history ✯ Jessie Bell was raised by her single father in Austin, Texas. Her mother left her family when Jessie was born, but Jessie was never angry by this. She always believed that her mother just needed some space and she'd return to her family some day. In the meantime, her father raised Jessie the best way he could and Jessie loved him to pieces. Jessie's father was a well-known bull rider and was paid well so money wasn't an issue for the family. Jessie's father often took his daughter to his show which started her love for the sport. At a young age she began practicing bull riding with her father and his manger, Pete. Pete was a nice guy who often hung around Jessie and her dad. He was always over, had adult meetings with her dad in his bedroom, and if they weren't in her home, they were out on business dinners. Jessie had accumulated to Pete being around and saw him almost like a big brother figure.

However, that all changed one day when Pete and Jessie's father came home to announce they were going to have a Jess day. They said they were going to spend an entire day with Jessie and tell her some extra special news. Jessie was excited for this and the day went smoothly. The trio got ice cream, Jessie rode her first bull, they had a lasso contest that Jess totally won, and ended it off with riding horses in the sunset. Jessie had the best day of her life! She ended up learning a ton about Pete, like how he never rode a horse before because he ended up riding with her dad and was holding him rather tightly. Also, she gave him the nickname Stinky Pete because his favorite ice cream was cheesecake ice cream and it smelled stinky to Jess. Thus the name. After it was all said and done, the trio returned home and Jessie awaited the extra special news. After getting settled down, her father announced that Pete and him were dating. That was the first and hopefully last time, Jessie ever fainted.

When she came to, she was not happy. The 'adult' meetings, the 'business' dinners, all started to make sense to her and she concluded that Pete dang well knew how to ride a horse. Jessie yelled and screamed, she couldn't believe her father just gave up on her mother and replaced her with another man! Jessie's dad tried to calm her down and explain how her mom wasn't coming back but Jessie wasn't having it. She ran off and jumped on her horse, riding far, far away from her home. As she rode, Jessie thought long and hard on the situation at hand. Stinky wasn't a terrible person and he did make her dad happy. Alas, letting go of her mother was proving to be a challenge. Jessie eventually rode back home and explained her feelings to the couple. They understood completely and decided to take it one day at a time until she felt comfortable with the new arrangements.

Years passed by and Jessie's life was A-Okay again. She accepted Pete as her new Papa and was a happy bridesmaid at his and her father's wedding. Ultimately, it was time for her to be shipped off to college and make her parents proud! Granted she wanted to be a bull rider and leave it at that, but her papa thought it be best to at least have a back up plan in case bull riding doesn't work out. A year has passed since Jessie started her college adventure, tackling the books and yodeling along the way.
