Kenta

age

25

gender

male

occupation

currently: athlete

sexuality

pansexual

pronouns

he/him

Personality

Flighty by nature, Kenta rebels against authority and craves freedom. Responsibility feels like chains to this untamed spirit as he embraces an unorthodox approach to life with four hooves. He effortlessly flits from one venture to another, drunk on the chase of novelty and adventure. He may seem restless on the outside, yet inside that façade beats a cautious, hesitant-to-trust heart. For those fortunate enough to earn his loyalty, Kenta is an unwavering companion. In the face of adversity, he stands steadfast, a symbol of enduring support and unbreakable bonds. Though he may prance with a spirited stride, his true strength lies in the unwavering devotion he extends to those who prove themselves worthy. Vanity dances in the depths of his soul, as he cherishes his appearance and secretly strives to dazzle those around him.

Background

The Watanabe family delighted in the discovery that one of their children was to be born as a vessel for one of the Zodiacs. As devoted followers, they were overjoyed to fulfill their roles and willingly surrendered him to his destined family upon his birth. As a result, Kenta himself harbored no sense of longing for their presence growing up and still has no desire to reconnect with them.

Living at the compound, however, was hell for him, where fleeting moments of tranquility only emerged in the company of his fellow hosts. Authority chafed at him like a too-tight harness growing up, and he yearned to break free from the constraints of the many rules that come with being born into the Zodiac. His restless spirit could not be tamed, and he knew that his destiny lay in carving out his own path, no matter where it might lead him. So, as soon as he turned 18, he left the compound, intent on living his life for himself and no one else.

Since venturing beyond the compound's confinements, Kenta's life was weaved by an intricate tapestry of fleeting passions and eclectic pursuits. From backpacking across Japan, to immersing himself in artistic apprenticeships and even almost becoming a professional track runner, Kenta has done almost everything - anything - that brings him joy. Diligently guarding the secret of his identity as the Horse zodiac, he used the cloak of anonymity to pursue his passions. Amidst his nomadic wanderings, he even dared to venture on quests to unravel the enigmatic curse that shackles him, only to taste the bitter fruit of failure.

The news at the banquet was...complicated. On one hand, a suffocating sense of personal inadequacy washed over him for his failure to break free from the curse's clutches. Yet, on the other hand, a glimmer of anticipation shimmered amidst the shadows, knowing that the grand cycle was reaching its end. Perhaps finally, he could dare to dream of gallivanting through green pastures. For what more could the soul of a horse yearn, if not to break free from the shackles of predestined fates and gallop into the wide expanse of unrestrained existence?

Physical Attributes

Kenta commands attention with his tall and well-muscled figure. One of his most striking features is his head of luscious, black hair, which cascades down in sleek waves. When he transforms into a horse, his jet-black mane is a stark contrast against his white coat. He has bright, expressive brown eyes and his long legs taper down to powerful, well-toned calves.

Miscellaneous

- birthday: june 20th
- always whistling/humming some sort of tune under his breath
- really likes apples
- obsessed with lucky charms
- cannot sit still. taps his feet when sitting down anywhere
- birds love perching on his shoulders and making nests in his hair

THE CAT
;; reiji
❝ but there is a light in the dark and i feel it’s warmth, in my hands and my heart, why can’t i hold on? ❞

BASICS
name: Reiji
nicknames: Rei (only those closest to him can call him that)
gender & pronouns: Male (he/him)
age: 23 Years Old
sexuality: Bisexual
role: The Cat
occupation: Librarian’s Assistant
birthday: January 7th

VISAGE
eyes: An icy blue as cold as the stone walls around his heart.
hair: Straight and silky strands of black hair. Soft to the touch, it crowns his head like a dark halo.
notable features: This strange young man is rarely seen without a bandage covering his skin, telling of his tendency to continue using bandaids long after wounds have healed. Such a peculiar habit leaves many wondering what stories Reiji could be concealing underneath.

physicality: Reiji does not have to be in his Zodiac form for one to realize something is different about his looks. Glacier blue eyes that glow in moonlight, his icy pupils sometimes narrow into slits in catlike fashion, but their bright hue is further enhanced by the pale sight of his visage. His parchment white skin is contrasted by his dark hair of fresh ink— reminiscent of a black cat as it curls into a ball of darkness. Rei’s dark bangs only contribute to this effect, occasionally falling over his eyes to shield him from the world.

