I edited my profile fixing some of the problems you pointed out. We'll just call him Ben instead of BB, but he'll still be my heroic salute to the greatest King - may he rest in peace.

Well, I do love the name. And very much agreed, he's one of THE greats.


I know the whole music scandal idea might be a little cliche, but it was just too good to pass up. It starts him with enemies from the get go even in his secret ID. If that feels TOO wrong, we can still have the drummer dead and have someone else holding his music. Just let me know. This scenario assumes the possibility that the Drummer may have had him killed (not necessarily doing the job himself). The fact that Ben is alive is gonna freak SOMEone out.

Well, bumped the recruitment thread.


Nothing says everyone has to start together or even at the same time. This is a city with issues. Each character is likely to have personal problems. Your character is a prime example. The NPC's I have listed may well get involved with them - especially the CSI guy. He is the sort who will start connecting the events and take an interest.

So what's the plan then, is he coming to meet Ben as he wakes up in the hospital? Or later?

Probably later. I was going to let him look in on his music. I get the impression you might actually like the whole drummer getting too big for his britches and selling out to the mob - even to the point of selling you out. He would now have a recording studio and have used your money to jump start a small music business and is trying to recruit new talent (probably screwing them over in the contracts if not outright buying out their lyrics).


I also have in mind some new talent for him to try to take advantage of ... though they are small time and are just trying to get gigs where they can. Hint: this band will have an awesome sound (celtic style to it). But without a manager and paying the piper - so to speak - they are having trouble finding decent gigs.


The CSI guy has no legal reason to bug BB. After all, he is just CSI, not a detective. Think lab rat, though he does go into the field to crime scenes.


There IS a superpowered character that will eventually look BB up. (Yeah, even I use the name BB. Gotta admit, it sounds great.)


I don't even know if the drummer was a guy, but I assumed so. Just felt like it was. I was just waiting to see what you preferred for all this. (I also have a possible drummer for him to meet eventually ... completely unskilled.)


Was just laying down to sleep. Had a long work day and have to be up in 6 hours to drive.

Well, %$^# ... I got sidetracked and very honestly forgot to work on something here today. That is NOT like me at all. In fact is usually my pet peeve about others. If you get a chance, let me know about where you want to start? If you don't get a chance I'll just wing it and figure something out. I was honestly hoping we'd get more people joining us.

Alright. This RP is a departure from my usual. I normally make a group that starts together and do an intro post to kick it off. This RP has characters all trying to get a handle on their new lives at the start - with a mechanism in place to get them together later. It allows new members to join more easily.

WB ... take a look at the Gotham edits ... I edited the origins some as well. Kinda cleaned up the repetitive stuff. If it looks okay, let me know and I'll get the intro post for her out. That background starts her in another place than a hospital.

Yeah, sorry if I seemed a little harsh or wrote too much, I wanted to try and help a bit, though clearly you didn't need it!


Ben doesn't really have a clue what's going on with Dumasi or Starlynn, so I think I'll just have him keep jamming. Will security come and stop the show? Or can he just jam until Mace sends some guys over to kill him, haha?

Oh no worries. My skin is a lot thicker than that. I've been GMing rpg's since 1980 if that gives you an idea.


BB ought to at least hear Starlyn singing along. His hearing is THAT good. And he might pick up the conversation by the thug on the cell phone. (He is from southern Africa by his accent, probably Zimbabwe. I tend to use that area as one of my favorite chem professors was from there. I was the only one that ever used his full name consistently and correctly.)


As you might guess Starlyn has medical expertise. She's doing black market surgery on wounds for these guys. Good way for her to lose her license. It would look pretty odd to follow her, even odder to catch her at work as there will probably be other goons. But you might catch her on her way out ... or later on.

I'll throw the bone back to you with what you want happening. If nothing crazy happens, Ben will play his encore and leave, maybe catch Starlyn finishing her surgery. I doubt Mace would send goons right away, and honestly, I want Christian as far away from them as he can get, I like him a bit too much now for him to get shot. D:
