Dame of the Moon's Darkness
They say humans have a way of ruining great things, perhaps they are correct. They also say those afraid of the end panic the worst, that to would be true. With these two statements alone it stands to reason humanity brought about the end of the world while trying to save it.
How very, very ironic it was for them to hope collecting people and doing horrendous experiments on them would save even a sliver of humanity. Yet here we stand, in the new world, we made it this far so maybe we can survive. Maybe not everything will have been lost and the few of us alive can rebuild this world into something even greater than the previous one!
Dandy thoughts of course, but perhaps we should just focus on surviving....maybe that would be a good start.

Lena was up, pulling a bottle from her bag and opening the cap as she stared up at the skies. The wind had picked up and it held the faint chill of winter having just passed. She glanced at the girl still sleeping, wondering if their travels would go smoothly. They had been resting in the spot for almost a week now, but losing your entire family after having been apart for so long would weigh heavily on anyone. She took the last sip of water from her bottle before setting it down, waiting for the rain to hit and fill it up. She had a few other bottles, the ones that had belonged to Autumn's parents. They were opened to be filled with rainwater, even though they weren't fully empty. She started the fire up and began cooking one of the rabbit-like creatures she had found a day ago. Soon they would need to move on from this spot, it was too open for Lena's liking. She was just being patient and letting the girl get used to her before they moved on. She was glad to have found a small creature that was helpful in finding food and letting Autumn not be so scared of her. She stared at the pair, Jade resting around Autumn's head like a warming pillow. It was cute, but Lena didn't have time for cute. She wondered if the girl would be of help or get in her way.

There was a beeping noise that filled Caleb's mind, a steady beep that seemed to grow louder and louder until he opened his eyes. The dim lights that hovered over him seemed almost blinding and he closed his eyes once more. It only took him a few seconds to collect his thoughts and he opened them pressing a hand to the clear glass door holding him in the pod. He slowly sat up as it slid open and took in the sight and sounds around him. Caleb saw the other four pods and moved to stand only to find his legs felt weak. "Of course..." His throat was dry and he glanced over when he felt something tap his leg. It was the container that held his bag with all his weapons and a simple jacket and a change of clothes. He smirked, "Glad that made it...I wonder..." He tried moving once more and found his strength slowly coming back to him. He kneeled down next to the container and pressed a hand to it. It opened and he grabbed his stuff, slinging the bag over his shoulder before heading for the pod closest to him, "Blaire?" He looked in seeing a man, "Damnit..." He moved to the next, it was a girl with pink hair. He did the same looking at those resting in the pods, each one being a disappointment. The frost around the pod doors was quickly fading, which had to mean they would be waking up soon. It barely mattered to him though, none of them was his little half-sister, now he wasn't sure if she was alive, but he was praying she was...

Milly rested in her pod, a strong and steady beep filling her mind, "Shut the alarm off...." She muttered her hand moving to smack around for the alarm. She shivered slightly, "Don't take my covers, Mckenzie..." She grumbled, rolling over slightly in the pod, hoping to find warmth, but it didn't greet her. The beeping grew louder and she reached out once more, "For crying out loud shut the alarm off please...it's closer to you..." She muttered her hand hitting the lid of the pod, and it opened. As soon as the pod door slid open her eyes snapped open feeling the buzz of energy around her, "The hell?" She glanced around the beeping of her pod increasing with her heart rate. It took her a few minutes to process everything and she smiled, "WE SURVIVED!!!!!" She screamed excitedly, glancing around to see if the others in her group were awake yet. She wondered exactly who they were and what they were like, but more than anything she had to make sure her sister was with them.