When stressed, Reiji’s zodiac features start to pop out. Soft black cat ears sprout on his mop of dark hair, betraying his true nature, while a velvety tail appears, lashing from irritation. Upon closer inspection one may notice his sharp teeth while his nails will also become slightly sharper like claws. In his animal form, Reiji is the size of a regular fully grown house cat, and is almost indistinguishable from a real one. Still, even as a cat, Rei will never lose his piercing stare.

true form: Reiji's true form is a grotesque beast, reeking with the foul scent of rotting flesh. This form is said to be the Cat's punishment for rejecting the God in their first life.

≪ ◦ ❖ ◦ ≫

PERSONA
personality: To be in Rei’s presence is to navigate a labyrinth of prickly rosebushes and freezing stares. Snappish and snarky; He bears a tongue sharpened by the cruelties he's endured. His sharp words paint an unapologetic portrait of disdain, disdain for a world that has been merciless. He has learned not to expect kindness from others, for he has been cast aside and mistreated, relegated to the shadows of existence. Why should Reiji extend warmth when it is so rarely bestowed upon him?

Reiji embodies the aloofness and self-preservation of a feline, ever vigilant and wary of the world's intentions. His piercing gaze, guarded and distant, betrays a mistrust of others— a cautious skepticism that has been etched into the very fibers of his being. This icy nature deters many from approaching him, yet Reiji does not care enough to change this. He mainly keeps to himself and tries his best to avoid the other members of the Zodiac, pushing away anyone who gets too close to getting past his walls.

But as indifferent as he wants to appear, the temperamental fragments of his soul still linger. Anger and fear storm inside him. No doubt a sensitive soul, Rei’s emotions will occasionally pool over; He wrestles with the burden of his sensitivity, fearing it may expose his soft underbelly to a world that has proven itself merciless. Reiji is haunted by the fear of being hurt further than he already has, but in rare moments of vulnerability, his guard falters. There lies a flicker of longing—a profound yearning for genuine kindness and care that, if ever encountered, would leave him truly bewildered.

≪ ◦ ❖ ◦ ≫

HISTORY
compound: Reiji was given away without hesitation to the compound by his disturbed parents, or so he’s been told by the servants. He found himself shackled to a fate he neither chose nor comprehended. The very essence that coursed through his veins; His nature of being the Cat's host-- it was a catalyst for prejudice. In the eyes of many of the servants who were meant to nurture him, he was marked as an outcast, destined to bear the brunt of their scorn, all because he was born as the host of the cursed spirit of the cat.

Innocent and naive, he couldn't fathom why he, too, couldn't bask in the warmth of admiration that was freely bestowed upon the other Zodiac children. Soon he would come to realize that his early years in the compound were just a small glimpse into a future of red hot tears and bloody knuckles.

The truth is, Reiji was loved. He was loved by a warm woman, who had fully embraced her child with every fiber of her being even when hearing the news of him being the next Cat, She loved so deeply that the servants had cried upon taking the newly born Reiji. Yet, there was nothing that could be done to prevent him from being taken from her. Ripped away from her arms and thrown into a cruel world. When Reiji grew older, he was told by the servants that his mother was horrified that she had given birth to the next Cat, and had gladly given him away without a second thought.

The lies, they would churn in his mind for the rest of his life, growing in size and festering like wounds.

Growing up, it was no secret that Reiji hated the compound, for his youth was marred by unwarranted isolation, met with rejection at every turn. In those early years, a young Reiji couldn't withstand the weight of the world's disdain. He was, in his own admission, somewhat of a crybaby, unable to comprehend the reasons behind the harsh treatment he received.

