TIMELINE ..
01 . the introduction ; in this arc, we introduce characters. 100 doctors were sent out by the late king to find out more about the mysterious disease that plagues the kingdom, only five made it out alive. we are introduced to one of them at the royal hospital, doctor hitoshi, one of the 100. currently, three groups of characters are spread out -- group one : snow leopard doctor mayu, prince ( new king ) kazuma, gin, touya, 5 survivors -- ayumi , akane, shiori, tobi, genki ( livestock pet chicken: shuu ). at the hospital retrieving hitoshi's notes & finding out more about the undead and discovering the existence of mutants. group two : criminal death loving kiyoshi, six year old sayaka, werebeast eagle twins ( hinata & yukito ), dr. hitoshi, & makoto fighting against a mutant zombie form of gluttony. group three : a banquet where nobles and royals are invited, the main character, first princess hanae & the queen, fumiya .
02 . the reunion ; to put it bluntly, everyone from group 1 & 2 will reunite in the village where group 2 just finished battling gluttony. it should be peaceful there, enough for them to share their experiences together, and makes plans where to go from there. in this point of the plot, there is still peace, the spread of zombies have not yet gone far. mayu's also experiencing feverish symptoms given to her by the tongue mutant monster, and remains half-conscience most of the time. she says her home village is close here, she must see her mother. and, this is where mayu also tells the gang that if she turns, please kill her
03 . the love of a mother ; group 1 & 2 finally made it to the mayu's village, where her condition seems to be worse than before. she is in her mother's arms and care. her mother is an absolute sweetheart, cooking meals and being the best emotional support the team just needs right now. however, happy time doesn't last; in this arc, this is where tragedy brews and betrayals are seen. from group 2, the five survivors touya took with him are anxious with mayu's wounds. to be bluntly put, since mae can't play all five roles, only one will survive. mayu's mom, dead ( for the angst ). dr. hitoshi, dead. the old dude served his purpose.
04 . the corruption ; in this arc, we see the political build-up within the walls of the palace. with the new king, kazuma ( the prince from group 1 ) not present, missing the banquet for his coronation, the queen who's pregnant with the next king remains in power. nobles are siding with her. princess hanae is left fighting alone. the people are all starving. what's more, it is revealed that the late king is alive, he is chained within his bed chambers, eating young maids and other offers the queen is sending to him to satiate his hunger and keep him from rotting. the queen & noble knows about the zombies, keeping that information to themselves. the princess is starting to find out more about their dirty little secrets.
05 . the spread ; the pandemic that causes people to eat people have spread like wildfire, causing a great panic amongst the civilians. the crew from groups 1 & 2 continue to travel, north, making their way back to the capital .. where the queen & princess are at. this is where i imagine they take a boat to get there, but the thing is, there's a fight to who gets to be on because right now, the only safe place where no zombies is at the capital which is the richest city in the kingdom and the closest to the palace. during this time, many discoveries were made -- these creatures only come out at night. so, our crew could move more freely during the day and burn out any remaining undead. by this point, hanae finally knows the existence of zombies and is worried sick for her brother & friends.
06 . the return ; the boat was a no-go, so the crew had to take the longer route to get to hanae. but, on the boat, one passenger brought with them her undead son & by the time the boat arrived at the capital, it unleashed many horrors. the palace closed its gates, defending its borders. group 1 & 2 finally made it to the capital, but they once again separated. group 1 charged into the palace & group 2 remain protecting & saving any civilians they can get their hands on in the capital.
07 . the queen's regrets : at the palace, many things have happened. most of the corrupted nobles have died, even the queen's greedy father. he left a huge bite mark upon her arm. we learn of her past, she didn't use to be so selfish. she laments over the life she could've had if her lover hadn't been killed as she rubbed her belly, softly singing a lullaby to her unborn baby .. trying to escape from the chaos. also, everywhere was burning. the palace is on fire, group 1 would have a very nice tearful reunion with hanae if they weren't currently about to be barbecued and the previous undead king isn't trying to kill them all. both hanae & kazuma has their own regrets, their hesitant to kill their father is clear.
08 . the aftermath ; so many things happened in the last arc, they've lost so many. mayu's father gave up his life to save the entirety of group 1. he was left to deal with the previous king, killed together in the sea of flames. everyone is reunited together as they mourn for every one they lost. but, the world isn't that nice enough to let them have the time to recover. at this moment, they learn, the zombies aren't exactly sleeping during the day -- it's the temperature. from arc 1 - 8, it had been cold, snowy winter and finally, spring is coming. the warm weather is melting the snow little by little. and, within the forest, the queen gives birth to a new prince ; a new kind of mutant who would bring disaster to the world. and, the baby is under the care of one of the five survivors touya had saved during arc one, ayumi.
09 . the spider ; the clue to the flower which might be the cure is southwest yatama. however, everyone is exhausted. filled with fatigue from all the running and the killing. whether it be day or night, zombies come at them in all directions. during this time, sayaka wanders off while everyone sleeps, she wanted to help everyone by gathering food, so they could eat first thing in the morning. however, she never came back. within the cave, a mutant lives, taking a form of a spider. many villagers were seen wrapped in its web, one of them was sayaka. it had a lusting appetite that preys on young girls and children. one by one the team members got kidnapped; before you know it, hanae and mayu are next.
10 . the village of lantern ; the boys are left in a chaotic state searching for the missing girls in their group, only to encounter another group doing the same. they are travelers who wish to gain access into the village of lanterns, where rumors have it, is now a safe haven. meanwhile, in the cave, mayu & hanae cook up a plan together to take down the spider mutant and make their escape. out of all the mutants, they've met, this spider still has most of its cognitive skills.
11 . the peace ; the event of the spider's mutant is over, the thing was brutally killed by the hands of the princess and mayu, the two female bonded and formed a special friendship. the girls trapped there were also rescued, and everyone is reunited with one another. more information about the village of the lantern is spilled and when they got there, everyone was left in surprise -- the rumors, were all true. the village welcomed the new-comers with open arms. a festival, one that was bright and loud .. one that was unusual during this dangerous time .. one that should've attracted zombies .. was being celebrated. the girls are elastic they can finally bathe in peace and cleanse themselves. and, the boys are within the crowd drinking and bonding with the villagers. they all eventually met up together, lay upon the grasses, gazing at the stars talking about the future, the what-ifs, and thoughts about the afterlife.
12 . the sacrifice ; trouble brews once more. the village of lanterns isn't all peaceful as it appeared. the happiness in their eyes, the smiles they show were just cover. deep down the villagers had deeper darkness and fear. the reason why they are able to maintain their peace is through the offering to give to a demon daily. this time, they were blessed with newcomers.
