Welcome to my latest project, "Kirby's New Adventure". This is a long-term roleplay that will play out over the entire course of a story akin to the Kirby games, starring everyone's favorite little puffball as the protagonist. If you're interested, then go ahead and look through the sections below to get a feel for what you're up against. Afterward, either reply to the thread or send a PM to express your want to play.
This thread's plotline will center around an alien creature that's recently come to Dreamland. It's been growing crystals all over the place to control the minds of the locals, and everything's gone awry as a result! It's up to Kirby to chase the creature down and stop the chaos, so Dreamland can be peaceful like it... Sort of is, usually.
This game will include enemies and bosses both original and canonical, so stay on your little pink toes!

1. This is more of a note than a rule, but this is to be played out like a game, moreso than a roleplay. There will be some dialogue, yes, but almost everything will be setting and action. Some posts will boil down to, "Nothing happened because you didn't do anything", and I'm not holding you to much of a standard either. Keep that in mind.
2. Kirby doesn't really talk. There's the occasional "Hi", but that's as close to speech as he typically gets. Sounds like "Poyo!" and "Eeuah!" are both adorable and canonical!
3. There are two modes to this: Story Mode and Challenge Mode. In Challenge Mode, you will have health that can be depleted, and you may be sent back to the start of a fight if you can't counter attacks correctly. In Story Mode, you'll just get tossed around. Be sure to specify which mode you want when you ask for a game!
4. This is a one-on-one roleplay, normally, in which every player who applies will be invited to their own game thread. If you want, you can invite a friend for co-op, but you can also kick them out if you want. Co-operators will be given the choice to play as either Keeby or Bandanna Dee. Additional characters can be unlocked by beating level bosses.
5. In a co-op Challenge Mode run, a battle will restart if both players are defeated. If only one is lost, then it's up to whoever's left to finish the fight!
6. I'm not going to demand any post length from you, due to the nature of this roleplay. On both sides, small posts will happen, especially during the normal levels. There's no need to write too in-depth about Kirby's thoughts either, since he doesn't really have that many.
7. No powergaming, especially in Challenge Mode! It's safe to assume you land most of your hits, and also that most normal enemies can take very little damage, but projectiles will sometimes be blocked, and certain enemies (which will "look tough" or something similar) can take quite a beating.
8. Give. Feedback. I need someone to let me know if I'm getting something wrong. I also encourage you to talk to other players about it, both to spread the word and share advice on playing the game!
9. When fighting bosses, be sure to specify where you are and what you're in the process of doing when your turn ends! All bosses' attacks will have a distinct wind-up, and I need to know if you're in the hitbox when the attack goes through. You can also 'que' movements, which will activate halfway through a boss' turn. This way, you can get extra hits in, avoid the second part of an attack, or be ready to suck in projectiles without sacrificing part of your turn! Use this well, and Challenge Mode will be a breeze.