It was around this time that Rei met Okada Michi, a sweet woman in her early thirties, Michi was there for him when no one else was and was the first to treat him with kindness. To young Reiji, Michi was like a mother to him. Even as Reiji progressed into a more temperamental child as he neared his pre-teen years, Michi remained patient and nurturing. Okada Michi, was his lifeline.

The disparity in treatment between himself and his peers gnawed at his soul, breeding a deep-seated bitterness within him; At 13 years old, Reiji began to act out, starting violent fights. But with each punishment, each intensifying retribution, he slowly began to learn to restrain himself, keeping his emotions bottled up, in a glass case full of fractures covered up with bandaids; tales of years of youth lost. It was his futile attempt to keep his feelings locked inside, for it was easier to stay quiet and accept the mistreatment than to act out and have it paid back tenfold.

One such punishment had taken a piece of Rei’s heart with it. On a day when the world had been particularly brutal, Okada Michi had furiously demanded that the punishments stop. Michi’s heart couldn’t bear to see this thirteen year old boy being subjected to such treatment, so each new day, she’d march into the God’s home, get down, and beg until bruises formed on her knees. She had even begged for him not to be imprisoned in the Cat’s Room. Okada Michi continued this ritual for a week until it was decided that enough was enough.

On the eighth day, all of Michi’s memories of Reiji were wiped. No matter how much Reiji screamed, begged, or bled for Okada Michi’s fate, nothing could be done. Reiji blamed the servants, the God, and the other Zodiac hosts— but most of all, he blamed himself. As time inexorably marched forward, Reiji’s tears dried, replaced by an icy chill that settled within the crevices of his fractured heart.

post-compound: Reiji left the compound as soon as he was able to move out. Due to being the Cat, he was not permitted to move too far away, but he pushed his luck. While Reiji had the grades for it, he found little reason to continue going to university as he was going to be locked up in the Cat’s Room at some point of his life, so he ended up dropping out in his second year. Reiji grew disenchanted with the idea of pursuing a career but eventually he accepted the position of an assistant librarian for the library that he frequented. Amidst the shelves lined with books, he found solace in the company of words.

≪ ◦ ❖ ◦ ≫

THE TRUTH REVEALED
reaction: Upon first learning the news of the truth, Reiji felt numb, he was just tired of anything related to the Zodiac and he had bitterly thought he really should have expected something like this, what with how unfortunate he has been his entire life. Then the cruel cackles came rolling out. There is a clear sliver of amusement that shines in his dull eyes, and he now finds a deranged form of glee in seeing the anger and despair on the other zodiac’s faces. Reiji essentially copes with the news of his untimely fate, by laughing in its face.

While he may not seem it, he, just like many other vessels of the zodiac, are upset by the news, but Reiji deals with his despair by ignoring it in favour of mocking the others instead. Bringing out his inner bitter feelings, in a crude act of projection. Reiji, who since birth was humiliated, ostracized, and told that he was the vessel of a traitorous cat that made him deserving of being locked away in isolation at some future point of his life until death, thought it was about damn time that that the other zodiacs could feel even just an ounce of the helplessness that he felt since he was first brought into this messed up world.