Ariel had the same dream, over and over. Her parents selling her, her escaping and taking away everything they held dear. It was such a bittersweet dream, but it was on an endless cycle that had started driving her insane. Why was it she just kept having the same dream, when they had locked her up and she asked about the cryo sleep they had told her she might dream. But not once had they mentioned it would be the same one every single time. Here it was once again, at this point she felt like she was watching someone else's sad story. She stood off to the side listening to her parents fight about money and then an ad crossed the tv, "With the threat of the world coming to an end we would like to invite you to come be a part of something bigger! We are testing people to become part of the End World Project! You must be at least 16 and no older than 30 to join in these tests and find out if you have the potential to be part of the last remaining humans of the world. If you are worried about money or your family, we will provide you with a decent sum of money to cover living costs. Call now to set up an appointment!" She watched herself flinch against the wall she stood behind as her parents stopped fighting and began to laugh. Then the scene changed, "Mrs. and Mr. Lukes your daughter qualifies, are you sure you want her to be part of the project?" Her mother was in tears and her father nodded, a few tears slid down his face, "If it means our daughter will be able to live on even if we can't then....yes..." Her father's voice sounded torn and her mother rushed to Ariel pulling her into a hug. For one moment she had thought, maybe her parents really did love her... But her thoughts were vanquished when her mother's grip grew tighter and she whispered into her ear. "Glad to finally be rid of you...do you have any idea how much money they gave us!" There was a faint giggle in her mother's voice, "It seems the less chance you have of living the more they give!! Have fun dying!!!" A man came over, "It's time to say goodbye..." Her mother brought on the waterworks again, "Oh my sweet baby girl...I don't...I don't want to leave you like this but if the worlds ending its for the best. I hope you won't hold it against us, we only want what's best for you...." She watched her parents leave and then something changed, there was a strange darkness that swept in and a beeping noise. "What's going on now..." She whispered looking around the darkness unlike she felt something cool touch her hand and then she was awake. Panting as new air filled her lungs and her eyes opened to the ceiling she had fallen asleep to many years ago. What shocked her most was the fact that nothing about her seemed to have changed. Her hair was still the same length, her face felt the same, unaffected by time. She thought when she woke up they would have ended up being old grandpas and grandmas. She glanced around to see if anyone else was awake from their cold sleep.

Gavin was up, staring at the ceiling from inside his pod. He had yet to press his hand to the glass door and open it. It was just crazy, if he stepped foot out of the pod would the world be the same? If that were the case what would he do to explain his strange abilities to the world? To all his fans if they even still cared about him. He closed his eyes for a second, the thoughts were pointless within the pod. He pressed a hand to the glass and it slid up behind him allowing him to sit up. What was the world like now if it had ended? Would they be able to survive? He had many worries and questions, but none of it would do if they starved to death. His stomach growled at the thought of food and he smiled, "Either way, let's do what we do best!!!" He threw his legs over the sides of the pod and stood, "Food, they will surely want food...and if we are the only people alive, no one will starve on my watch!!!" He said with a grin, before moving to the container by the side of his pod. He pulled out his weapons, holstering the gun and strapping the knife to his side. Humming he opened the bag, glad to find the seasonings he had placed there were still sealed and good. "These little containers are badass, I wish we could take them with us...be great for saving meats." He glanced behind him seeing a large table in the center of the room, "That looks useful..." He moved over looking at it. There were files on the table about the lab and the supplies in the lab, it even mentioned something about a supply chest hidden in the lab. "Why make it hidden? There is no way we would want to play hide and seek..." He sighed, "Well, no sense in making it out to be a big issue, let's see if we can find it." He looked under the table for a strange compartment and found nothing. Glancing around he noticed two doors, one looked thicker and vault-like so he headed for the smaller one. Pulling on the handle lines seem to spread from the handle throw the entire door and then it opened, leading him to another part of the lab he remembered walking through at one time. He glanced along the walls and noticed a slight difference from one section, walking up he touched it and it moved. "Bingo!" He pressed it in and there was a faint clicking sound before the wall moved and a large chest appeared. He pressed a button on the front of the silver container and the lid opened up, cool air spoofing from it. Everything had been sealed just like they had in the cryo pods. "A decent amount of canned good, some water, and oh...there is some meats! Sweet....how are we going to keep it fresh though..." He said with a small frown pulling back from the container and looking at it. It would be too big to carry with them unless someone in their group had super strength and it wouldn't slow them down. Then again he wasn't even sure if the container would seal up how it had before. For all he knew it was a one time seal, and once broken forever broken.

Despite the many times' humans had betrayed him, he couldn't help but feel bad for others who had it worse than him. His ears pressed against his head, "Once they are on their feet I could leave..." That wasn't too bad of an idea, they could live without him there once they got used to the world if it had truly ended and changed. It hadn't then he didn't need to care for the people and taking a wolf form was his best option. But if the world hadn't ended...who they let him go? Or would they bring him in for more experiments? The thought pissed him off, if they dared to try and lay their hands on him again he would rip their throats out with his fangs!!!
