The soles of Glacia's shoes clicked on the stone street. She looked out of place, in pristine clothing--a long, high-necked overcoat, clean boots, a pair of white gloves--in a place where darkness and dirt seemed to cling.

She had a meeting with someone. Supposedly, they knew the origin of her abilities. It was a lead with little support, but it caught her interest. That interest was the sole reason why the heiress would even dream of setting foot in a town like this one. Glacia rolled her shoulders and wrapped her hand around the switchblade in her pocket, her only weapon, brought only out of self-defense. She was not so arrogant as to think she would be exempt from any whims of a common thief.

A couple of men in ragged clothing would be watching her from a dark alleyway across the street. They seemed to be talking about her, after a while they started to call out to her, telling her to come. One yelled,"Hey,you must be new around here, let me show you aroound!" Another said,"you seem like a nice girl, you'll need some protection around these parts." They did'nt seem friendly at all.

Glacia threw them a cold glance. She would not give them her precious time. She sensed their ill intentions towards her and kept moving. Her hand tightened around the blade and she took in a steadying breath. It would be inopportune to lose her composure. Really, it was always an inopportune time to lose her composure, but today especially.

one of them said,"oh come on,don't be like that, we're just trying to 'help'".As he finished talking, the men and himself started to walk towards her, anxious to not let her leave. They looked around to see if anyone was watching, there was a guard all the way at the end of the street, about 56ft away, then started speed walking towards her. They wanted to get this over with quickly so that they wouldn't draw attention. The same man said,"We just wanna talk",he tried to not sound nervous, but his face portrayed his nervousness.

A lump started to form in Glacia's throat. Clearly, they were more invested in her as a target for...whatever their intentions were...than she'd previously assumed. Her heart started to speed up. She forced her breathing to stay regular. Her brain clicked through the possibilities faster than she could process. Were they aware of her status as a heiress? Did they want her for some ritual? Did they single her out for a victim of human trafficking? She cast a quick glance at the guard and a plan began to form. If she could delay them somehow, and catch the attention of the guard soon after....

"I don't want your help," she spat, voice bordering on a shout, whirling around to face the strange men suddenly. She planted her feet--hopefully the sudden movement would take them by surprise and draw attention to herself. She raised her chin and started down the man, defiant and cold, sensing his nervousness and intending to intimidate him. She parted her jaws and drew in another breath, this one with intent to scream for the guard, or just for help. She personally hated asking for assistance, but it seemed her pride would have to come below her safety today.

The men jumped back and just stared at her in shock,as she walked. One of the other men saw her breath in and open her mouth. He lunged at her, trying to stop her from what he thought she was trying to do.The gaurd was facing this way trying to see what was happening, but he wasnt walking towards them. The other men just stood there.

Glacia flinched away from the man, and let out a shriek, falling backward. She gasped, trying desperately to keep herself under control. She was in no danger. Yet. The guard was right there. And she still had the switchblade. The switchblade.

She pulled the switchblade out from her pocket and held it out. The blade sprung open, the tip pointed at the man's chest. She clutched the handle with both hands like a lifeline, squeezing it. "Get back," she snarled, trying to look bigger than she was.

He was about to grab her until she took out the blade. He took a couple of steps back and said in a forced calm voice,"Take it easy there,I just wanted to talk...",he wanted to do more then talk,he wanted to grab her and knock her out with the magical dust he had in a small bag in his left sleeve but now he couldn't do so.

The guard finally noticed something was going on when he saw her fall back onto the floor,he started to slowly walk towards where they were, his hand glowing with a blueish light.
( crescendi crescendi your really good at rping)

(( laughingman12 laughingman12 thank you!! i've been rp'ing since 2013 so i've had a lot of practice))

"Then you could have simply approached me politely instead of accosting me from several feet away and then diving at me," Glacia replied, standing up slowly, keeping the blade out. She tried to keep her voice steady, but it shook, and she hated herself for it. She gave several furtive glances toward the guard. She no longer looked as confident, and she found that she could not unclench her jaw.