sheep_girl_oc.jpg

Name: Konishi
Age: 23
Birthday: May 3rd
Gender|Pronouns: Female|She/her
Sexuality: bisexual
Role: Sheep
Occupation: Substitute Teacher/College Student
Personality: Coming off as shy and timid, Konishi doesn’t want to make too many waves in the river of life. She feels like being ignored makes her life easier. She’s seen the ‘out’ zodiacs and knows of their hard times. Still, her kindness is noticed more than she realizes. She’s often well-liked, her demeanor quiet enough that few have bad things to say about her. Her fear of arguments and confrontations has led her to be more of a moderator, soothing words coming easily. It helps that people often confide in her, letting her know those around her well enough to understand their perspective. Many of her colleagues have been impressed by her ability to calm her students.
Physical Appearance: Her blonde hair is what most people notice about her first. It’s always long and soft, for those who dare to touch it, flowing over her shoulders. Occasionally she’ll take the time to braid it out of the way, but usually she likes the shield it provides. She has large amber eyes, accented by the round glasses she always wears. As for clothes, she’s prone to wearing loose, baggy clothes with a lot of knitted garments in the winter. She strives for comfort, but will always lean toward duller colors like creams and browns, to avoid grabbing attention.
Background: Konishi’s parents were surprised to discover their premature daughter was a Zodiac member, as neither of them came from prominent families. The accountants still welcomed the news, though expressed dismay at losing her at thirteen. Still, they assumed they’d be able to remain in contact with their child, so accepted it without much argument. They raised her happily, pleased with her kind heart and eagerness to help everyone. She was a good child, well-behaved, but she truly started to shine at age 7, when her little brother was born.

Konishi wasn’t really concerned with her parents' reassurances that they were trying to replace her (though she was confused about how this baby was a surprise: it took months to come.) Even before he came out, she loved helping her mom around the house and talking to the baby, telling him stories, and welcoming him every night. As if it would make him come faster. Her mother joked the young girl learned patience during her mother’s pregnancy and it was likely true. Konishi was sure she hadn’t waited that long for anything else before.

The child thrived as a big sister. She was there for first steps and words, and even covered the dirty side of babies. Which was very stinky. Her mother was mostly amused by her insistence but was grateful as her husband took more hours to overcome her choice to stay at home. Konishi would rush home from school to help, and as she aged she took over more responsibilities, letting her mother begin to work from home again.

The family of four was happy. All were aware of the upcoming date, but ignored its looming deadline. But all too soon, the servants of the God appeared. Konishi was apprehensive, if willing. After clinging to them all, but especially her little brother as she was worried most about him, she followed the servants to the new world.

She adjusted quietly. Crying herself to sleep at night, she wrote letters daily to her family. Unknowingly, she described what was happening. The lessons, but also the punishments she saw enacted. How she was scared to breathe incorrectly, because she didn’t know what that Reiji boy did, but she didn’t want to do it. But in her naivety, she thought her letters wouldn’t be opened, or checked. And within the week, the servants decided she was too attached to her family (though they had not sent the incriminating letters.) And they were going to erase their memories of her.

It was then she fought, begged them not to. Pleaded she would be good, having figured out it was the letters she’d done wrong. It was then she learned hatred. As they brought her with them, preventing her from running to them. Making her watch as their scared faces went blank and confused. And helplessness as she transformed, still a child, her horns unformed, the prey animal easily subdued for all she fought with all her strength.

She disappeared then. Oh, she physically could not run from the compound, but she hid everything inside of her. She knew her new home was not safe from then on and did what she could to fall under the radar of the others. She did not mind the other zodiacs, even the cat, as they were prisoners like her. But she learned to chose her battles, calming fights when she could to keep the peace, but was usually ignored.

She stayed in this shadowed state until one day she saw him. Shock kept her in place, and only habit kept her face blank. It had been years, but she recognized the little boy searching for books in a different section than her. It was her brother. It was then she realized she could find them. She could make sure her family was okay. But she’d have to be careful.

Konishi threw herself into her studies. She lacked friends and her only hobby was knitting (as was expected of the Sheep) so lessons were absorbed quickly. Exceptionalism was expected of Zodiacs, so it was easy to test out of prerequisites into higher classes. She managed to graduate early (a quiet achievement that went ignored by most) and went straight to college.

It was there she started to expand. She grew a reputation as an excellent listener. People started coming to her for their problems, telling her secrets. Everyone knew she was the Zodiac, but she was the Sheep, so she had to be trustworthy. She’d help, occasionally using her position as the Sheep to talk to professors or staff, but usually just building a network on her own.

It was probably because of her status that she was able to become a substitute teacher while in college. But Konishi didn’t care. She was allowed to be in his school. She could finally see how he was doing. Maybe even help him. She worried the God would realize, but she kept her excitement inside. It was merely another step to becoming a teacher.

