This act of disrespect infuriated the bear, people didn't treat KMs as their equal, he followed the woman, not thinking that she might spot him if they reached a clearing. He wanted to help the guy out, but he also wanted to see why she seemed so familiar, the hairs on his neck rising, accompanied by the low growling crawling out of his throat. His belt clinked quietly as he began to crouch, getting down on all fours and sinking into the grass as the height of the sea of leaves seemed to have risen towards the sun, his eyes and ears turned, visible over the top of the blades as he followed the strangely familiar researcher. He then smelled someone else, along with the faint scents of other KMs and even more faint, blood. Kumbara looked around, none of these things were within his sight.

The two were glaring and growling each other, neither one moving. As the cat put her stick inside another stick, Bloodsong continued to snarl at her. Was she giving up? Did she realise that this was his doe and he wouldn't let her get it? It seemed that way, even with her strange mouth noises and exploding spider silk... she must realise he was a strong opponent that wasn't going to back down. He stopped his growing and still watching her, stepped back and began to drag the doe away from her.

Nora made no move at him. Just snapped one last time before standing strait. She sighed, preparing to do something she hate the most in the world. She got down to all four's, bending so that her head was close to the ground. She had small shorts on so her tail stuck up like a skyscraper, the end twitching and flicking.

Good, she was submitting to him which meant (to him at least) she recognised him as the dominant and strongest in this situation. He kept his gaze on her as he kept walking backwards, dragging his prize along with him, waiting until she was out of sight before he turned and continued on his way home.

Nora sighed and walked towards her home. She was close to the city, but she dared not go in there. She still remembered what it was like to visit that little Deli on the corner. She remembered the great food, the smiles, it was the only place in town she loved. But she couldn't go back, not anymore. But how she wished that she could.

Mai took a breath, dropping to the ground with the sleeping body, unable to walk more than halfway back to her cabin with her added catch. "Ahn! So out of shape..." the girl groaned stretching her arms as she got back to her feet, sprawling the bat KM out across his back in the grass "...I guess that's what I get for skipping out on training exercises." Mai laughed, leaning herself against a tree to relax a bit in the cool shade that spotted the ground. Though she seemed slender- Mai was horrid at keeping up with anything health related. Often being too preoccupied or stressed to eat everyday, exercise, or sleep, the only way she was still standing right now was with a high dosage of vitamins assigned by an extremely irritated facility doctor.

A slight movement across her line of sight caused her to pause, she could feel eyes staring from somewhere near. The scientist fixed her glasses as she saw a pair of brown ears peering out from the tall grass. "Oh, how interesting...it looks like I have a visitor." Mai grinned, since the creature was crouched in his hiding place- it didn't seem as threatening since it looked small crouched down, even with it's low growl that gurgled in it's throat. With a swift movement she gripped the obsidian rifle in her hands, shooting a warning shot of tranquilizers above it's head to startle the creature away; thinking that it may have been stalking the fallen 'prey' she had just acquired.

The grizzly rose up slightly, flinching at the gunshot before the bear charged at the girl, quickly reaching her and once he got within reaching distance, he quickly rose to his full 6'7", purely out of instinct he roared at the girl, large canines bared as he failed to notice the tear in the lower half of his shirt, the loose cloth fluttering in the wind. When he tried to speak all that came out was a mangled mixture of roars, snorts, and snarls, his sudden animalistic aggression not seizing as he looked into the girl's eyes, he knew those eyes. This girl was the child of one of the scientists that he'd encountered after his mother was killed, he'd seen her multiple times and had mixed feelings about her, she was a chaotic neutral, not really good or bad. He still didn't like her father or that she disrespected KMs.

Mai Hinawo

The violet haired girl seemed a bit surprised, finding the tiny animal hiding in the brush to be a looming giant of a KM, spiting and incomprehensible jumble of furied sounds. The sudden charge didn't seem to surprising to the young scientist though- it was merely a wild beast, nothing more to her.

