Welcome to JANKEN Fever!
JANKEN Fever is a new twist to Rock/Paper/Scissors, a game that is easy to pick-up and play and is about for anyone. Two players will have an amount of health and the end goal is to deal damage so that their health goes down to 0.
How does one deal damage you may ask?A player selects one of three attacks which go into the category of Rock/Paper/Scissors. These attacks generally deal damage towards an opponent. Whoever wins an attack (I.E someone chooses Rock over Paper) will deal full damage. The loser only deals half damage. Ties result in both players dealing 1/4 of their damage output.
What about a tie?If it's a tie then a chain will occur. As with Rock/Paper/Scissors, both players keep going till there is a clear winner. With each subsequent chain, both players gain +1 SP. This SP is used for activating skills.
Chain: When both players engage in a tie, a chain occurs. Not only will the turn go back to Standby Phase, but both players receive +1 SP. Damage done by both is only 1/4. This is a very fundamental yet highly important mechanic. Know it and use it well.
Ability: Each player uses one ability to use in a Janken Battle. Abilities are similar to skills but do not require SP. It is offset with a cost and/or cooldown.
Skills: A player comes with a certain amount of skills. These skills can either be passive or active. Generally active skills cost SP to use though some passive may cost SP.
Attacks: These are your attacks in the form of Rock/Paper/Scissors. Attacks come in three forms which are gauged in power. Ex: Fire! Big Fire! Hell Fire! It is free to simply use Fire but using the other will require SP. Also attacks come with their own effects as well so do try to keep that in mind.
Standby Phase
Both players will start by selecting their move. This is also where a player can use their ability or a skill that they have.
Attack Phase
Upon selection of a move, both players will unleash their attacks. If a chain occurs then it goes straight back into Standby Phase.
Rest Phase
After complete resolution of the Attack Phase, both players proceed to a rest phase where they gain 1 SP.
To give you a better idea, I will show a sample battle between Gilbert, a youth who prefers to stare at the clouds, and Bumo, a large golem-like creature.