The Truth: Surprising everyone, Konishi coughed out a laugh, mostly covered by Reiji’s own mocking laughter. She wasn’t surprised. The God had always been her enemy. Sure, this was especially cruel, but that seemed to be what the bastard thrived on. She hoped she was smart enough as a sheep to know not to trust him then.

She was scared, as she’d always been beneath the hatred. She’d never seen a ewe, but she knew how her brain changed when she hid beneath the wool of her form. Would it remain that way? Where she could still be herself, just more locked away than ever before? Or would she just be a dumb animal?

the dragon.

Zhou Rui Xi

♡coded by uxie♡

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐓.

Full Name: Zhou Rui Xi (周瑞禧)
Age: 35
Birthday: February 17, 1988
Gender: Female
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Lesbian
Role: The Dragon
Occupation: Corporate Lawyer

Appearance:
○ Long, mulberry-colored hair typically tied in a bun
○ Round, magenta eyes
○ Slender build with lean muscles
○ Fair complexion with purple scales along her waist and shoulder (though she grows more covered by the day).
○ 5'10" (178cm)
○ Though she dislikes her curse she cannot deny how formidable her dragon form is. At fourteen feet in length and eight hundred pounds in weight, Rui Xi is one of, if not, the largest animals within the zodiac. Scales as purple as her hair line her body while aubergine horns adorn her head and equally dark fins run down her spine. White tufts of fur jut out from the back of her head and cheeks while black whiskers round our her fearsome appearance.
○ Her pheromones smell of burnt resins and frankincense with a stony base of tonka, metal, and fossilized wood. Though primarily woodsy, there's a smokiness not found in other hosts. Less like a temple and more like a den, her scent intimidates as much as it beckons those in her presence.

Personality: Rui Xi is an independent woman defined by her icy personality. She isn't one to mince words, preferring to remain concise and objective when speaking on the accomplishments and failures of others. There is nothing to be gained by speaking badly of others.

It's far more effective to watch someone hang themselves on their nooses.

She prides herself on separating the human from the beast, channeling her rage into action rather than self-pity. The days of yelling at customers and slapping office perverts have been replaced with guile and ruthlessness. She's keenly aware of her position as both a Zodiac member and isn't above leveraging it for further her goals. Cutting observations, displays of authority, and just the right amount of detachment has kept others at arms length.

But her armor isn't impenetrable. Rui Xi harbors a deep resentment towards the circumstances she was birthed into. Hoarding grudges as one would hoard gold, she keeps a mental tally of people's slights and insecurities, waiting until the zenith of her rage to unleash her typhoon.

At the eye of the storm is a woman scorned by pain, the strongest creature in the world yet powerless to stop her fate. The sunny days are few and far between. She considers herself lucky that there's anyone willing to stay and thus, remains protective of those within her ward.

Background: Ruijan blames the ocean for her daughter's curse. Having lived only an hour from the beach, her parents spent most of their summers swimming, walking the shoreline, and even surfing when the conditions were right. Even during her pregnancy, she would wade in the shallows before basking in the afternoon sun. Though she kept her diet strict and movements minimal, Rui Xi popped out two months early with scales dotting her shoulder blade.

Her mother prayed that they a vestigial feature and scrubbed the scales away, only for them to regrow whenever her daughter's emotions flared. Far from the benevolent protector that graced their foyer, her belly teemed with anger and her mouth spat flames. "We fed you too much fire to counteract the dragon, that's why you anger so easily," her mom had said as she slid a bowl of soup Rui Xi's way. It seemed that no matter how well she balanced her constitution, the curse clung to Rui Xi's body so once she turned thirteen her parents begrudgingly gave her to the compound. Within the same year she developed the ability to erase people's memories and became the cleaner for any host-related messes. Though she eventually learned to leverage her ability for money, Rui Xi wasn't proud of the bonds she erased nor the pictures that burned in the trash.

