Local Furry Goes 'Awoo'

In the populated city of Tokyo, a meteorite crashed down into the backstreets of the city at midnight behind a low-income Takoyaki stand. The meteorite, discovered and reported by a resident of the city, was discovered to contain a special metal alloy charged with a strange Cosmic energy of sorts upon testing. When left overnight in a secure Military facility, the alloy was discovered to have changed shape into twenty-one Door Keys, each emblazoned with a symbol indicative of something. What the symbols indicate or what the purpose of the keys are remained unknown at the time.
WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON. 2014, APRIL 12th. 13:00.
Two years after the discovery of the meteorite keys, a strange occurrence took place in Willamette Valley, Oregon. Long-time Oregon resident, Charles McKinney, took to the streets of Corvallis and proceeded to cause panic among the residents of the city by destroying anything within his path. When local law enforcement attempted to engage Mr. McKinney, his skin had reportedly shed and revealed a crustacean-like exoskeleton akin to that of a Mantis Shrimp. Mr. McKinney, or what was left of him, was taken down with lethal force, but not before he stated his last words from beneath the exoskeleton. He spoke of the meteorite from two years prior and a violent species from beyond the stars in search of the meteor. Upon an examination of Mr. McKinney's deceased body, a military specialist found that he was a member of this race dubbed the "Taro." by a high-ranking Military commander.

In an attempt to combat a supposed upcoming invasion of the Taro species, a private R&D company funded by the United Nations was formed under the name "TARO/BUSTER". The company began developing a series of waist-mounted Exosuit technologies that are powered by the Keys from the meteorite. This technology, known as the Arcana Driver, was produced with Nineteen units in circulation to be used by the most qualified military soldiers in service. On August 17th, the Arcana Drivers were complete and to be used by a squadron of nineteen elite soldiers.
Some time on January 2nd, a staggeringly large number of the Arcana Drivers were found to be missing from their high-security holding areas. The military branch to defeat the Taro was split. One half of them were devoted to finding the missing Drivers while the others used what little time they had to prepare to fight the alien race.