Even though most would be running at this moment, Mai smiled in sudden excitement at the sight of the snarling Kemonomimi who was close to 2 feet taller than herself. "Ah!! Look at those sharp teeth! It's build! It's language! What a nice specimen !!" she fixes her glasses as she blinked her bright green eyes excitedly, taking out the Phoenix feather to burn more entries into the leather journal.

Sudden aggression from a KM, feral it seems, Un kept but clothed. An oddity, bear KMs are not common around this area....

With a quick snap she closed the journal and tucked it into the pocket hanging from a large belt, taking a defensive stance infront of the bat-boy. With her chest puffed up and confident she tried to intimidate it back, gripping the gun in her hands as she shot red-tailed darts at his feet to push him back a bit- the girl felt an odd sense of de-ja vu cast over herself as she did this...why so?

Mad Hatter's Rabbit, Bernard

Bernard frowned, his right ear still twitching. He had run into people with guns while traveling around, and had once shot a small pistol before, so he could learn to protect himself when the situation ever arose. But the loud sound they made always made his heart speed up, the pace of it going to insane speeds. But his face remained mostly calm, aside from the worry etched on his forehead. He fiddled with the string of his eyepatch, the thick, black material close to the color of his ears, only a little lighter. "No, Mister Nicholas prefers I keep myself away from harm. But, as you can see..." He pointed at his eyepatch, the criss-cross design on it bright red. "I was unsuccessful there. One stray bucket, and you become half-blind." He flicked another deck of cards out, and began to restlessly shuffle them. It might have been just a hunter, but he had heard of hunter's that hunted Kemonomimi's before. He didn't want to meet one now.

Kumbara stumbled backwards, "Dammit!" He spat, growling as he looked back up, green eyes narrowing at the girl as a snort pushed through his nose and he planted his feet firmly into the Earth. His fingers twitched, black nails still sharp due to his rush out the door to work earlier in the day. Once more a roar escaped him, his tiny tail twitching, "Don't you recognize me, Hinawo?" He snapped, purposely bumping her with his shoulder as he ran past with the intention of knocking her down. "Or do you scientists forget your test subjects when you're done torturing them?" He spat as he glanced over at the bat boy, turning swiftly to see if she'd fallen.

Mark the "Bat Man"

(See what i did there
xD )

Mark would slowli open his eye and see nothing only pure white as blinde and get shot by a few Tranq. Shots really bad,as he would turn his head around as he is still on the ground moving his head only but his vision is pure white nothing else,as he will hear sounds as they bounce around using Equo location as he "Sees" 2 Figures 1 seems Normal size and the other seems way large and lots of trees,as he would make a click sound with his mouth too maintain his "vision",as he would lay on the floor acting dead or still asleep and breathing silently as he dint what too be notice.

(It looks somthing like this for bats wen they use sound too see)

batman-sonar.png

Stripe the fruit bat

Stripe hides under Ina,s hair and staying close too her neck scared of the shot as his Ears made it VERY loud and scared him very badly,as he would make few soft chirps meaning he is scared and especially wen Mark was not around with him but he had Ina,as he would see would look at the man somtimes trying too figure out wha was that Shot,But aswell he was calm mostly as he was with 2 people....things of his Size end up as Salades for Biger Birds.

"We are here." the head butler or whatever his title was said. It wasn't exactly needed, the giant mansion styled like a castle was hard to miss. It's towers seemed to scrap the sky and the low wall seemed massive. The road through the gate, and Conner was uncerimoniasly tossed out with his bags, told where he would be staying and where he will serve.

Ina Tiran-The White Dog

Ina blinked at the eye patch the Bernard wore, she hadn't realized that it was real till now. As an actor and a magician, her first assumption was that it was a curious prop, but that didn't seem to be the case. "You poor thing...she muttered in pity, touching the fresh bandages that wrapped around her right eye "...We're the same... ...but I...I lost mine because I was tricked..." Ina sighed with a sheepish tone, shifting uncomfortably at the thought since it had happened only recently. A sudden line of rifle blasts made the girl shudder, flattening her ears at the noise. With a swift movement the girl scurried to Bernard's side, flattening her ears in worry. There were no bells or sirens to indicate a crime...nor was it hunting season yet. It was hard to imagine what could be going on in the forest, if someone had gotten hurt -or worse. Ina clung onto his sleeve, looking much like a startled pup after hearing thunder for the first time.