Some forgave Rui Xi, others disregarded her, and some even hated her, but she became accustomed to the chimera of trauma that ran through their household. Though her empathy was lacking, the compound taught her how to navigate the outside world and even allowed her to leave once she turned eighteen. Rui Xi strong-armed herself into the University of Tokyo before similarly, forcing herself into the business world. Contending with bureaucracy felt good, felt right. Though she was still working under someone, she had some semblance of control over her life.

An apartment, a long term long distance low commitment casual live-in girlfriend, and a bearded dragon were all within her grasp so naturally, the "God" had to rip everything away.

On Learning the Truth: Rui Xi stared at Arashi, fangs elongating before cold words left her lips.

"Enjoy the banquet for this one will be your last."

Fun Facts:
○ She loves being in the water, often meditating in a bath, pool, or other body of water
○ She is capable of erasing people's memories
○ She can play violin and cello, though only in the comfort of her own home
○ Rui Xi has impeccable luck when it comes to stocks and gambling.

the ox

--- personality ---
✻ lackadaisical ✻ complacent ✻ thoughtful ✻ blunt ✻
✻ realistic ✻ grounded ✻ hard-headed ✻ patient ✻

In most situations, Takumi can be categorized as down to earth, levelheaded, and quite the realist. He does not dwell on dreamy fantasies and often does not entertain other people's idealistic expectations. Due to this, he can often come across as someone who is quite unwavering and with an attitude, though he does not often mean for his words to perturb anyone despite the rough delivery of them. To him, stating things as they are is a norm and he prefers not to beat around the bush. Additionally, it is nearly impossible to change his mind once it is made up, and he does not often take advice from anyone nor does he leave room for bargaining. However, this does not mean that Takumi is unkind. He cares a great deal for those close to him and never means to offend.

While it is sparse in likelihood, there are still times that the Ox personality will revert in him and he'll face one of his former outbursts like when he was younger. Usually, he is good at keeping them managed and his overwhelming emotions do not slip through the cracks, but in the rare instances when he fails, Takumi becomes a beacon for unbridled rage.

--- physical attributes ---
Dark hair is often pushed back or left to hang in eyes that are just as inky in color. His strands are often dyed a jet black rather than kept the true color of dark chocolate, as he prefers to have some semblance of control over his life in the midst of feeling like everything is left up to the universe. At times, he has had other hair colors, but black seems to be his go to. Takumi is long-legged and tall in height, standing at 6'2" though he often slouches. His shoulders are wide and he could be considered toned, though not particularly muscular.

In his Zodiac form, Takumi is quite plain. From afar, his short fur appears to be black, though once one is closer or he stands in the sun, it's a deep brown. He has no spots or any markings, and his horns are long and quite menacing for an animal who doesn't all too often use them.

When it comes to showcasing his animal traits without his horns or tail showing up, Takumi wears an earring that looks similar to the tag placed on a cow's ear. It's a bit of a joke to him, but since he chose to come out as a zodiac member (or else he might've never made it as an artist, he figures his fans enjoy the blatant tip of the head to the Zodiac. As the end draws nearer, the Ox is finding himself with more stubborn opinions, even harder to sway than before. He is merely hoping that as their animal forms come to take them, he doesn't return to the petulant child he once was.

--- background ---
birth to thirteen;;

Takumi was born to a completely average family. They were shocked to learn the truth about their son, completely bewildered by the fact that he was one of the Zodiac members, but they accepted him for what he was with minimal complaints. Never once did they use him for any sort of gain, and the Yamada family kept quiet about their child and moved on with their lives to continue living a relatively normal lifestyle.
It became quickly apparent that Takumi had a knack for standing out. Outside of the curse and the problematic transformation that would occur if someone were to hug him, signs of his animal form became increasingly obvious as his personality took shape. Surprising to others who didn't grow up with Takumi, his earlier years were the ones that he spent being quite troubled. Temperamental, stubborn, bossy, it was a difficult task to reign him in and controlling his emotions seems beyond him. Along with his wild emotions and quick attitude problems, whenever he was stressed or angered, things such as horns would appear in the midst of his hair, or perhaps even a tail to swish angrily behind him. He wasn't quite normal, and the other kids at school began to take notice. As such, his parents were force to pull him from school and hired a private tutor to teach Takumi from the comfort of his own home. While homeschooling arranged for less variables to anger the young Ox, breakdowns were still particularly common over considerably slight mishaps. To sum it up, the kid was a menace.

