Fandom Legend of Zelda: The Old Ways

Flame Demon

Autistic Ace Vampire
Roleplay Type(s)
The hero succeeded, Ganon is sealed away forever, or so everyone thinks. Now on top of being in the modern age Hyrule, where things that were once normal are seen as weird, there is no Link or Zelda in sight. Ganon returns and takes over the kingdom of Hyrule, ruling it as a dictator, bringing back the old ways.

A group of people(humans, Hyrulians or Garudo), not quite normal, not quite weird, find some ruins after wandering through the Lost Woods, inside that ruin are several items once used by past heroes, the Deku tree tells them that they need to use those items to save their world from Ganon, though they need to learn how to use the items effectively, to do that they need to travel to the past.

After deciding to go to the Lost Woods, since there was no way to get back to the city or anywhere else, Rosalyn is standing at the entrance, weapons ready just in case and she looks back at the inn, they'd take care of the horses for no fee, it was a stable once after all. She looks back ahead and takes a deep breath, she would admit, it wasn't one of her finer ideas, but it was all she could think off "Everyone ready?" she asks.

Nessa looks at her pet Eagle who gives her a nod "Ready as I'll ever be." she mumbles, she has her mechanical bow ready and she has a limited amount of arrows, but it would have to do "By the way... do you think the goddess is the reason why none of the animals want to leave or are essentially forcing us to stay here?" she asks, it seemed logical, given what they knew about the situation in Castle Town.

Aruna frowns at that suggestion, the girl had quite frankly crash landed through the door to protect her Eagle from hitting the ground, how she had stayed in the air he hadn't bothered paying attention to, since she was injured "I mean, that could be it, but if a Garudo male is born once every 100 years then you'd think they'd have sealed Ganon away for good, hell I wanna see his face when he sees me.", there wasn't any record of garudo males until after they sealed the guy away for good.

Wulf shrugged, Shadow by his side impatiently waiting to continue forward. "Ready as I'll ever be."
Being blind, Wulf's grip tightened on his staff. No telling what they might encounter.

Sarah sighed, her hand on her hawk whistle while spying Nessa's eagle. "Wish I had something to defend myself with. Otherwise, I agree with Wulf."

Holding her harpoon like a rifle, Hanah glanced around just past the entrance of the Lost Woods. "Hopefully it doesn't take too long to navigate, but I'm not holding my breath."

Everyone knew the stories about the Lost Woods, how they were near impossible to navigate because most of not everyone that entered some always found themselves back at the entrance.

Rosalyn unhooks one of her blades before holding it out to Sarah "Do need that back." she says, stories of how no one ever made it to the center of the lost woods were common in Hyrule, she had never tried it, but they had no choice, they couldn't look over it for directions, she tried to see if she climb a tree.

Nessa looks up and takes something from her bag, attaching the mechanical wings to the back of her outfit and she whistles, causing Star to fly up before she follows him up, once above the tree line she frowns, great, more mist on top of it, when she lands she has the wings fold in into it looks like a shield on her back "There's mist all over the forest." she tells the group, her eagle coming back to land on her shoulder.

Aruna sighs as he steps towards the entrance and he takes on look at Carrot, who's looking towards it "Maybe the animals can guide us like they guided us here." he mumbles before walking in, he was the strongest of the group, also the biggest due to his Garudo heritage, so he could protect them if something evil lurked there.

Sarah hesitantly accepted the blade. It was a good deal heavier than the smaller knives she was used to handling, and thicker. "I'll make sure not to lose it."

"Geez girl! Maybe give a little heads-up before showing off like that next time?" Hanah had jumped when Nessa took flight, not expecting the girl to pull out a set of working wings. Who would?

Wulf nodded at Aruna's words. "Sounds like a plan. Shadow."
The huge canine made his way to the front with Aruna and Carrot, crouching low for the rabbit to climb on.

Rosalyn watches as Carrot jumps on Shadow and she sighs before following Aruna "Nessa did have a stall with small inventions at the school festival, but those wings are awesome." she says with a small smile, she'd ask why anyone would make working wings in the first place later, once they get through the forest.

"I am, or was maybe, in the invention course, which honestly didn't have much other students." Nessa explains as she pulls out her phone "I can try to map the forest, if our phones work in there.".

Aruna carefully enters the forest, the first area didn't have much mist in it, but further ahead it did "My phone gives off static noises, I don't think we can map this place." he says with a frown "Besides, we can't charge them when the batteries are dead, so we shouldn't use them too much."

Wulf inhaled through his nose, taking in the scent of his surroundings as they moved forward. The only thing that seemed foreign to this place was the group of them walking through. With Carrot on his back, Shadow stood up and carried on, following something that only he and Carrot could see.

"Huh, that explains it I guess." Hanah walked beside Nessa. "I actually prefer the water myself. Probably because I'm part Zora."

"I'm not certain I want to try calling any hawks in here." Sarah kept her eyes on their surroundings, noting how thick the mist was getting. "Hey, anyone else think we should each be holding a section of rope so we don't get separated?"

"I think, if the stories are to be believed, we should be able to see each other if we walk the correct path, otherwise we get surrounded by mist and end up back at the entrance." Rosa explains and she adds "Though some fire would be handy to have right about now.".

Nessa tilts her head "Huh... explains the sharp teeth, apparently wanting to fly is not something most Rito descendants want, turns out I come from a line of a knight and of the Rito chief." she says and scratches Star on her head "Had to replace her leg with a mechanical one too, it was too damaged when I found her. She can just go and fly free whenever she wants, but she doesn't."

Aruna, walking in front of the group with Shadow and Carrot suddenly stops "Someone light a torch or something, I've heard that at one point you could navigate by following music, but it's dead silence. Another tale is that we have to follow the wind." he explains.

"What a coincidence. I'm actually descended from the Zora Royal Family myself." Hanah explained. "Nice work on that leg there, I almost didn't realize it wasn't real."

"Hmmm, yeah I'm not hearing anything either. Let alone feeling any wind." Wulf tapped the ground with his staff. "You think any music would just echo in here?"

Sarah shrugged her shoulders. "It's worth a try. What do you guys think?"

After finally getting through the woods with the help of torches, and getting lost a few times, the mist clears up as the group arrives at an old building, guarded by a massive tree which appears to have eyes, inside the building are pedestals with items, in the middle of the items is a sword, the Master Sword, in its resting place.

Rosalyn looks in awe as she pushes past Aruna and enters the old building "These items are all items once used to fight Ganon one way or another." she says and she pulls out her book, but before she can open it she hears someone laughing, so she looks up towards the sound.

Aruna walks after Rosalyn and he raises an eyebrow at the items, they seemed to be well preserved despite their ages "Is that..." he trials of hearing someone laugh, presumably at Rosalyn's excitement about what they found and he looks at the tree, which seems to be watching them.

Nessa takes a deep breath, glad to be out of that mist, though the items make her curious what draws her attention is the fact that is must've looked like a village at one point "How are these things in such a good condition when the building itself is in ruins.

The Deku tree watches the group "Welcome to the Lost Woods, I assume you're here to look for ways to find Ganondorf." he says, the sword seeming to shine bright in the light from the sun that somehow made itself through the mist "Each one of you will be granted one item, afterwards you will have to learn how to use them from where they are from. However, only one of you can draw the Master Sword, do not approach it is you do not feel drawn to it."