Mai Hinawo- The Chaotic Neutral

The violet haired girl tumbled back as the large KM charged, causing her to stumble and land on her butt. Sitting with the large black rifle in her lap, she started back at the man, his roar into words "How amazing it spoke!" She exclaimed in utter excitement despite his anger. She began adjusting her glasses as she took a closer look at him, not noticing the bat KM stirring slightly. "...Hm...that aggression is familiar......" Mai muttered in thought, trying recall anything more from her first few field expeditions, it was a hazy memory but she could remember a few details. The event in Yosemite didn't seem to stand out to her since many more ...experiments have been done since then. "The only bear KM I can recall is that rabid one papa shot....oh...but I think I remember a cub just a little older than me at the time..." She laughed at the thought, the bear seemed so riled up, this behavior was an interesting one to witness- an animal able to be angered by the past. "Your growth is exponential! I do remember you now. Your family gave us a great stride in science of KMs, internal body structures, bone analysis, organ comparisons and all." Mai said calmly to him, as if it were a compliment or a type of honor to give.

Mad Hatter's Rabbit, Bernard

Bernard watched as Ina clung to him, crumpling his sleeve up. He would have to get it ironed later, before their show began. His extravagant maroon coat had been a gift from Nicholas after Bernards first show, and he always wore it. He would have asked her to let go, but she seemed to be more distressed than he, so he kept his tongue on the sentence. "I don't mind missing an eye. In fact, it gives off an air of mystery and intrigue. And I've adapted, my hearing better on my right side to compensate for my lack of eyesight." He smiled slightly. "To say, though, a magician with one eye is somewhat better looking than one without. At least Miss Clair says so." He rubbed his eyepatch, and then looked down at the canine girl. "What say you? See what the commotion is? Or keep our distance? I'm fast on my feet, and you don't look to terribly heavy for me to lift up, so if something bad happens, I could get you out of there. Or the person who is apparently being hunted."

Stripe the bat

as he sudently hears Gun fire he hugs Ina,s Neck in fear and Chirping multiple times and noticing that both of them had a missing eye or similer as the firts thought that comes too his minde that there Best Friends or somthing alonge the lines,But the shots scared him alot.

Mark

as mark notice that she was distracted he would take a deep breath and spring up and make a run for it and run as fast as he can,as he could fly but his wings were alseep and hurt,as he runs like never befor and would look back as he runs and hoping that girl dosent chase him as she was freaking crazy, aswell as he runs he makes click noices so he can "See" and aswell he still hace minor effects of the Sleep darts but he dint care he needed too get out of here!

The bear felt sweat drip down his back and looked up towards the sun to see that it was inching closer to the point above his head, it was going to heat up, and in this field of grass it might bring out the snakes that reside within the tall, leafy blades that were crushed beneath his feet. Snakes, he hated snakes, but he hated scientists so much more, he'd have to stay if Mai didn't back down. "My family?! I don't have a family anym0re, not after your 'papa' murdered my mother... You sick, disgusting person." He was snarling and growling, but his rage didn't seem to affect her at all, "You people knew what you did was illegal, shooting protected species, and you're still doing it?" He watched as the bat began to run, though in his eyes he looked like a little drunk, no doubt that this was because of those sleep darts that still seemed to cling to the bat man's body. Heh, the Batman, the species she wants to study but not the one Mai can get right now. "My mother wasn't rabid, either, what do you expect a mother bear to do when she's being attacked by humans with guns?! And with a cub! Or did your father tell you that so you wouldn't get cold feet and start torturing KMs?" His lip curled slightly as he snarled once more, "You still do everything he says, don't you? You're still that hopeless little girl, eh? Still having your worthless experiments? That's right, I remember every one of your failures, I did watch you grow up, after all." He chuckled, "And what a fool I was, thinking you were different... But here you are, you look just like your father, out here, taking KMs from their habitats... Tch, I hope you read the sign on the fence on the way in." Yes, he had a personal hatred for the girl, but he knew he could do one of three things, it all depended on her next response. Kumbara watched her, ready to give chase if she tried to go after the bat, as said earlier, this was personal.

