Life changing moments

Losing his Appa
At the age of eight, Asher had been with his Appa (Father) at a local shop to collect some items for dinner. They were about to finish gathering the items they needed when a man with a handgun and face mask entered the store. He ordered everyone to get down and for the person working at the cash register to hand over all the money.

Appa, who was actually a police officer (although was not on duty at the time), took it upon himself to try and bring the robber down. Things didn’t go too well. Instead, he was shot three times in the stomach as he attempted to stand up and tackle the robber. There are days where he still has nightmares about the night. He is completely and utterly convinced that his Appa’s spirit is with him no matter where he goes, watching over him and protecting him.

Losing his virginity – the horror story
He was sixteen years old. Asher and his girlfriend of a month had decided to finally lose their virginity together. They waited until her parents were out of town and he snuck into her bedroom. Things seemed to have been going well. He was hitting the right spots and she seemed to be enjoying herself. However, there was sitting in the pit of his stomach.

It was beginning to rumble.

He was tossing it up to nerves. That he was nervous to lose his virginity to her. So, they began. It was complete and utter bliss. I mean, stressful as hell too. Trying to make sure that he was doing everything correctly and that he wouldn’t leave her feeling unsatisfied. However, that feeling in the pit of his stomach just wasn’t leaving.

And so when he finally reached his climax, he realised what that feeling was. It wasn’t nerves. But rather the off milk he had drunk a couple of hours prior. It was his stomach warning him to make his way to the toilet. However, unable to realise what that feeling was because he thought it was just him being excited, as he finished, his bowels began to open.

He basically crapped himself while orgasming.

Not just normal poop. Diarrhea. She broke up with him the next day and news of the pooping spread across the school like wildfire.

Love is not kind.
Asher and Alyssa had been dating for two years. He could see himself spending the rest of his life with her. They declared that they were in love with each other and that one day, they would marry and have children together and everything. They had met in their first week of university and were practically glued to each other.

However, all of that came to an end when Asher went to a doctors appointment for a check-up. It seemed as if his private areas were just extremely itchy. Thinking that he might’ve had an allergic reaction to something, he wanted to get it checked out. Well, the doctor revealed to him that it wasn’t an allergy. In fact, it was pubic lice. But how the hell did he get pubic lice if he had only been with one person?

Well, that’s when things got interesting.

It seemed as if Alyssa had been using Tinder this whole time they were dating. Not only was she dating Asher, but she was seeing other men on the side. Basically, she had all these older men who were her Sugar Daddy to which she would sleep with for exchange of money and items. Now, Asher would say that that would make her a prostitute. But Alyssa argued with that. In fact, she even wanted to keep on dating Asher despite having all of these other relationships on the side.

It broke Asher’s heart. Alyssa moved away a couple of months later, and it’s been over a year since he had last seen her. But she had hurt him so much that it’s been well over a year since he had actually committed to dating anyone. Playing around for fun? Sure, why not. But to have a deep, emotional connection with someone? Well, he was waiting for the right person and praying that his heart wasn’t going to get broken again.

Personality type: ENFP-T – The Campaigner
100% Extroverted
70% Intuitive
75% Feeling
63% Prospecting
83% Turbulent

Positive traits

Curious – When it comes to new ideas, Asher isn’t interested in brooding – he wants to go out and experience things, and don’t hesitate to step out of his comfort zone to do so. He is imaginative and open-minded, seeing all things as part of a big, mysterious puzzle called life.

Observant – Asher believes that there are no irrelevant actions, that every shift in sentiment, every move and every idea is part of something bigger. To satisfy his curiosity, he tries to notice all of these things, and to never miss a moment.

Energetic and Enthusiastic – As he observes, forming new connections and ideas, Asher won’t hold his tongue– he’s excited about his findings, and share them with anyone who’ll listen. This infectious enthusiasm has the dual benefit of giving him a chance to make more social connections, and of giving him a new source of information and experience, as he fits his new friends’ opinions into his existing ideas.

Excellent Communicators – It’s a good thing that Asher has such strong people skills, or he’d never express these ideas. Asher enjoys both small talk and deep, meaningful conversations, which are just two sides of the same coin for him, and are adept at steering conversations towards his desired subjects in ways that feel completely natural and unforced.

Know How to Relax – It’s not all “nature of the cosmos” discussions with Asher – people with the same personality type know that sometimes, nothing is as important as simply having fun and experiencing life’s joys. That Intuitive trait lets Campaigners know that it’s time to shake things up, and these wild bursts of enthusiastic energy can surprise even their closest friends.

Very Popular and Friendly – All this adaptability and spontaneity comes together to form a person who is approachable, interesting and exciting, with a cooperative and altruistic spirit and friendly, empathetic disposition. Asher gets along with pretty much everyone, and his circles of friends stretch far and wide.

Negative traits

Poor Practical Skills – When it comes to conceiving ideas and starting projects, especially involving other people, Asher has exceptional talent. Unfortunately his skill with upkeep, administration, and follow-through on those projects struggles. Without more hands-on people to help push day-to-day things along, his ideas are likely to remain just that – ideas.

