Kind of a Rant... Sorry...

LavenderRain

I like kitties.
Ok. I have one problem I've encountered a few times now. I find a COMPLETELY FANTASTIC rp and everyone in the rp is super excited about it, but the GM does not have time to move it along at the speed that their own rules say it should move at.

Anyone else think this is completely and totally annoying?

That is indeed a common phenomenon. Sometimes real life or just wanting to give up comes into play. A remedy is to pass the buck. If the GM can no longer follow the rules, pass it on to a more able replacement.

I completely agree. I've been guilty of it myself on occasion. Unfortunately it couldn't be helped, but fortunately the people I've RP'd with had just carried on anyway and left it open enough for me to get back into it.

I would love if this was actually what people did. However, they don't.

I can also see how this could be hard. From everything I have seen, there isn't a way to turn over a thread to someone else.

I think that some people just get really excited for their idea, and then get overwhelmed with people cause they didn't really think the responsibility through. Not justifying it, but that's usually the process. It's very circumstantial, but another huge turn off is when no one bothered to read the rules/overview/etc and you have to keep reminding them. Once in a while though, GM's can just be rather rude and disappear. Sorry you've had to put up with that!

It's often simpler for the GM to break his/her own toys so nobody gets to play with them. The hard part comes in with finding people that can be trusted with the original. Being a GM entails responsibility and working with others.

I do, despite it happening to me often. I GM several threads, but my schedule just gets out of hand. I`d like to get it out there that I hate it too, not only because I feel guilty, but also because if I created the roleplay, I WANT to rp it too.

I did everything in my power to let the rp go on while I was gonne, though.
