what is lazy lit? it's great - i've shifted to this style in an attempt to say more with less and maximize my enjoyment of creative writing. it's a way to maintain high-level, quality, "advanced" writing without the pressure of meeting a minimum kind of arbitrary word count. depending on context and the degree of action happening in a given scene, you can expect replies in the 200-500 word range.

about me

+ i'm 23 years old and i am only interested in connecting w other adults (please be 18+)
+ i'm a busy person, in grad school and doing gig work on the side. i will never prioritize this creative hobby over like, real work. i can promise at least one reply every 1-2 weeks
+ that being said, i can def chitchat/plot more frequently than that, and i love co-creating with a writing partner! i use discord for all ooc chatter
+ i'm progressive and place a lot of value on diversity and inclusion, so that is reflected in my character creation and in the people i choose to create with
+ i don't double plots, and if i choose to use a face claim for my characters, i use real people (as opposed to anime/drawn/etc.)
plots
these are all original (unless otherwise stated), but i cited my sources of inspiration for each plot for the sake of transparency. these are also intentionally vague - looking forward to hearing your character ideas and interpretations/spin-offs of what i've written. please reach out via direct message and include your discord tag (if you have one) of any of these catch your eye!

outer dark
+ tags: modern, mystery, true crime, psychological horror
+ inspo: sharp objects, gillian flynn
+ in a small town of just a few hundred, the recent disappearances of five teenagers is cause for panic. completely off the grid and tucked away in the suffocating scenic wilderness, it's just the locals, screaming summer cicadas, and something violent moving in the darkness just behind the trees. outside investigators and media representatives are drawn to the mess like flies; some of them were born in this town and left for a reason, but feel compelled to come back by something greater than themselves and what they ran from.

the harvest
+ tags: 80's-90's, dark academia, occult, psychological horror
+ inspo: the secret history, donna tartt. bunny, mona awad.
+ a prestigious, seemingly intellectual and professional secret society at a top academic college slowly reveals itself as a cult through a series of initiation tasks that grow increasingly intense and harrowing. by the time this year's cohort of initiates comes to this terrifying realization, it's far too late to leave - they're victimized, witnesses, and complicit all at the same time in an incomprehensibly large and abstract game. that doesn't stop them from trying to escape, though.

indifferent stars
+ tags: near future, post-apocalyptic, survival, supernatural
+ inspo: the road, cormac mccarthy. and kind of the bible but not rly
+ the rapture finally happened and the end times are here. although it isn't understood why some were more deserving of salvation than others, approximately half of the world's population quite literally vanished. the acute disappearance of that many people plunges the world into immediate utter chaos, and humanity's attempts to stabilize itself are undermined by the semi-mortal otherworldly beings that now walk among them.

children of abraham
+ tags: fandom, dystopia, survival (open to a slow burn romance)
+ inspo: the hunger games universe (no canon characters, please), suzanne collins
+ in the vastly unequal nation of panem, this year's quarter quell is a district's choice game: two tributes are chosen by mandatory popular vote from their respective districts. the reaped tributes represent the dregs of society, shunned and rejected outcasts for any number of reasons, and are desperately hungry for the chance to be redeemed in their nation's eye.