Find it Difficult to Focus – Asher is a natural explorer of interpersonal connections and philosophy, but this backfires when what needs to be done is that TPS report sitting right in front of him. It’s hard for him to maintain interest as tasks drift towards routine, administrative matters, and away from broader concepts.

Overthink Things – He doesn’t take things at face value – he looks for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It’s not uncommon for him to lose a bit of sleep asking himself why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it.

Get Stressed Easily – All this overthinking isn’t just for their own benefit – Asher is very sensitive, and cares deeply about others’ feelings. A consequence of his popularity is that others often look to him for guidance and help, which takes time, and it’s easy to see why he sometimes get overwhelmed, especially when he can’t say yes to every request.

Highly Emotional – While emotional expression is healthy and natural, with Asher even viewing it as a core part of his identity, it can come out strongly enough to cause problems for him. Particularly when under stress, criticism or conflict, he can experience emotional bursts that are counter-productive at best.

Independent to a Fault – He loathes being micromanaged and restrained by heavy-handed rules – he wants to be seen as highly independent masters of his own fate, even possessors of an altruistic wisdom that goes beyond draconian law. The challenge for him is that he lives in a world of checks and balances, a pill he is not happy to swallow.

Name: Thalia Dimou

Nicknames: Lia (frequently used; it comes naturally to most people even if they don't have a close relationship with her)

Age: Twenty years old

Gender: CIS Female

Date of birth: July 18th

Place of birth: Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida

Sexuality: Heterosexual (attracted to men) l Gray-romantic (being in a long-term relationship since a young age, Thalia didn't have the chance to actively experiment with her emotions; she is quite unsure about where she stands when it comes to romance and she views relationships as practical arrangements rather than the natural consequence of love)

Languages: English (primary language) l Greek (conversational-level; despite his Greek roots, her father has a preference for English in his day-to-day life as well) l French and Spanish (took classes in both languages in high school)

Major: Taking into account her own interests and her mother's (her father has never been the sort to involve himself in her choices), Thalia decided to major in Public Relations — it was a profession that pleased her mother and it allowed Thalia to do what she did best: interact with people and be persuasive. She also chose a minor in Event Management.

Occupation: Student/ Active member in Zeta Tau Alpha/ Intern at Liquid Creative, a marketing agency; she also provides assistance as a volunteer to charitable events organized by humanitarian organisations (Family Promise of Gainesville, Guardian Ad Litem, Boys and Girls Club, Humane Society of North Central Florida)

thalia d.

Hair: Thalia has dark brown hair that goes past her shoulders, stopping short of the middle of her back. In terms of style, her hair stands somewhere between straight and wavy — she needs to straighten it for it to be considered straight and she needs to curl it if she even wants that 'natural' wavy look. She mostly prefers it as it is.

Eyes: Her eyes are noticeably brown due to their lighter shade.

Height: 156 cm

Weight: 52 kgs

Body Type: Thalia's body shape is balanced, her hips just slightly wider than her torso. She fits into the mesomorph body type; she has a regular working out schedule (as most girls in the sorority house) as a pleasant appearance is emphasized in her field of work.

Piercings: She has both earlobes pierced three times. She also has a mid helix piercing in her right ear, though she doesn't wear it often (reference).

Modifications: None and isn't particularly interested in having anything done.

Life-changing moments

Making things official.

If someone were to ask Thalia about the ‘secret’ that presumably stood at the root of her lasting relationship — and only relationship, actually —, she would be unable to offer them an appropriate answer. The same thing could be said about the details of how exactly had she entered that relationship in the first place; dating Jacob Palmer had seemed to be the natural thing to do at the time.

Perhaps it was that ‘natural’ aspect of their connection that made others question it. There hadn’t been a grand moment in which Thalia had realized that she loved Jacob and couldn’t live without him. Jacob’s own proposal about advancing their relationship hadn’t been the most romantic one either, though it had been brought up between the two of them when he had taken her back home after their high school’s homecoming. One could argue that was the dream of every fifteen-year-old girl, though his ‘I had fun tonight. Do you want to hang out tomorrow… as in a date?’ had lacked the passion every teenage girl expected.

She had agreed as she always had done when it came to him. And she hadn’t refused him since.

The setting of their first meeting wasn’t a memory that she was particularly fond of. She and her mother were supposed to go out and celebrate her enrolment in one of the most prestigious high schools in Miami — her mother liked to view it as a victory of her motherly teachings, but Thalia was just happy to have her mother all to herself for once. Her job as a lawyer for all the filthy rich and shady men Miami had to offer usually kept her away from home for longer periods than her daughter liked.

Of course, as usual, Thalia got a little too happy and too excited all too fast. The moment they entered the fancy restaurant her mother had chosen, the older woman recognized at least eight people. One happened to be accompanied by a friend and that friend happened to be accompanied by his son: Jacob. And, somehow, Jacob was a sophomore in the high school that she had just managed to enter. While her mother entertained her friends throughout the night, Thalia remained stuck with the son of the friend of a friend’s for the sake of learning more about the place where she would spend the next four years of her life.

