Name:
Jakev Aldric
Age: 33
Look: Well-built n with a professional soldier's posture. Dangerous eyes with a certain warmth behind them. Cropped hair and clean-shaven. Half-burnt face. His armor is customized Imperial Commando armor with black plating and helmet, an augmented quick-draw holster for his blaster pistol, and mix set of storage pouches.

Personality: Jakev is a mixture of cold-hearted killer built by the Empire machine and a social wise-ass who can sometimes get himself into trouble. He often looks for the humor in a situaitaon to aleaviate stress and uses his thick sarcasm as a defense-mechanism. This can make it hard for Jakev to get close to anyone and subconsciously he keeps it that way. Like most in the Empire, he has lost a lot—more than he’s willing to talk about. He keeps his personal feelings and thoughts guarded and locked away, like a dark prize for someone who manages to penetrate his armor.
Rank: Staff Sergeant
Military Occupation: Forward Operations Observer
Weapons & Armor: Customized Imperial Commando armor, modified E-11e blast cannon, SE-14r blaster pistol, thermal charges, thermal grenades, smoke grenades, proximity charges.
Skills: CQC, passing marksmanship, navigation, demolitions, extreme condition survival
Other Gear / Items: He keeps his brother's rebellion pendant as a reminder just how persuasive the rebel scum can be.
Background: Jakev grew up with his brother, Allin, on the streets of a metropolis planet in the outer rim. Both orphans scraping by homeless, Jakev and his brother chose polar opposite paths when they came of age. They split as brothers and returned to each other on the battlefield enemies. On his last Op before his current assignment, Jakev nearly got the entire team killed when he hesitated gunning down his rebel brother.

Name: Talia (true name: Natalie)

Age: 28

Rank
Officially:
Captain in the Imperial Army.
Unofficially: Imperial Intelligence, Operations Bureau, Assassination division, Major.

Military Occupation: Sniper, Anti-Material

Weapons:
1x 'Exitus' Experimental Gauss Anti-Material Rifle (primary)
Nearly a meter and a half long when fully extended and too heavy and unwieldy for effective close combat without assisted power armor, the Exitus-class gauss rifle can propel a charged mass at nearly 10 km/s, effortlessly punching through most body armor and personal shields. As an anti-material weapon it is also capable of defeating light and medium vehicle armor with ease, though its effectiveness against heavy armor and light starship plating depends heavily on battlefield conditions, angles, armor composition, and other factors.

1x SE-14r Light Repeating Blaster (sidearm)
A standard Imperial sidearm with no particularly exceptional characteristics. Talia is trained in its use and remains an excellent shot but it pales in comparison to a normal blast rifle much less her primary weapon.

3x C-25 fragmentation grenades
Simple and stock - it's hard to improve on perfection, as she has been known to joke... very rarely. The violent Detonite detonation is mostly useful as a last ditch resort when closed on, though they can be used as weaker makeshift breaching charges.

1x Cortosis-weave combat knife
Mostly used for utility. Talia is reasonably trained in unarmed and melee combat but hasn't had much opportunity to practice for real.

Armor:
MKIV 'Huntress' powered armor
Designed less for protection than for specialization, the Huntress suit offers the protection of medium battle armor at best, but is much easier to move in than normal stormtrooper armor and acts to augment the user's arm and leg strength, aiding in navigation for an operative on the move. In addition to several cybernetic augmentations Talia received years ago, however, and the retractable rangefinder/camera mounted on her shoulder, it aids in sighting especially difficult shots through negative conditions - she may not have magic powers, but the Huntress cheats a little nonetheless.

Skills:
-Talia is one of the Empire's premiere sniper aces, with a lifetime of experience in extreme-range shooting and close to a decade of experience using everything from D-15x and E-11s sniper rifles to a series of experimental anti-personnel and anti-material weaponry.

-While not officially a frontline combatant she is proficient in the use of E-11 blaster rifle/carbines, DLT-19 heavy blaster rifles, DLT-20A laser rifles, and other common infantry weapons.

-Since being recruited by Imperial Intelligence she has gone through a varied crash course of advanced training in infiltration, demolitions, and CQC, though the nature of her work does mean that much of this is untested on the field.

-Excellent reflexes and a quick mind are major strengths as well, honed to a razor's edge.

Gear: She keeps a fang from one of her homeworld's predators in a touch - a reminder of an episode in which she panicked and very nearly died for it - and a reminder that even the worst situations can be turned around. She lived. It did not.

Background: A farmgirl from a backwater planet in the middle of fuckoff nowhere who grew up shooting for fun. Joined the Imperial Army in a fit of nationalistic fervor and ended up a pinup girl for propaganda posters, though her excellent aim also qualified her for sniper duty - safe enough for a golden goose. As her patriotism waned in the wake of what she had seen and done, Natalie, now "Talia," performs her duties with muted efficiency while privately wondering if the killing will ever end.

Personality: As a teenager, she was always inspired by the sleek and dangerous aesthetic of the empire - a dead-end human on a dead-end planet, easily roused to adulation and gripped by patriotism for something she didn't quite understand. Spending the next twelve years serving the empire in mind and body has leveled her enthusiasm quite a bit, forcing her to accept some of the blood-stained underbelly of the beast and quelling her idealistic take on life significantly. But there are still roots of who she was, and perhaps under the crusted layers of unhappy experience, might still be.

-Though one could be forgiven for not noticing. As she made the transition from idealistic farmgirl to ruthless sniper to disillusioned Imperial agent, much of her more overt personality and her exceptionally stubborn and outspoken nature have been beaten or bruised into submission, by her handlers or by herself, and the Talia of today is typically more soft spoken, almost repressed, though her "strong will" (read: stubborn as a mule and twice as ornery) does still exist and can flare up at inopportune times. For the most part though, she attempts to channel it into focus and discipline with somewhat varied results.

'Peace' and 'justice' are two words the young Natalie believed in quite strongly, but her experience has left her uncertain of how to apply them in larger scale situations - certainly not everything the Empire has done is justice incarnate - but is it worth the greater tragedy of another war or the collapse of order? Is killing one dissident a worthy trade for the prosperity of a thousand others across the galaxy? The conclusion she reached was yes - at least she tells herself that, holds to it desperately as the emerald hand of death reaches out to cave skulls and disintegrate chests - that the Empire was not perfect, that there was room for less cruelty - but that in the end it took strength and sacrifice to keep the galaxy peaceful. That if she was to even pretend to believe in such fanciful, pretty-sounding words as peace and justice and happiness, she had to accept the ugly realities of them. That both terrorists and she herself would be called on to make that sacrifice, and that rather than bemoan it or run from it she could only stand strong, as a daughter of the Empire should, and face it directly.

Despite her occasional doubts as to the methods, though, Natalie's dedication is genuine and in turning her own stubborn idealism towards her imperfect ideals she finds the strength to hew to them; her loyalty to the Empire is real and while she hasn't quite hidden her flaws as well as she thinks from every prying eye lurking in the shadows, so far her take has held her well even after the good will and golden days of her early days as a pinup girl ended.

Speaking of which, the sniper is more than a little embarrassed by and not especially happy to discuss her, ah, entry to the empire - a fact made harder by the occasional discovery of old posters of a younger her still plastered in various places in the galaxy... and occasionally in Imperial dorms. She does her best to ignore it and pretend it never happened but does not do a very good job of it.
