Hello RP NOOBS (and others). Welcome to the Kingdom Hearts RP that I promised who knows back when. As half of the players are new to roleplaying (not because I forced you all into this), I will be guiding you very directly through the storyline. Character sheets are direct and short, coding will be taught through VC, etc. This RP is kind of for you guys to get a feel for writing (and for me to be an unleashed control freak). It's gonna be like a story-driven combat roleplay, kind of like those interactive narrative games like The Last of Us. In this narrative, we'll be playing as members of the Organization, a group of Nobodies on a quest to reclaim their lost hearts. Since they're Nobodies, their memories are a bit splotchy, and they're feeling incomplete without their hearts. They're following the orders of this mentor figure called The Elder, who may or may not have their best interests at heart (pun intended).

As this tale is user driven, it's not linear battles and storylines - there will be riddles to solve for advantages against future enemies, dice-rolling in boss battles, and choices to make during the story. There are right answers, wrong turns, and everything in between. How this story ends is up to you.

Organization IX, initially established by The Elder, was purportedly formed to restore harmony to the world. Embracing the principle that where there is light, there must also be darkness, the organization believed both elements were indispensable for the world's equilibrium. According to The Elder's teachings, the world had fallen into shadow, overrun by heartless creatures across various realms. Thus, their mission was clear: to combat the heartless and gather the hearts they left behind. The Elder's instructions were to collect these hearts to unlock Kingdom Hearts—the domain where their own hearts resided. Fueled by a sense of justice and fervor, the members of Organization IX dutifully followed The Elder's orders, striving to restore peace to the world. Little do the members know that their future path is fraught with betrayal, hardship, and a relentless struggle for survival, all in the pursuit of restoring peace to their universe and reclaiming their lost hearts.

Heartless
Twisted, living manifestations born from the darkness within the hearts of man, the Heartless are a blight on this world. These creatures, mindless & primal, aim to return to the Realm of Darkness & the heart that resides within. These monsters seek only the depths of darkness, found mostly at night or in worlds consumed by mania. A return to the greatest heart, the heart of the all worlds, is their only motivation. These creatures, mindless & unthinking, will stop at nothing for the sake of this desire.

Distinguished by origin, there are two known types of heartless:

Emblem
For the purposes of the organization, these types of Heartless are the only that matter. To defeat them is to release the dark heart that birthed them back to Kingdom Hearts. At the moment, it’s unclear how they are created; if the organization knew, surely they’d create more for the sake of their goals. Think of them like bosses.

Pureblood
Natural-born Heartless, created when man inevitably succumbs to the darkness. Their form tends to scale with how much darkness was in a person’s heart at the time of their creation; massive Heartless made only from the cruelest of intentions. In facing demise, they evaporate into a cloud of darkness & leave behind no trace. While other types exist, the most common form of Pureblood Heartless come in the shape of Shadows: pitch black & insectoid. Think of them like grunts.

Nobody
When a heart is swallowed by darkness, a Nobody is what remains. These beings exist without hearts — empty husks. Their form is determined by a person’s will, the most humanoid having the strongest. Lesser forms are commanded by the members of Organization IX.

Keyblade War
In a legendary power struggle between the opposing forces of light & darkness, the key to that era’s incarnation of Kingdom Hearts shattered into two pieces: one key piece of light & another of darkness.

Kingdom Hearts
The ultimate source of all power; a locked away kingdom of light that is sealed away after the original x-blade was destroyed.

1. GENERAL CONDUCT
   i. Civil discussion
   Keep all OOC communications, public or private, courteous & polite. Banter & discussion is encouraged but never at the cost of civility.
   ii. Zero harassment
   Discrimination & harassment on the basis of race, religion, sex, or identity will result in immediate termination.
   iii. No explicit or graphic content
   In accordance with RPN rules, please do not write or post sexually explicit, violent, or graphic content. This RP is dark in nature, but there is a fine line of going overboard.
   This includes excessive blood, horror, injuries, or anything else that might disturb fellow writers. If you're ever unsure, mark the content as a spoiler.
   
   
2. WRITING SPECIFIC
   iv. No meta-gaming
   Please be aware of what your character does & does not have knowledge of. Any in-character thought or action that seems influenced by OOC discussion may result in you being asked to tweak your post.If you're ever unsure, ask your peers & we'll be able to help you out!
   v. Commitment
   You'll be expected to reply once a week. Replies should be around 300 words at minimum. Give your fellow writers enough material to reply to & advance the scene. At the same time, don't feel pressured to match length.
   vi. No god-modding
   Do not act for another character without their writer's permission. Even the smallest actions, like implying a tea cup was passed, may be uncharacteristic for the character you're writing with. In general, please avoid it by using if/conditional statements or confirm with your partner(s) that it's alright.

  Dormitories provide lodging for each member of the organization, offering a semblance of comfort amidst their demanding missions. The main meeting room serves as a hub of discussion and strategy, where plans are forged and decisions made. Meanwhile, the regal throne room stands as a symbol of authority and governance, a testament to the organization's sovereignty.
  
  Deep within the castle lies the research lab, where members are free to delve into mysteries both arcane and profound. Here, the boundaries of knowledge are pushed and new discoveries are made.
  
  Outside the castle walls sprawls a verdant expanse known as the court garden, its lush greenery and vibrant blooms lending the world its name. Within this sanctuary of nature lies a maze, a playful challenge for those who dare to navigate its twists and turns. At the heart of the garden lies the Fountain Court, a serene oasis of tranquility where the soothing sound of flowing water echoes through the air.
  
  Beyond the castle and gardens lies a quaint town, home to the ordinary citizens whose lives are safeguarded by the organization. Amidst the bustling streets, one can find a variety of shops catering to the needs of the townsfolk, from merchants peddling wares to skilled artisans crafting weaponry.

  Daybreak Town
  A bustling world renowned for its vibrant merchant activity and serene coastal beauty. Nestled amidst its lively streets and bustling shops, the town exudes an atmosphere of peace and prosperity.
  
  At the heart of Daybreak Town lies the Fountain Square, a spacious plaza adorned with a majestic fountain that serves as a beloved gathering spot for the townspeople. Surrounding the square is the bustling Market, a hub of commerce where merchants peddle their wares to eager shoppers.
  
  Adjacent to the Fountain Square stands the Moogle Shop, a quaint establishment consisting of multiple levels including an attic that offers access to the rooftop. Here, visitors can find a variety of goods and services provided by the friendly moogles.
  
  Venturing westward into the Central Market Place, one can explore further into the town's bustling streets. The Warehouse awaits those seeking storage or logistical services, while the northern Avenue offers a path to the scenic Boardwalk and Waterfront Park.
  
  Waterfront Park, with its iconic lighthouse overlooking the horizon, provides a serene escape for those seeking solace amidst the coastal beauty. Visitors can explore the park's upper level, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding seascape, or descend to the lower level, where the Waterfront Park: Post Office awaits.
  
  From the Waterfront Park: Dock, travelers can embark on a scenic boat ride along the western shore, leading southeastward to the picturesque Beach. Here, the golden sands stretch far into the distance, offering a tranquil retreat for sunbathers and beachcombers alike.
  
  Across the waters lies the Shipwreck Shore, a rugged coastline dotted with remnants of ancient vessels and hidden dangers. At its heart lies a foreboding Corridor of Darkness, a mysterious gateway to realms unknown.
