cambienne
affection, always.
GIVEN NAME: Lee Dae-Seon (prefers Saja).
NICKNAME(S): 사자 (Saja).
GENDER: Male.
AGE: 20.
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual.
APPEARANCE: Saja stands at around 5'11" and he is of thin build. Besides the visible tattoos on his arms, Saja has a large unfinished Foo Dog portrait as a backpiece, hence his nickname. His sense of style is actually very lazy, and he never really appears anywhere in no more than a plain t-shirt and loose sweatpants. He is always careful to remain well-groomed and, well, not smell.
PERSONALITY: Saja is generally very friendly when approached with good intentions, though he is never one to introduce himself or spark up a conversation. It isn't due to shyness or awkwardness, but bad experience. Lots of people take one look at him and automatically think he's a kkangpae and they aren't actually far off if they're judging him based on his family name. Very calm and collected and not prone to energy sparks or mood swings- Saja is actually very predictable if you know him. He will remain an unknown quantity if you expect him to or don't express any genuine interest in getting to know him as a person rather than judging him by his appearance.
That being said, there are a couple small quirks he has that unintentionally give him character even if someone chooses not to get to know him. He impulsively runs his fingers through his hair when he is in a situation he's uncomfortable with, and is constantly shifting his weight from one foot to the other. These may not seem like much but they can tell you when you're testing his patience easily; though he can't remember the last time he threw a rage-fit (if he ever has at all) and feels nothing more than minor irritation on that front.
Saja's ideas of fun are; however, drastically different than what the average person would call fun. He can definitely be a bit of a troublemaker.
"What's so fun about it if there's not a risk of getting caught?"
Another funny little quirk about him is his utter adoration for girl groups. He is definitely more into the rap scene than fawning over idols, but he will defend girl groups to his last breath if he is confronted about his "guilty pleasure".
HISTORY: Saja was born into a family that was heavily involved in organized crime. Operating mainly out of Hongdae, his father found a niche in marketing drugs to the foreigners that came to experience some of the best nightlife Korea has to offer. It wasn't a life young Saja had a reason to complain about originally. There was food in his stomach and a roof over his head. Truth be told, his parents weren't the first ones in his family to make a living in such ways. Drug dealing and negotiations with the Chinese and Japanese mafia is all they've ever known.
Due to his family's constant flow of extra won and him being the only child, Saja was raised with nothing less than the best. He was tutored by elite private teachers, ate nothing but the finest cuisine, and was even dressed in top-notch fashion. His family even got away with bribing many of the city officials to turn a blind eye to their elicit activities.
Young Saja took a deep interest in art, and would often spend much of his free time sketching portraits of family members to present to them as gifts or painting elaborate landscapes.
But this sort of happiness didn't last for long for him.
When Saja was barely 14, his parents disappeared in the night. He was interviewed by police and released to the care of the only close family member who wasn't involved in anything shady; his uncle. A doctor in inner-city Seoul. Weeks went by in passing, and while Saja still lived a good life, he didn't have any won to splurge on art supplies or fashion.
The police ended up discovering two bodies that had surfaced far down the Han River. They never did figure out who perpetrated or ordered the murder. He probably should have been devastated after discovering the truth about what had happened to his parents... but honestly he didn't even know them all to well. He'd always felt isolated from them no matter how much they spoiled him.
And here it is years down the line; Saja has since channeled his artful abilities into being a tattoo artist. While he isn't legally licensed to do such work, many have sought him out for his talents. Few actually find him. Still, it's enough to make a living off of and he makes sure to stay in contact with his uncle still in the inner-city.
Saja always makes it a point to stay lowkey in case the mafia comes back to claim one last loose end.