Ina Tiran

Ina turned her head a little to give a kiss on the bat's head to calm it down. "Shhhii shhhiii..." She cooed quietly, scratching his wing with a gentle finger. Her weary eyes glanced up at the rabbit, focusing on his ears for a moment. It seemed fitting for a rabbit to be fast, he almost reminded her of the quick white rabbit with a clock and a suit...though that one from the story in particular wasn't a magician, it still seemed as well dressed as him. "...I...I...want to check...that no got hurt..." Ina stuttered softly, at ease next to the KM. Forests were dangerous places to be alone in- unlike her icy range in Baikal where few creatures thrived, lands in this area were filled with unexpected life...even wild KMs. Normally her 'big brother' Mark would be at her side after a sudden event like this, but she didn't hear the familiar beat of his large wings. It seemed too odd. Ina tightened her lips in a sudden sense of fear "...W-Why do you say...a p-person is being hunted?" The girl asked, her silvery hair concealing the tiny bat.

Mai Hinawo

Mai swiped at her bare legs as the sharp edges of the high grasses skimmed at her skin. The girl paused for a moment as she listened to his words, seeming hurt "...Disgusting?" She asked with a confused tone, turning her head quickly as the shadow of the bat began running fast. With a calm chuckle she gripped the rifle with one arm, pulling the trigger three times as the last two tranquilizers struck it's target at the back of the KM's legs. A non-chalant move as she rose to her feet, brushing off her shorts "Ow....that hurt you know Mr. Bear?" She frowned "Since the government is the director of our operations...our actions are not considered illegal, how exactly do you think I got here?" Mai put her hands on her hips, trying to think. The creature definitely seemed agitated..."The government allowed us to study and take DNA from your species so we can breed a new in the future...since Grizzly KMs are so dangerous, it would be no surprise that they would have gone extinct due to constant attacks on humans. " Mai tilted her head side to side as she searched for more darts in her belt satchel. "Acepromine...hm...they should have given me stronger tranquilizers..." She sighed, a bit side tracked. "Besides. My father doesn't lie...he would never lie about something like that...he's only a great man who does great things for the world...." The scientist seemed adamant on defending her father, despite of the lack of information she had on the Yosemite trip since was only a young girl then. "And don't call me a hopeless little girl! So mean...I'm just doing my job.......and I don't know what you're talking about...watching me grow up...even though I've had a couple of failures here and there...just look at what those failures taught me. All the success from then on." The scientist turned on her heel and began after the groggy Bat KM, striding quickly through grasses to catch him.

Tony was high in a tree, watching Mai curiously, with glaring golden eyes. As she moved so did he, fluttering from branch to branch. He'd been flying when he had noticed her, and had been unnoticed since. Whilst he wanted to help the other KM, he didn't want to get caught again, and so he stayed hidden, following her. The wolf avian KM used his hawk like eyesight and his wolf like hearing and nose, to keep an eye open For any trouble, growling lowly at himself

Mark the bat man

As Mark runs he feels 2 Shots on hi leg as he would woble a little bit as he runs and fall but he was catch bY Mai,as he would not fall asleep do too the adrenalin that he had wen Running but he cant move any of his limbs or body as he is paralies because of all that sleep dart Poison,as his adrenalin kept him awake breeathing deeply in fear as he wonders what is going too happen, aswell it was making him harde too breath all that poison as his Muscels were weakend and slow his breath,as he would try too move or speak but the only thing he could do is move his eyes and breath. As he was worrid of Ina hoping she did not ended as he is now.