Jacob Palmer wasn’t that bad. He was cute, rich — as most sons of the fairly popular estate agents in Miami —, an upperclassman — all girls loved upper-class men —, and he was on the high school’s debate team, which meant he had a way with words. And he had potential, as her mother put it.

He was the one to help her figure things out during her first weeks of high school. He even introduced her to his friends. They spent time together and he was nice enough to escort her to their high school’s events, usually encouraged by her own mother. In everyone’s eyes, Jacob Palmer suddenly had a girlfriend. Why not make it official? And he made it official in the days following Thalia’s second homecoming.

First signs.
Thalia had never known just how much could a person be changed by their anger and frustration. While she had become the only middle ground between her parents after their divorce, they weren’t particularly angry people to begin with; their fights didn’t include shouting or violent acts, be they directed at an innocent vase laying around or the other person themselves — their style of making their displeasure known could be described as microaggression or passive-aggressiveness. That was what Thalia was used to.

That was what she expected from Jacob as well, considering that he was a rather passive and logical guy. They had never really fought while they were in high school and while tensions were high after they began their long-distance relationship when he went off to college, their fights over the phone were still pretty innocent.

Things would change, however. Jacob had been unable to attend her graduation ceremony and her prom — there was always something to be done somewhere and excuses were easily found. Thalia hadn’t thought much of it. She had understood, as always. And yet, once Jacob came home the following weekend, he wasn’t as understanding. He was quiet at first, as he visited Thalia and she showed him pictures from the prom and even tried on her prom dress again, but not for long.

He told her that he had seen the stories and snapshots posted by her friends and herself on the prom night. That her behaviour had been off. That she had laughed too much, danced too much, drank too much, partied too much. That he didn’t recognize her. That she had changed. Thalia didn’t think that she had changed; she had just been happy. And when he mentioned a particular closeness to her prom date — a guy that had a girlfriend, a girl younger than him —, she told him that he was overthinking the situation.

That was the moment when he snapped. He unlocked his phone and showed her different pictures he had saved, which were proof of her indecency somehow. They weren't. She had been simply having fun with the friends she had known for most of her life. And while she was trying to explain things to him, he thought that she was frustratingly calm.

He threw his phone on the floor. It shattered right in front of her eyes. Thalia didn't know how to react and she wouldn’t fully learn how to do so in the future anyway.

Baby steps.
There were many ways in which an eighteen-year-old could interpret the so-called ‘freedom’ that came with leaving home and moving to another city to start off college. That renewed sense of freedom meant doing what you have been unable to do until that point — for Thalia it meant taking control of her future as much as she could.

There was little she could change when it came to her family or her relationship. Most of what she did in college was influenced by Jacob’s choices, especially her decision to join Zeta Tau Alpha, though she resisted moving too high in the sorority’s ranks.

But he couldn’t control what she did outside the campus, not too much anyway. She had first heard of Liquid Creative — a prominent marketing agency in Gainesville, Florida — from one of her teachers. Thalia had already shown her skills by being an important part of the organizing team of the university’s public events, so why not go beyond that, especially when those from Liquid Creative were offering paid internships?

Thalia wasn’t interested in the money, but she was interested in the experience. While Liquid Creative focused mostly on well-known businesses, as well as promising ones, there were certain charity events that still took place. Thalia was interested in those and began to work with a variety of humanitarian organisations, offering her free expertise on the side.

Personality type: ESFJ-T – The Consul
75% Extraverted
80% Observant
46% Feeling
54% Judging
60% Turbulent

Positive traits

Strong Practical Skills — She knows what has to be done and how to do it. Thalia is constantly learning from her experiences and while much of what she does is based a strong belief in her cause, she is aware that she has to present a practical and logical way of thinking and taking action in order to move forward.

Strong Sense of Duty — Thalia strives to meet her obligations, though that may sometimes be more from a sense of social expectations than intrinsic drive.

Patient — When you work with people in general, be they teammates or clients, you have to be patient and understanding. There is no other way around it. Even when it comes to her personal life, Thalia displays a high level of patience.

Good at connecting with others — For most of her life, Thalia felt like she was playing certain social roles: a good girlfriend and friend, an even better daughter. Socially, she is much of a chameleon; she studies certain situations in order to make sure she fits in well and she can put on a show in order to make herself liked and trusted by those around her.

Negative traits

Represses Her Feelings — Thalia is an open person, but she is as open as she wants to be, no more or less. She lacks a healthy emotional expression and it is that lack that can lead to many moments of pure frustration and confusion.

Overloads Herself — While she is great at multitasking and focusing on many things all at once, Thalia doesn't know when to actually stop. One could argue that it is a sort of overwhelming escapism involved and they wouldn't be too far from the truth, but working and studying without limits usually can lead to frequent periods of tiredness and sickness too.

Vulnerable to Criticism — As someone that treasures the others' opinions in all areas of her life, she lets negative comments and criticism get to her head. They are something she keeps in mind when making her next move.

Reluctant to Change — At this point in her life, Thalia has entered a comfortable routine and she can't imagine the future looking any different. She has long-term plans that include her career and her own family life. While she is aware that things can change at any given moment, she still believes that she more control than others when it comes to her future.