Though his parents loved him, it was almost a vacation for them to give him up. When they turned him over to the compound, Takumi found himself staring back at the face of the people who raised him with complete anger, wishing that they hadn't just given up so easily. Was he someone who wasn't worth a fight? Did he not matter to them? However, when searching for the answers now, he can rather confidently say that it must've been hard on them, and he is almost thankful that they know no longer remember those years.

thirteen and up;;
Once settled in at the compound, Takumi still had his normal outbursts, though they were quickly squandered. He got away with them for some time, but it was a quickly instilled knowledge that they wouldn't be tolerated. In this time is when the Zodiac member took up painting and began channeling much of his anger into brush strokes rather than harshly placed words or throwing punches. By fifteen, Takumi had reached a state of mellow that is reflected in his current age, becoming someone who is relatively levelheaded and stable.

current;;
After turning eighteen, he chose to reveal himself to the world as a member of the Zodiac. Skipping out on college, he went straight for getting his art out there, building a following for his paintings with the gain of his status as the Ox. He has stayed close to the compound only to keep Arashi pleased and off his back, considering he's not too sure he would just willingly return often like the others who live farther away are required to do. It's easier this way, and means that he, for the most part, is free to spend his time doing whatever he pleased rather than facing the wrath of the God.

--- the news ---
Well... there's really not much to do to change it, now is there? If Takumi weren't the person he is now, he might've screamed and thrown his tantrum to show everyone how unfair the situation is, but instead he often shrugs it off. It might be angering to those that are upset by the upcoming deadline of their freedom, but his finds himself unable to focus on what will happen and prefers to face the present head on. In the end, the God always gets what they want, and Takumi alone cannot be the one to stop it.

Nova Torazawa

The Tiger

Name: Nova Torazawa

Age: 22

Gender/pronouns: She/Her

Role: The Tiger

Birthday: March 22nd

Sexuality: Bisexual

Occupation: Chef

Personality: Nova is the type to express herself freely, without worrying of the potential consequences, as she values honesty within others. If it's something that she's interested in, it will be hard to pull her away. A sense of laser focus, that when not directed on the person that may be talking to her, can come off as cold simply because she doesn't see a reason to bring in any unnecessary headaches into her life. In her daily life, few see how she resembles her zodiac outside of any physical altercation. Her demeanor now being more akin to that of a ragdoll cat . Her presence and aura that exudes while she's in the kitchen, instructing the staff, or the natural flirty lilt in her voice truly reflected that they were in the presence of something they viewed as greatness. She is still prone to meltdowns once she's been overwhelmed but she does her best to deal with them on her own. Her sick sense of pride and inability to rely on others prevents her from seeking help, an aftereffect of learning at a young age that people only say they want to help but then fail to do what they promised. That's why the ones she keeps close are irreplaceable and have a level of trust that seems unshakeable.

Physical Description: 5'10'', Curly hair that resembles a 3C typing and has become fully orange with black streaks throughout, Golden amber eyes that gives a feline appearance, medium brown skin with reddish undertones, Has both lobes and a right industrial piercing, Left arm tattoo sleeve

1693892677906.png
, prefers loose fitting clothing, has faint stripes scattered around that change visibility based on her mental state.

