It is the year 2013, centuries since the supposed reign of the Sanderson Sisters. October approaches and with it, all of the festivities of All Hallows Eve arrive in Salem, Massachusetts. The townspeople decorated Salem from one end to the other. With the fall leaves changing colors and Salem's pumpkin patches thriving, spooky decorations litter the streets. Houses are adorned with fairy lights, cobwebs, and more!
Salem's popular legend about the Sanderson Sisters sweeps the town. Legends state the Sanderson Sisters were witches that lived in 1693 who brought fear by unexplainable paranormal and supernatural mysteries. Youthful children and adults alike disappeared from small villages and had their lives and soul stolen from them so that the Sanderson Sisters could become younger and live forever. Although beheaded for their crimes, before their death, the Sanderson Sisters' cast a spell and promised an ominous return that has yet to come to pass. Or so it's been said.
Since then, the Sanderson Sisters are still in their graves. Years passed, the Sanderson Sisters' cottage turned into a museum. However, it didn't last long and ended in foreclosure. The people of Salem were advised by the council to never trespass on the territory. Stories of previous trespassers dealt with nightmares and hauntings that would consume them. Will something wicked come this way this season?
Two recent arrivals — a brother and a sister — have established their way into the small town. However, when one of them refuses to observe the spooky spirit or fall in love with the idea of the season, it may just bear a cursed fate. Filled with skepticism, the new resident is dared by their classmates. Before long, the group makes their way to the old Sanderson cottage to see what will brew!
Call it stupidity or shenanigans, the group heads inside the cottage, messing around with the items inside. The Black Flame Candle is lit by the newcomer. Within a matter of minutes, the witches rise from the dead!
Will Salem be thrust into another horror-filled reign by the Sanderson Sisters or will the group be able to save Salem before it's too late?

A descendent of Billy Butcherson, the [ Sovereign's ] old lover, the Old Flame catches the eye of the [ Sovereign ] who hopes for another chance. Whether that is to pay back old dues or to take revenge, the Old Flame is enticed by the witches. He may become an unwilling participant in their affairs, drawn to their supposed past history. Which side will he choose?

The glue of the group, the True Heart often goes out of their way for others. Seemingly as if she has her life in order, she is dependable and many look up to her for guidance and support. They, like the [ Guardian ] are intensely loyal. Their biggest concern is fearing for the [ Old Flame ] and refusing to let him fall into the witches' seduction and schemes.

The comic relief of the group, the Bull Head teases and banters with everyone, especially the [ True Heart ]. He struggles with keeping focus and has trouble following other people's lead. While he tries to keep things light-hearted, he may be stubborn in his ways and often find himself in a predicament of mind over matter.

Knowledgeable in the supernatural, the Enchanted is a local who has always kept an open mind, believing in the impossible from fairies to magic. With her mother previously owning the Sanderson Sisters' museum, it's wondered if her family is connected to the Sanderson Sisters. She has a history with [ The Outlier ], but keeps her distance.

Despite being the son of a policeman, the Instigator is known for their anarchic behaviour. Fearless and reckless, he influences the [ Beloved ] into a wild adventure. Will he be able to save his friends and prove himself a worthy inheritor of his father's legacy or disappoint himself?

With deep-rooted sadness, the Outlier follows the [ Instigator ] but finds himself obsessed and fascinated with the [ Cursed ], wanting to live another life than his own. A life for a life. Why? Their reasons are secret and they are the most private of the group. He has history with the [ Enchanted ].

Placed under a spell, the Cursed must live forever with her guilt as a cat. She can only take human form in October while the rest of the year, she lives as a talking, magical cat. She protects the old Sanderson Cottage, waiting for the day she'll get her revenge on the Sanderson Sisters and free herself from her immortal curse.

The older brother of the [ Beloved ] and one of Salem's newest resident, the Ill-fated is a non-believer in the supernatural. Will Salem make a believer out of him? He's taken an interest of some kind in the [ Enchanted ] and plays with fire literally unintentionally setting up the witches’ return. How unlucky is that?

Sister of the [ Ill-fated ], she is the opposite of her brother and the youngest of the group. Free-spirited and youthful, her resilience catches the eyes of the Sanderson Sisters. Despite not being a child, she becomes a target due to her charming quips and popularity with others.

Said to have sold her soul to the Devil and had been gifted a grimoire, she is the oldest of Sanderson Sisters. The Sovereign is known for her brains; her cunning; and her twisted, wicked ways: traits her other two sisters do not have. She will stop at nothing to get what she wants. However, her jealousy may be her undoing.
Sovereign has an affinity for witchcraft, necromancy, electrokinesis, and limited clairvoyancy
Guardian

Blessed with tenacity and hypervigilance, the Guardian is the middle child of the Sanderson Sisters. Faithful to her sisters and known for her bravery, she follows the lead of the [ Sovereign ]. She and the [ Seductress ] often instigate in playful arguments and competitions, much to the Sovereign's consternation.
The Guardian is known for her heightened senses such as enhanced hearing, vision, and scent-detection; and super-strength.

Love-crazed and cold-hearted, the [ Seductress ] is the youngest of the Sanderson Sisters. Her alluring presence and charming, honeyed words assist her in seducing those around her in her grasp. While she may seem aloof, the Seductress may be the more approachable one of the sisters.
The Seductress is known for her voice manipulations. Despite being able to use her voice offensively, she often prefers to sing to hypnotise and compel her victims.

I'd prefer for potentially interested members to be 18+ because my co-GM and I would feel more comfortable writing with other members who are around our age since we are in our mid to late-twenties.
That said, please be cautious and mindful of the topics used and present in the roleplay. There will be some violence, horror, drug abuse, explicit language, etc. found. Trigger warnings in character sheets and post are appreciated.

Not necessarily a rule, however, please note that this roleplay is application-based and not first come, first serve. While the role descriptions may seem 'set' in stone, please be as creative as you'd like with the role you apply for. The descriptions are considered guidelines. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
Regarding character ages, the new resident and locals of Salem should all be around 21-23 years old, still in university, etc., with the 'Beloved' being as young as 20 years old. The Sanderson Sisters will appear as 25-28 years old.

A discord out-of-character chat will be made for accepted applicants. In the meantime, the out-of-character thread will be on-site.
Please note, out-of-character communication is really vital and important to the roleplay! I'd ideally like for members of the roleplay to be open to plotting together. While we have an over-arching plot, this story is just as much as mine as it is yours! So please feel free to go wild and crazy and always share your ideas!
