Arrival in the Land of the Lost will happen one of a few ways (this time).
Florida Tech Cruise - 2027
A group of college grad students from Florida Tech on summer vacation cruise aboard a small luxury superyacht in the year 2027.
Note: Any characters arriving on this yacht shold be grad students following technical careers. Here is a link to the major programs offered there. OR they could be crew. (I have plans for the Owners.) The cruise was a prize awarded to some of the top students. The yacht will arrive with only mild damage. The engines will not function however - except on the “toys” (dolphin subs and amphibious ATV’s.
USMC Iraq - 2008
Unit of US Marines in Iraq at the ruins of ancient Parthian in 2008.

Cut off from the rest of their unit and under heavy fire and forced back into the ruins. A couple civilians would also be possible here. Yes, they will arrive with their gear!!!
Archeological Field Expedition - 1998
Archeological Field Expedition to ancient ruins similar to Angkor Wat, but discovered on an island off the coast of South America in the year 1998

These should be archeology grad students, or grad students from supporting professions. They will arrive with their gear in backpacks (25-100 pounds of gear depending on the physique of the student). You may also create a professor or two.
C47 - 1985

C-47 Design and Operational History
I have plans for 3 of the passengers. They were being smuggled to the USA. You will need to have some serious funds to purchase a “ticket”. There will also be 3 crew. The pilot is a close “friend” of one of my passengers - and a Vietnam War vet. If the other two crew are group members, I may make most of the cargo belong to my passengers.
Other Arrivals
I will entertain other arrivals, but do not want to get carried away with too many. If you do arrive by another route, you will arrive alone. Your survival odds will be low unless teamed up. (I can think of some origins that would have better odds. Military with gear?) So you might want to get together with someone to go this route.
Any other arrivals should be from a time between 1960 and 2020. Do your research on the technology of your era.
NPC’s
I love creating them. Some will be important. Some will have been elite in their own eras, but will have no clue what a cell phone is or even how to read. Some won’t be human. Good clue, if I haven’t bothered to come up with a name, odds are they are less important and expendable. A band of pirates, or lizardmen? Expendable.
Setting
This RP takes place in a setting similar to that of the Conan Doyle novel Lost World, or the movie Land that Time Forgot, or the TV series Land of the Lost - from which I adopted the name of this RP. It is an inescapable group of islands in which creatures thought extinct still exist. There may be species that have evolved to sapience like Lizard Men or intelligent apes, or maybe prehistoric humans. There will be megafauna as well.
The sea surrounding the islands is a sargasso. Ships’ engines will not function. Various technological items may malfunction for no reason. The island will seem to have a will of its own. (Some of the natives are “sure” the spirits of the island.) A yacht may arrive offshore and just sit there. Or it may arrive in a storm and end up beached. Typically everyone aboard will arrive unconscious and awaken with mild disorientation that will fade soon. There will be older shipwrecks visible from other eras. The Origin and age of the wreck may not be the same. A Victorian era wreck could be more recent than a World War II crash.
Those who arrive by land will exit strange caves of ruins completely different from the ones they had been in - and in a tropical climate. (This should provide the US Marines quite a shock.)
Those who arrive by air will crash in the jungle.
Note the different years. This should be a hint of things to come as they all arrive at the same time.
Plot
I plan to handle encounters and plots at first. Your arrivals are going to invite investigations. By investigations I mean raids or rescues. Most older wrecks will have been picked over in the past. That should be a good hint about the fate of any planes, yachts, etc that you arrive in.
Most of you won’t be armed at first. That is bad.

3rd Person past tense
Good content. A one liner is not acceptable. I do not want to set a length minimum. Contribution to the story is much more important.
I understand real life. But if you can’t commit to regular posting, then please don’t apply.

Specs - here for an idea of the technology. But the Milekey is twice as long. The Crew numbers 15, and there are up to 18 Guests in 9 cabins (1 Master, 2 VIP, 6 Double) - plus the Owners’ Suite)