Stripes the Fruit bat

As stripes is scared he feels and hears Ina calming him down and wen he reseavs the Kiss his swirly sheecs go slightly red and he being scrach he gives a happy Chirp and would rub his head agains her Finger as she scraches him as he feels much safer now with her and happy too be with sombody he knows....as he wonder were is mark?as he shoold have come finde him now,as he was a little worrid because of that but he must be alright he is smart and he must be looking for him right now......Right?

"As an officer of law enforcement I happen to know that the so-called 'exceptions' once in place for researchers were terminated a year before y0u people killed my mother, Ms. Lawbreaker." He said, but still, she moved on, "There is no such allowance in these woods, that's why so many KMs live here, they are protected beings and I refuse to back down." He swung his muscular arm out, curved claws hooking into her shirt, "No matter what you learned from your failures, you're just as much of a fool as I remember... Ignoring boundaries put in place by the government." It was as if this girl was doing everything she could to make herself worse than her father, with a tight grip on her shirt he pulled her back with one swift pull of his strong arm, he cared not for her well-being, in fact, Kumbara would be delighted if she would be injured and back off soon.

Mad Hatter's Rabbit, Bernard

Bernard shrugged. "Well, if you think about it, why else would someone be firing a gun in a forest? I don't think they are shooting trees. Three in rapid succession, which means the hunter was shooting something." He straightened the tie in his coat and adjusted his eyepatch slightly. "Well, if you want to go check it out, then let's. I am not busy, aside from being waited on to return some firestarter back to Mister Nicholas." He patted the pouch on his belt, and then held his hand out to Ina. "Shall we, Miss Ina?" His ears twitched again, trying to see if he could pick up any more sounds to pick up the location of where the bullet's had been fired from.

One...Two...three...and then two more shots.

A grim frown came upon Lovayna's face. She growled and stopped in her tracks. She closed her eyes to focus on her ears. She could barely pick up the last vibrations of the gunshots but they were enough to detect the location. A few fifty meters away was where the hunter was. Her eyes opened and looked up in search of something. The shadow of a crow was in her sight.

I'm sorry but I must help that creature.

She sprinted a few yards back from the direction she came from, confusing the crow. Neatly she jumped up underneath the bird and grabbed its beak plunging the thing into the ground. It gave out a low croak as its eye color fades. Love spat at the crow and saw it was a machine inside.

Figures he would send a flying camera after me. Now onto other matters.

She began running in the direction where the shots were fired.

I can't believe I'm doing this. I don't even know this KM. But it would be letting the humans win if I don't help. Don't let the same thing happen to that Km that happened to your family.

A conflict of thoughts and emotions occurred in Love's heart. Her heart was telling her that in a way this could be a payback for her family but in her mind it wasn't. It was a waste of time.

Love soon arrived at the site. It was a tiny open field with trees at the edge. She spotted a human, the hunter, in a fight between a bear KM. Love sought for the hunted KM since from observation she can tell that the bear was not the one in danger. She soon saw a bat KM at the edge of the woods. His body sprawled from what seemed like an attempted escape.

Love quickly masked her presence from the hunter. It was easier to mask her presence from humans rather than KMs and animals. She knew that if the human focused close enough she will be detected. Love sprinted to the bat staying inside the woods. She made sure not to step on dead leaves or twigs as she ran. Soon she was close to the bat but didn't approach him right away. Love's eyes saw another KM in the branches of a tree.

Perhaps he can help. The bat KM will be too heavy for me to carry by myself. And I need to get done with this quickly.

Love quietly approached the tree. She boosted herself onto the tree and scrambled up the tree landing on the branch underneath the KM in the tree.

