He was first discovered wandering naked in Albuquerque, NM staggering across Alameda Blvd at about 0200 on Saturday June 21, 2025. Now the good news is that there was a hospital - United Healthcare - just across the highway. And as it was in the wee hours he managed not to get hit by a car. He did, however, collapse there. An approaching car had seen him and stopped in time.
He had no ID. His fingerprints weren’t on file. Noone could figure out who he was. The hospital determined that he was malnourished - though not chronically. His body was covered with scars - from stab and gunshot wounds - as well as whip marks over his whole back. Those were old wounds - at least several years old. He also had suffered very recent electrical burns in spots over his whole body.
And so he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. When he awoke he had no idea who he was. He didn’t like the name John Doe. That was for a dead person. John Smith also sounded plain. He ended up choosing a more unique name - Jonathan Rhand. Now for the really odd thing. They tried to run an MRE on him and the machine blew up, arced and nearly killed him. Noone knows why. The MRE was utterly destroyed, physically torn apart.
The hospital will treat him. But they will only do so much. He isn't eligible for health insurance, can't pay rent or get a driver's license. He can't get a job or apply for unemployment benefits. He appears to be in his mid to late 20’s. He didn't like the name John Doe and changed it to something that sounded more personalized.
Your Character
You are an FBI Special Agent recently assigned to the local office in Albuquerque, NM. Your career has been on a fast track as you showed early promise and found yourself assigned to one case after another. There was a massive power outage that began shortly before he was discovered. The epicenter of the outage was just south of there. The case has fallen to the FBI as the outage may have been due to an EMP type weapon.

Agents Murphy and Hastings (Mike and Ike are just what Jonathan will nickname them). These are the guard detail that will eventually be assigned to him.

Setting and Plot
Obviously the RP begins in Albuquerque. That’s where he was found. The story will begin with our patient at the hospital as the effort to determine his past continues and he tries to remember who he was.

There IS a fingerprint file that will match his, as well as DNA … to a kid who died back on Jul 31, 2015. John Doe’s scars match the injuries of the boy. It appears to have been a gang related event. His mother and twin half brothers, age 7, were also killed. His stepfather had been in prison for child abuse and abandonment. He was killed in a prison fight some months later. His step sister had been sent to a foster home.