( crescendi crescendi ,thats a lot of time, ive been rping since 2016)

"Well I suppose you are right..",He sighed but then he had a sly smile,as if he had a plan forming. The guard was a little more then half way there,He had a cloth covering his face, his eyes looked as if they glowed yellow. The man signaled to some of the men behind him with is hand,it was on his back so that she couldn't see,two of the men walked into the ally. "well, your out of luck, one guard with a little magic can't stop the 5 of us",he said in a delighted tone. The two men broughht 2 very rusty swords,a axe,a hunting knife, and a bat.The man grabbed the bat as the others grabbed the rest.He said,"your coming with us after we beat the heck out of that guard"

(don't worry she'll make it out)

Panic clammed up Glacia’s throat. Her knuckles, beneath her gloves, were white. She depried her left hand‘s fingers from the blade. Her palm began to glow, visible from even beneath the glove. A blast of red magic shot out from her hand, and toward the man with the bat. It burned through the fabric completely, ruining the glove. The blast would knock the weapon out of his hand, and also had the force to send one of the men flying if he did not get out the way.

It was a desperate gambit, as she would not be able to summon another one for several hours. Or, if she did, it would be extremely weak or knock her out completely.

The man with the glove was con fused as the blast flew and hit him, sending him flying against one of the other men,who were all in shock, both men were out cold, two of the other men fled as the last one standing looked at her and to the men who were knocked out,he had the knife,he flung it right at her and dragged the man who had the bat, leaving the other behind. The guard was 10 steps away from her,he saw the blade and froze it so that it stopped,it was a few inches away from her stomach. The guard said in a sarcastic tone,"That was quite a show you put on."He then said normally,"What happened here?" The other men had escaped.

Glacia inhaled deeply, steadying herself. She was not in the wrong here—surely the guard would see sense. Replacing the switchblade in her pocket, she started, “They verbally accosted me from afar, even when I told them I did not desire their...help. Some of them followed me and I attempted to call for when, which is when one them jumped at me and I fell. I brought out the switchblade, for I naturally feared for my safety.” She took another breath. Her voice was still shaking, and her pride needed her to sound confident. When she spoke again, her words were smooth. “They brought out their own weapons, which is when I chose to resort to my own magic. It is...volatile. This brings us to the present.” She offered him a tight-lipped smile, warm as winter and geniune as a con artist.

"Well,i believe you,I've seen plenty of men like them try to help girls like you,it was smart that you didn't accept their help",He said as he ripped the blade from the ice, examining it.He listened to her next statement then looked up at her and said,"Most people here barely know how to do magic, and they are afraid of people who know how to use it, so they buy magic items,as one of the men you fought had, although he didn't know you had the capability to do magic,he was going to use it on you it seemed."He picked up the bag of magic sleeping dust that the man dropped and looked at it then tossed it at her in a way that it wouldn't spill."its some sort of sleeping dust, not that powerfull.well anyways what brings you here?"He asked curiously.

Glacia rolled her shoulders and nodded along as the guard spoke, pulling off the ruined glove. So magic was rare around here. Perhaps the lead was false; she had likely missed the meeting, if it wasn’t just a plot to lure her to this location.

She caught the bag, holding it close to her chest. She peered inside, keeping it away from her face. “Hm,” was all she said, and closed the bag. “I had a rendezvous,” she explained, looking up at the guard. “By now, it is too late to arrive on time, and I doubt they are the type to wait.” It wasn’t a lie, just a, hm, framing of the truth. She had no idea if her mysterious contact (if she could even call them that) would wait or not, but either way, she did not intend to show face at the arranged meeting place. Too risky.

She drew in a breath, and placed the glove in her pocket. “Would you mind telling me about these men? Do you know...what they do with the girls?”

"Well i guess I should've came sooner.",He said, throwing the knife into the ally,as he has no use of it.He responded to her last statement,"well,if you really want to know, most people here standing around in groups are part of small guilds, but those aren't good ones, they're full of thiefs, assassins, slavers, etc.and about the girls..,they usally sell them to the slavers, and those sell them to other people or just keep them.Any other questions?" As he finished, his mask had slid down a bit and his head looked like it was made out of bone.

"Mhm," was all Glacia said initially, not much of a reply. She filed away the given information, and when the guard's mask slid down, she did not react. She supposed it would be rude to comment or point it out, and only bounced on her toes. "Do you know of a place which I can stay for the night, before I head back home." Although it was phrased as a question, its flat infliction was more suited to a statement.

His eyes turned a brighter blue as he thought,he finally answered,"well,at the end of the road, turning right and walking more down, theres a inn that charges 250 revna,i could escort you there if you want." He then look around while he waited for a reply.
(5 revna is a dollar so thats 50 dollars, crescendi crescendi
