realm's occupying legion and the Cherak's navy, haven't been invaded by hostile spirits in centuries. The knowledge atrophies, but Zyers has taken an active interest in all things Occult, and that expertise is known to his superior officers.Demon hunting is cool, but I want to check do you mean that in the strict sense of the word or a perhaps broader sense? Cherak has a number of less than alive neighbors out there for example.