Background: Nova is the youngest of 4 daughters [Nikki (Oldest, 29), Kaneko and Kanako(Twins, 25) ] between Kenta Torazawa [Japanese] and Nicole Robinson [African-American]. Her parents had met and fell in love while they attended a prestigious culinary academy. The Torazawa's were skeptical with the notion of ''racial mixing'' but Kenta was more than ready to abandon all ties he had with them over his love. As the only child of his parents and the carrier of their culinary legacy, they were quick to adjust their behavior and were more than enraptured with the birth of their beautiful granddaughters. There were members of the side branch of the family that refused to accept it but their grievances fell on deaf ears. However, the birth Nova ushered in an era that the last 3 generations had not expected. A zodiac was born once more to the Torazawa's, Nova's status was clear as day when she was born with inky black hair that already showed signs of orange highlights. Her eyes were also an unusual light amber color unlike her older sisters. Excitement was in the air, but it would end up being a very harsh awakening for Nicole and Kenta.

Nova's childhood was full of a sense of unease and inequality when it came to how both parents interacted with her. As a baby, Nova had already shown herself to be more of a daddy's girl as she would often find solace in his presence. However, with the curse, they were rightfully worried about having a tiger cub running around. Nicole took the news the hardest as she never really knew about the phenomenon and had assumed it was more akin to a legend. Her older sisters tried their hardest as children to look after her but one tantrum resulted in Nova lashing out and giving Nikki a nasty scar right under her eyebrow. It bled profusely due to the tiny clump of blood vessels but was not life-threatening. Nova spiraled and spent ages 6 to 7 as an animal full-time, or at least to the knowledge of her family. She would stay hidden in corners and in her room when possible even though no one blamed her for what happened. It took awhile to return to return to a semi-bubbly state and be able to interact without worrying if she would snap again and hurt someone else.

Right when things were at a good place for her, her 13th birthday rolled around. Nova put up one hell of a fight that required her to be sedated but the look on her family's face as they sobbed uncontrollably was burned into her brain as she swore she'd escape. She didn't care what 'great future' was ahead for her if it meant being separated. Being one of the rowdier Zodiacs came with its own aggressive restrictions and she knew that her reputation was that of some sort of wild beast. At the time, food was used as a motivator and reward for good behavior. Nova had dreamed of working in the family business anyway so she was mostly found in the kitchen watching the cooks as they sweated profusely with her presence. Once allowed to be back out in the world, she was contacted by the Torazawa elders that had written information on her and were quick to train her in the clan's cooking. It was odd to see her own parents and sisters look at her as a stranger while being unable to deny that there was a strong family resemblance. She was treated as a cousin that they had little interaction with and it drove her forward in her education and journey to taking over.

How she's currently feeling with the truth of the curse: If anyone were to ask Nova how she felt, she would quickly respond with something along the lines of, ''It is what it is and I just have to woman up and accept it y'know?'' In all seriousness, it pushes her self-discipline to a whole new level whenever her mind dwells on the fact that she was destined to be nothing more than a beast to keep her ancestor's companion company. It brought back the horrid and torrential anger she dealt with in her adolescence to mid-teens. At times, she wished the curse took over faster so that she would have to think about anything. She despises the people that are excited to get a glimpse of her because of her zodiac status. They all stare in awe as if she was an animal in a zoo, which she soon realized wasn't too far off from reality.
Fun Facts:
  • Around those that she's close with, her behavior resembles that of a Ragdoll cat. She can get physically clingy and is a sucker for platonic cuddling.

  • Was smart enough to skip a few grades but she now wonders if the high level of intelligence she once had has abandoned her since she rarely uses any skills from non-culinary schooling in her daily life

  • Enjoys drinking

  • Loves the cold due to her naturally higher body temp

  • In her Tiger form, her stripes are actually thicker and have more of a jagged look to them in comparison to a normal tiger.

  • Hates washing her own hair and often opts out by going to get it done or have someone else do it

  • Loves to hide and randomly jump out to scare whoever is close enough to be a victim

  • Has a strong dislike of birds and is sure the feeling is mutual on their end

  • Is unable to sleep without holding something in her arms

  • Loves cats but their reactions to her vary widely from intimidation to being seen as a large kitten.

  • Loves eating frozen grapes

  • Hates butterflies because of the Spongebob episode that showed an upclose image of those winged demon worms

  • Favorite food is any preparation of raw seafood, especially oysters