@WolfOfProphecys

It was that smell from earlier, blood and beast intermingling in the scent of a single being, partially human, though also beast, a KM was near. His ears moved ever so slightly to catch the light sound of footsteps, and the even more faint sound of beating wings, feathers rustling in the wind. In what was only a few seconds he gathered information, one canid, likely having contact with humans and the blood of animals, another canid, but this one also had the scent of an avian creature, he also smelled the bat, the faint scent of the chemicals the tranquilizing darts injected into his body reaching him as well as the distant sense of panic, most likely the bat, whose adrenaline and quickly flowing blood would only make the sleeping poison more affective. The bear's nose twitched and his veins pulsed, within this time of observation his heart was so loud it was as if it were beating in his ears, nearly drowning everything else out before he successfully focused on Mai, the scientist. She had the scent of KMs, animals, humans, and chemicals on her skin and bleach on her clothing, though he couldn't ignore the burning scent of a phoenix's inferno, which mingled with paper from a mixture of trees, oak, willow, and pine, treated with a chemical and plagued with the dying scent of metal and drying ink. What was the next move, would she submit or fight, were these KMs friends or foes, how long would the bat boy go before his inevitable slumber? Only time would tell, and as he was pulled from his thoughts he watched the world begin to speed up once more, his questions would soon have their answers revealed... Soon...

Mai Hinawo

In the middle of her sprint, a sudden force caught her from behind. "Hey...what...what are you doing?? He's going to get away..." Mai sighed, flailing her arms wildly as her catch collapsed a distance away- the girl began trying even harder to escape from his strong arms. "Let go letgolet go you're ripping my top!" The scientist huffed as she pulled down the front of her canvas half-top irritably. Gripping the metal of the rifle with one hand, she pressed the barrel to the bear's cheek. "Exceptions are nothing when we have permission..father said so himself...An officer is nothing compared to government itself....Mr. Bear" She grinned , poking the metal against his face in an attempt to threaten him- hoping he hadn't realized that she had just used the last of her loaded ammo. "...I'm quite sorry that my people killed your mother...but I on the other hand have no intention on executing such fine specimens...I just wanted to take a few samples. I believe you can learn much more from a creature when it's alive." As she continued to hold the weapon against his cheek, her other hand tugged at his thick claws in a vain attempt to advance her chase. It was a surprise to Hinawo that the KM hadn't slaughtered her yet, especially since that she had taken part in the murder of his mother. Was he holding back? Could it be possible for a wild creature to resist the urge of rage? "If you're going to kill me...just kill me now, I don't have time to waste." Mai said quickly, closing her eyes. Taught never to fear the that of death, especially while doing the job one loved.

(posting on phone, have to separate character posts or my phone will glitch at the length)

"Is that what you think I want to do? I have morals, unlike some people I happen to know of." He grew silent, hoping the other KMs he could smell were going to help the bat escape before Mai could do anything. "Besides, I know what humans do when they fear something, I remember what happened to my people, even though you people knew why grizzlies were aggressive... After a couple of encounters your people started hunting the grizzlies, where are they now, Hinawo. With your father? No, they are all buried, buried along with the other extinct KMs, deemed 'Too dangerous'." Kumbara forced the girl to look at him, "And believe it or not, this so-called 'permission' your father speaks of, it exists for no one person, no one organization. The only permission you people have past that fence, from the government, is permission to observe. Don't think I'm trying to say I'm above the government, what I'm saying is that the government is above you and my job is to enforce laws put in place by the government, so in this situation, whether you like it or not, I am above you. Both in government and in strength." He pushed the gun away from his face, "Even if your gun was loaded, your words tell me you wouldn't have the means to injure me. Now, would you please just cooperate?!" His methods may seem rather unlawful, but he knew what he was talking about and though he had a hatred for the scientific community he wouldn't hurt the girl without cause, this was simple restraint so that she couldn't carry on with her misguided practice. She obviously didn't know as much as she thought she knew, KMs could cooperate, but humans never really gave up on what they believed once something was in their mind, maybe she'd stop fighting and take a moment to consider his words, either way he was informed and honest by nature. A predator had to be observant, thoughtful, quick, it was instinctual for Kumbara to take into account his surroundings as well as the girls reactions and verbal responses, and from what he'd seen so far she was stubborn and misinformed.
